Comments: (2/23/04) - "I had a lovely overnight stay at Oakdale Farms. It felt like a night at home. The breakfast that was made for me in the morning was fantastic. My room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. There were spacious turn out pens for my horse, which was wonderful due to the long trip I was making. I hope I have the opportunity to travel through there again!". . .(1/24/06) - "Nice place, a little hard to get to.". . .(5/3/06) - "What a joy our stay was. We were 2 women traveling across country with 6 animals and it is alway nice to find people that are helpful and kind to us. Everyone at the farm was great and very friendly. The stalls were clean, lighted and great for the horses and mule. Caroline went over and above duty as my friend was sick. I was very worried about what I was going to do all day and what I was going to eat. Never fear, Caroline took care of me and I got to see some of the local appeal as I got to shadow her the entire day. Who knew that great Sushi was in Mississippi!! Caroline doesn't cook much but she did a great dinner for me (who knew that I could BBQ!!). I feel like I have a new friend and if I ever get back that way with or without animals I know who I'm staying with. Thanks Caroline, we talk about you often.". . .(11/30/06) - "Thank you for taking us in on such a short notice. The stalls were nice and clean. The horses were very comfortable. The beds were comfortable too.". . .(11/16/07) - "Caroline was very nice and ensured that I had dinner. The first night stay was stressful, as I got my trailer stuck. However, Carla was great. She works for Caroline and pulled it out with her 4x4. The stalls were nice and the bed was a dream. The only negative thing, that did not bother me were the animals in the house. If you have allergies it may affect you. Overall it was a nice place to lay your head.". . . (5/12/09) - "Had a nice stay, everything was clean and comfortable. I would recommend you get the pricing in writing as we were charged more than was represented on the website.". . . (12/1/09) - "The weather had been awful so everything was muddy and/or flooded which made the outdoor accommodations for the horses less than optimal. This is no fault of the proprietress. However, we were told we would have a private bedroom and bath. We ended up having to share the bathroom with 3 other people. I ended up begging to use another bathroom just to brush my teeth. There are also numerous dogs in the household that are loud and intrusive. The owner is a very nice woman, so giving her any negative marks is difficult. But travellers should know what they can expect if they stay here.". . . (12/31/09) - "I'll never stay in a commercial hotel again if I can help it at all, horse or no horse. I had trouble getting my horse to load the next morning and Caroline was able to give me a few pointers and kept an eye out for my kids as we worked through it. Breakfast was excellent!"

His ranch is very easy to locate, close to needed facilities for youself, stalls were safe for the horses, and a very nice set up. We stayed in the trailer and had a good nights rest ourself. Best of all . . . [the owner] . . . makes a very good host that enjoys people and horses.". . .(12/4/05) - "The family could not have been nicer or more accommodating. {He} checked on us several times enroute to his place. We arrived at around midnight and his son met us at the main highway and we followed him in. The stall was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The next morning PaPaw came out and checked to make sure everything was up to par. It was! We stayed around and talked to him and enjoyed every minute of it. If you are traveling between the East coast and Texas, this is a great place to stop for a day or two. We WILL be back!". . .(12/19/05) - "Very friendly and accommodating. He made sure we were settled and the horses were comfortable in his very nice and cozy barn. He was kind enough to shuffle a couple horse for our two who need to be close to each other. Mike, thanks for all your help and if you ever need a stop out here in Florida please feel free to email us anytime..Thanks again....". . . (3/1/09) - "Nice, clean, safe stalls. Mike was cleaning out our trailer almost before we could get horses out. Due to scheduling conflict, Mike fed our horses for us, really early one morning. Will be returning to stay here. Thanks for our GPS, would have not found place without it, kind of hard to get to.". . . (8/18/09) - "Just wanted to drop a note of THANKS to Golden Horse Stables. We stayed at Golden Horse Stables on our way out from Florida to New Mexico for the National High School Rodeo Finals. The place was not hard to find and Mr. Mike and his son were very nice people. Mr. Mike helped us get parked and set up for the night and even cleaned out my trailer for me. The stalls were good size and had fresh bedding. My mare was glad to get out and roll. My husband had dropped his keys and we didn’t realize it until we were half way across LA. We called Mike, he found them and mailed them to our home in Florida, THANK YOU VERY MUCH MIKE!! See you next time we come thru your way.". . . (8/5/10) - "Folks at Golden are very friendly and helpfull.They do thier best to make your stay a good one.". . . (8/23/11) - "Disappointed that the host did not even look over the health paperwork we brought for the horses, makes me worried about unhealthy horses staying at the facility. The stalls were not completely cleaned out, watering and feeding containers were not clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. RV hookups possibly not adequate for larger rigs, they warned us about popping the circuit breaker if we used the microwave with the AC. We chose to keep our horses in the round pen overnight and they did fine."
