Administrator's comments - The following numbered comments were sent to me from the horse motel owner from happy overnighters:
1) Thank you again!! Headed back to Oregon from a long trip to Del Mar. You have one of the best overnight places we've seen and been to. Good job. 2015.
2) Thank you, Bev, for the great hospitality! I appreciate having a warm safe place to arrive after a long days travel. Trish and Star. 2016.
3) Thank you so much for making our trip south so enjoyable. After all the roadblocks we had that prolonged our day seeing Bev waving us into the driveway was amazing. Excellent facilities, cutes plus bunk room and character. Would not hesitate for a moment to send people your way. Susanne and Linda. 2016
4) Thanks so much! Horses and ourselves were super comfy!! See you next time for sure! Sara and TJ, Kamloops, BC Canada. 2016.
5) Good turnaround for our large trailer. Thanks! 2016."

(3/2/18) - "Traveling north with unexpected layover due to snowy weather. Owner, Bev, was warm, courteous, and knowledgeable about local traveling conditions. Lots of parking, cozy comfy stalls for our weary ponies and secure arena to stretch their legs in the morning. Very clean barn and exceptional welcoming environment.". . . (3/4/18) - "Thank you Bev! What a relief for us to have found a warm stall and friendly people after a long haul and emergency stops all day! The stalls were cozy and the whole facility was immaculate and I felt safe leaving my beloved horse to have my own cozy lodging less than 5 min away.". . . (3/27/18) - "Wonderful, safe and clean place for horses, dog and people. We stayed in the bunkhouse and the horses had a good time in the pasture. Very friendly hosts and very convenient access to everything! Highly recommended.". . . (8/25/18) - "Nice people, nice clean safe place! We truly appreciated their efforts to make us and our horse comfortable. We highly recommend them!". . . (9/15/18) - (The following comments were sent from Shasta Valley Ranch in Montague, CA showing great cooperation between two horse motel owners) - "A and B Hostelry went above and beyond when I5 had an unexpected closure due to the Delta Fire 9/13/18. Beverly contacted me here at Shasta Valley Ranch concerned for a group of travelers expected to arrive at her facility that night. Delayed due to the closure of the freeway. Beverly turned to horsemotel.com and began looking for another possible safe overnight option for her expected guests, just a bit north of the I5 closure area. Beverly was instrumental in coordinating with our ranch and the traveling party and we arranged their overnight stay here at Shasta Valley Ranch. I appreciate her going the extra mile for our traveling equestrian folks, I would have done the same and have on many occasions to assure the safety and comfort of the our guests now or in the future....This is what makes us so good at what we do and the services we provide!". . . (4/7/22) - "I stayed here with 2 horses February 2022. The host texted me to find out our ETA as we traveled. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The barn is older with large stalls maintained beautifully. They were spotless. The camping spot was nice with electrical and water. I would stay here again for sure.". . . (10/2/22) - "Beautiful barn, nice little campsite under the trees. Everything was spotless. We tried to come back to stay a second time but had trouble getting any answer to phone calls. We surely hope you are ok."

(5/15/22) - "What a wonderful farm! All kinds of critters welcome you. Guinea fowl, peacocks, mini horses, goats, and best of all the giant tortoises. Overnighted with 4 horses and they stayed in the outdoor sand arena. BONUS!! Dave & David the farm hands cleaned out the back of our trailer. 🤠 We enjoyed checking out the variety of pigeons and so many other happy animals. Stayed a mile away at the Gaia Spa Hotel that accepts dogs. Look forward to visiting again!". . . (6/14/22) - "We were looking for a place to stay yesterday last night and we ran across this place on the Internet under Horse hotels 🤠 all I can say is wow!!!!! First of all, the people are very very nice💜 Ken, the owner of the place was amazing; so very helpful and just on top of everything🐴 We even had an issue with the truck and Ken was all over it. He took Lisa to find the parts; just went above and beyond🐶So, therefore, that gave us time me time to really explore their property. They have horses, miniature gypsy horses that come from Ireland🐎 They have goats, they have a chicken🌻they have an amazing, unique variety of pigeons; just amazing,💜 but the most awesome part on their little farm was the tortoises. They had them from almost 400 pounds down to the little tiny babies 🦄🐐🐓 This little farm is the largest tortoise rescue in the U.S.. I just fell in love with the turtles 💙. You have to have a big heart and be dedicated to be a rescue of any animal !!!! These people are doing an amazing job taking care of all these animals. I was impressed🐴🐐🐓🐶. So, if you ever find yourself going up or down I-5 and you need a horse hotel, I highly recommend Happy Hooves Horse Hotel✌ - with Lisa, Lewallen and 2 others.". . . (8/16/22) - "Tortoises are REALLY interesting creatures. We stayed on a tortoise rescue ranch and the owner was LOVELY and showed us all of his rescues once we had settled the horses for the night. I learned so many things that I had no idea about, like the fact that they LOVE to be scratched and they feel your touch on their shells. They know their names and will come when called by someone they know. They have SUCH funny personalities and love fruit. I am now happy.". . . (10/2/22) - "The friendliest place ever! Lots of darling ponies and other pets, nice turnout pen and decent stalls. Everyone was welcoming and went the extra mile to be sure we were comfortable.". . . (10/5/22) - "Stayed the night when passing though in the beginning of September 2022 with my daughter's horse. We can’t say what the town was like because we didn’t venture into the town. As for Happy Hooves Horse Motel, we were welcomed warmly and our horse was happy. Offered him a cozy stall or the arena for the night and for our horse. We liked the arena so he could stretch legs. A month before our stay a fire circled the sanctuary and the little piece of land in the middle was saved. The pond was also dried up. We came after weeks of triple digit temperatures so everything that wasn’t scorched from the fire was dry and brittle from the heat. Even going through such destruction and still cleaning up the mess from it didn’t stop them from opening the place to strangers and showed us the love they had for all the creatures living there. We loved seeing all of the tortoises that had tons of space to roam. I never knew about all the different kinds of pigeons that they had. Also the flock of guinea fowls that roamed the property made me smile. And of course, the mini gypsies are just beautiful! All I can say is that we were very welcomed, learned a lot about tortoises and our horse had a wonderful stop over.". . . (11/2/22) - "We boarded two horses here for two weeks! I felt at home and loved it! We made friends and felt so welcomed by Kate and her staff. I think I left part of my heart there! No, I don’t want to live in California but if I lived in Anderson, I would definitely board here!"

Comments: (5/10/12) - "Alicia Ryan has NorCal Stables listed as a horse motel also. On 4/30/12, we used her facility to overnight our horse. We had stayed there a few years ago when it was under other ownership; it was disappointingly run-down. BUT NOW: wow, under Alicia's able management, it is a facility to be proud of. Our mare had a clean, safe, huge, matted stall with an adequate-sized turn-out to stretch her legs. Everything was well-organized. Alicia is very professional. She knows and does what is necessary to run a successful horse business. We'll be back!". . . (7/28/16) - "We had a great stay with NorCal Riding Stables. Alicia was there to greet us as soon as we pulled in. It was so close to I- 5 which made it nice since we were in the truck for 10 hours. Plenty of parking and very close to food and lodging. The stalls were very clean and well matted. We will be back in a few weeks when we head up. Great place and I would highly recommend them for overnighting your horse or horses.". . . (10/10/18) - "We were very fortunate to stay at the Norcal Riding Stables in our travels through California. Alicia was so kind and helpful and her facilities were spotless and well organized. They had an indoor arena with lights in which we were able to turn the horses out and let them stretch their legs. Overall great place to stay and good people!". . .

(2/27/10) - "Dale and Joanne Galbraith are real horsemen. They are genuine and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend them as a motel, source of lessons and I even purchased a horse from them and he was everything they said and more. VERY HONEST FOLKS !! A++". . . (3/4/14) - "I really enjoyed my stay at Dale and Joanne's Ranch. Coffee's on in the morning and it's safe and sound and I slept like a rock! The cottages are really cute, the one I got had two beds, a huge full bath, a huge closet with some of the goodies she sells for her tack shop! Cool shirts and chairs, etc. There is everything you need for sale at the tackshop, trailers for sale, even horses, AQHA or Paint. If you're in the market for anything, Joanne probably has it! The horse facility was perfect; a large pen each, lots of water and feeders. Great location off the freeway, huge arena and just everything you need including conversation and Joanne is a wealth of knowledge; you can learn more from her than you know :} Pattern horse racing, barrels, speed events, lessons or otherwise. If you're serious about improving go stay at the ranch for a couple of days. Sincerely, Kara Felix Lake Stevens, WA.". . . (8/5/18) - "Joanne was very helpful, welcoming, friendly and knowledgable. She taught me something about my horse trailer that I didn't know!". . . (7/4/19) - "Thank you Joanne, you're the BEST!!!!!". . . (10/10/20) - "Joanne was a great host, the horse facilities were great for our horses to have a quiet rest while traveling. The mare motel style stalls were very big and entirely covered. There was an extremely clean place for us to stay with two beds and a bathroom. The location is perfect if you are traveling in the area; far enough away from the highways to be safe and quiet and close enough that it was easy to arrive and leave. There is plenty of truck and trailer parking. Joanne was very accommodating to all of our needs, I would definitely recommend staying there and would stay again if we are in the area.". . . (2/10/21) - "The covered pens are huge! Lots of room for the horses to move around and rest after a long haul! Joanne is GREAT! The facilities are clean and well lit at night.". . . (6/14/21) - "I've stayed at Joanne Galbraith's horse stay several times and have always found it exceptional for both my horse and me. Joanne and her daughter run a top notch horse facility with anything a traveler might need: grains, supplements, medicine, bandages, etc. Both are highly knowledgeable about equine needs. The facility is safe for horses, pipe coral fencing, covered shelter, a round pen, and arena. Hay and feed are fresh and healthy. The room for me was charming and safe. Joanne and her daughter are both fun and easy to work with. The best part was Joanne's biscuits and gravy in the morning! Excellent horse and human stay!". . . (8/21/21) - "Ms Joanne gave us the most heartwarming welcome when we arrived at 2am , explained all the details to us and made us feel at home. The stables were clean and big enough so that the horses could relax for the night. Thank you Ms Joanne ❤.". . . (4/2/23) - "If you’re looking for something pretty and fancy this is definitely not the place for you. With that being said, I have no complaints. It was perfect for us and had everything we needed for our animals. There is adequate trailer parking and turn around, big covered pipe stalls for the horses, and a box stall for our goats and guardian dogs. They have a HUGE enclosed arena which we were able to turn our 3 large dogs loose to run and play. We stayed on site which gave me peace of mind. The cottage was very basic, but clean and comfortable. We were greeted upon arrival and received good hospitality during our stay. If you are traveling through Bakersfield, the location is easy to get to and conveniently located near hotels and restaurants."

(2/23/18) - "Great Ranch to stay at if traveling or passing through Bakersfield. It is centrally located between the 5 and 99, close to restaurants and stores. The owners are very nice and genuine people who care about what you want for your animals. They are very accommodating and easy to work with. They sent me pictures of the ranch and detailed descriptions of where my horse would be staying so I had piece of mind on our long travels prior to our arrival. When we arrived, everything was tidy, clean and just as they had described. They checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and even recommended local places to eat. They checked in with us a few days later to make sure we made it to our destination safely. Just so very nice of them! Perfect stay, lovely people and highly recommended.". . . (2/25/18) - "Kathy was waiting for us when we arrived and was very welcoming and friendly. The horse was well taken care of with a large, green, turnout, water and feed trough. We were impressed by the cleanliness, proper horse fencing and attention to detail...highly recommended and we'll be back again.". . . (4/3/18) - "Lovely hostess, Kathy made us feel so at home. My horse loved the pasture turnout; ample fresh water and large stalls. Great spot; I will return on my next trip south.". . . (8/15/18) - "I would stay here again in a heartbeat...by far the best place I stayed on my Texas round trip from King City, CA. I would HIGHLY recommend the JKC RANCH to anyone for first class horse and human accommodations. Thanks Kathy and Justin...you are the BEST!!!". . . (2/19/19) - "We arrived late to Justin and Kathleen's house and when we pulled up Kathleen was waiting outside for us even though she had to work the following day and helped us get the horses settled in for the night and got us set up in our rooms for the night. We so appreciated her hospitality and her help in getting everyone settled in. I will definitely be going back to her ranch in the future.". . . (4/25/19) - "Wonderful place and people! All the good comments about greeting us, helping us get settled, making sure we had every need met, and being super friendly are true. The large pastures were so good for our 3 horses after a long day in the trailer. They let us put our "bossy" horse in one pasture and the other two in the other pasture. Horses could socialize over the fence and we didn't have to worry about anyone getting kicked over night. Horse and human facilities were wonderful. I'll use them again and highly recommend them. Thank you Kathleen and Justin. Elizabeth.". . . (10/14/19) - "Simply the BEST overnight stabling experience I've had in my 30+ years of traveling with horses all over the US and Canada... it was so nice, in fact, we opted to cut short our first day's drive home from the #WEUnitedChampionship so we could stay here again! The horse accommodations are clean, safe, and spacious, and owners Justin and Kathy Conyers also offer three well-appointed guest rooms in their beautiful home, each with their own shower/bathroom at very reasonable rates. What's more, their access easily accommodates my big, big, BIG seven horse trailer. I highly recommend this place!". . . (11/15/19) - "A good stop and visit...service above expectations. Follow owners directions, not GPS! PS, I did get the bike back together.". . . (2/22/20) - "I feel like I met friends for life! Kathy and Justin are incredible. The horses had a great area and were well rested the next morning. They had a kennel for my dogs and a room for me. So glad I stayed here on my travels!". . . (6/15/20) - "5 star service. I will always stay there.". . . (11/13/20) - "Great hosts, very nice clean house, private room and bathroom. Very good company and very comfortable! We would definitely recommend staying here!". . . (11/26/20) - "They were so super nice and very accommodating! Beautiful place and great location. We will denitely stay there again.". . . (2/5/21) - "They were such wonderful, accommodating hosts. We did not have any horses with us but they let us park in front of their house in their driveway to plug-in our LQ. Very close to many food places, and we felt so at home. Highly recommend!". . . (3/15/21) - "Absolutely wonderful! Our horse was happy and the facility was very clean. We also stayed in the guest room, which was amazing! Awesome hosts! Very willing to help and make us comfortable! 12 out of 10!". . . (3/19/21) - "Kathy and Justin were very friendly and helpful. They were very likeable.". . . (3/19/21) - "People and horse treated VIP. Highly recommend it. If I was a horse I would want to stay there. My horse didn't want to leave the green pasture.". . . (10/10/21) - "Wonderful facility. Kathleen and Justin worked with us (very last minute reservation). Our horse was comfortable as were we. The bed was very comfortable and after 13 hours on the road, that matters. I would highly recommend their facility (and rooms for the people too).". . . (4/4/22) - "Kathy was so welcoming. My horses loved their big paddock after a day in the trailer. Kathy's living accommodations were just beautiful and private. We will stay again on our way south in the fall. Very reasonable to stay overnight. Thx so much. We will be back!"

(8/11/04) - "We were moving two very green horses from Arizona to Northern California in the hottest part of summer and so were travelling by night. I left my young stallion and mare at this facility in the heat of the day while my friend and I went to get some sleep. We were exhuasted and not very pleasant when we arrived, and Tim helped us unload our frightened animals. He has a very calm and quiet way which was very impressive. When we came to load, his sons, Joe and Kevin, came out to help. Joe has the same quiet efficient way with horses as his Dad, and Kevin was a delight and very helpful. We were very impressed and, if they will have us, plan to use this facility whenever we are hauling between California and Arizona.". . .(11/3/04) - "Tim and Julie were absolutely wonderful! They met us upon arrival and were extremely helpful. My horses stayed for almost 2 weeks and were very well taken care of. Thank you!". . .(9/15/05) - "Our visit with Tim and Julie was wonderful. We made new friends and their family went way beyond the call of duty. Their children were wonderful helpers and their hospitality was overwhelming. Without question the place to stay with your horses when traveling. Thank again folks.". . .(10/28/05) - "My husband had to make this trip by himself (ENOUGH to worry me to begin with).....Was held up in picking up the horse we needed to deliver and was HOURS past expected arrival time ~~ Told me that Tim and Julie were GREAT!!!! even with an 11:00pm arrival time, they even offered to come and meet him and bring a trailer if it was needed AND my husband said the place was GREAT, CLEAN and we will ALWAYS stay here when a layover is needed in the future.". . .(4/30/06) - "We were very late coming in due to mechanical problems, we were sure sorry to wake them up. Facility very quiet, room for turn out and exercise.". . .(6/7/06) - "Facility owners were very nice, came right out when we pulled in and took care of my gelding. Their directions were easy to follow. We would definitely use their facility again.". . . (8/22/06) - "The whole family, including the kids, were very freindly & helpful with us and the horses. I felt very comfortable leaving my horses in their care. I would definitely call them again when we are passing through Bakersfield. Thanks again!!!". . .(10/9/06) - "Tim's daughter & son were very helpful upon our arrival. Thank you.". . .(2/25/08) - "We had no problems with anything. Our horses had safe, large outdoor paddocks and I camped in my camper nearby.". . . (12/23/08)- "Super folks. I would recommend this motel to anyone. Very nice down to earth people. The kids were so helpful and we were impressed to see kids like that still existed! The ranch took us in late with not a lot of notice. We definitely would stay there again. THANK YOU!". . . (10/17/09) - "I think it's now going on 4 years that we've used Sioux City horse motel. We travel back & forth from WA state to AZ twice a year. Each time I've been treated with friendliness from Tim & Julie & their kids, regardless the time of arrival. I feel very secure leaving my mare at their place. Their place is the best!! Thanks guys.". . . (8/28/14) - "Tim is very nice, and helpful. They live on the property which makes for good security. His place reminds you of a quirky little western town. We are snowbirds and haul horses back and forth each year. It hasn't worked out for us to stop there last year, but when it does, we will be calling him! He made us feel right at home, let us turn our horses out and had stalls all ready. One of our favorites.". . . (10/4/14) - "The facility and people are great! It was a quick and short stay for us but they were up in the am before us to give the horses their breakfast! Quick note: For those of you unfamiliar with desert ranches - if you want something other than sand for bedding you have to ask for it. But there was lots of sand in the stalls so my horses seemed to rest just fine. Very cute place - just like the old west.". . . 6/16/15 - "I had a positive experience with Tim and his whole family. Very nice folks. Informal operation. I arrived at dark and they helped me quite well. My mare went in the round pen and had room to move and roll. She had plenty of water and was fed early in the morning. Easy to park my trailer, no corners or tight spots. Next morning, I got up and rode my mare in the arena to loosen her up for the haul home. Tim and his sons helped me load the new mare, which was very appreciated. Very kind, family operation."

Comments: (12/16/12) - "Nice safe stalls, great place to layover with horses!". . . (1/8/13) - "This is a nice safe and secure location for you and your horses. They have one 30 amp hookup that is a little difficult for a 40 foot LQ we had to get to, but, we did. The only "negative" is it rained fairly heavily that night and we had to use 4 wheel drive to back our rig out of the hookup location, very muddy at that spot.". . . (12/6/13) - "Great stay. RV hook ups as stated. We were greeted and helped with our horses on arrival. Clean facilities. Would stay here again if in the area. Thanks for everything.". . . (3/12/14) - "This is a fantastic place to overnight! The folks here take a lot of pride in their place. The stalls are always clean and with good fresh water. Even when showing up late at night and early in the A.M. They always make sure someone is available upon arrival. Everyone is very accommodating, kind, and helpful. The gates are locked up at night, so I never had to worry about anything getting stolen or destroyed. Triple C is also a great place to board your horse. I was transferred to a different state for work and had to leave my horse in California for the time being. I decided to leave him at Triple C since I had had been so impressed with them after overnighting there. I ended up having to leave my horse there for a year before I could go get him. They took absolutely fantastic care of him. He was fat and happy when I went to pick him up. Thanks again to all of you at Triple C for the great experience and for taking care of my boy while I was away!"

Comments: (11/2/17) - "Upon arrival, we immediately noticed that Rancho Rio is even cleaner then it used to be. The caretaker, Aaron, was one of the most customer-friendly and responsive equine caretakers I have ever encountered. Our horse's pens were clean and had automatic watering. We parked our 32 foot, 3 horse gooseneck live-aboard, used 120V service, had water available, and our horses were very close. Rancho Rio has trail access and its own obstacle course and multiple clean arenas for turnout. The new ownership is making a positive difference and we will be return customers soon."

Comments: (5/22/05) - "We did a 24 hr. layover to allow our horse to rest. We camped at the ranch in our truck and trailer. Everything was very nice and we felt very good about our horse's safety and security. We would stay there again.". . .(2/25/08) - "We always stop here when we are traveling through the Sacramento area. This is a very safe, clean facility for travelers and their horses. We camp in our RV in close proximity to our horses.". . .(3/26/08) - "Wonderful, friendly people and a very clean, safe facility for our horses. This was our third time to stay at Shandoni.". . . (9/24/09) - "Not a fancy facility, but very clean, safe and quiet. Our horses had large pipe paddocks that were very safe. I felt very comfortable leaving them when we went back to the motel. The owner is a solid horseman and all his horses were impeccably cared for, a good sign. He was very accommodating. Our Pony Club friends in the area recommended Shandoni highly. We will stay at Shandoni again!". . . (11/28/09) - "Doreen and Jay are wonderful people who make your stay at their ranch very pleasant. Ask Doreen to show you some of her wonderful paintings. I now have two of her prints in my home. Once I was lucky enough to be there on the weekend when Doreen had her exhibit and sale in the barn. Also, be sure to try the breakfast burritos at the little store just up the road.". . . (3/1/20) - "Beautiful location and facility! We really appreciated the large outdoor pen and the space for the horses to stretch their legs after a long drive. We hope to come back someday!". . . (11/30/22) - "I have 2 horses and they each had a large pen/field to stretch their legs. Doreen was really sweet and helpful. The road they live on is quite rough to drive in with a trailer but other than that everything was as expected. She was very accepting of the dog on the property as well."

Comments: (0/20/03) - "I recently made a horse trade that required driving and meeting the other person at a halfway point. We called late in the afternoon and were able to make arrangements for that evening, even though we arrived several hours apart. Our host was wonderful, making sure we had everything for both horses, including a selection of hay, a place to clean up an injured horse, and suggestions on where to stay. We were out there 'til after midnight, and pulled out at 6 in the morning. I would definitely stay there again! Only drawback.. it was a little difficult to find late at night, and the hotel was not as close as I would have liked, but closer than some. A+!!". . . (1/21/04) - "First Class Accommodations. Easy to find off 99, large stalls, abundant shavings, round pen, two arenas, friendly, helpful hosts and within 2 miles of food and lodging. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.". . .(9/3/04) - "Wonderful people with a beautiful boarding facility. I am sorry that we will be leaving! Thankyou.". . .(1/5/07) - "The accommodations were excellent as well as the service. Thanks again for everything.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Easy access from CA 99. Large clean turn out areas for trailered horses to stretch their legs. Stall new, secure with rubber mats and fresh shavings. Auto waterers in each stall. Hostess was friendly, charming and helpful. We stayed on site in our truck camper with electricity provided. All in all one of the best stables we have stayed at. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation, too.". . .(2/24/08) - "They communicate well when contacted about staying overnight. The stalls are large and always clean. Feel very welcome there and they are so flexible on arrival and departure times so we can stay on our schedule. Great place!". . . (3/10/10) - "Awesome host and facilities! My daughters and I have stayed at Silverglen two times and both stays were exceptional. Clean, safe and friendly. Would highly recommend to all travelers!". . . (6/24/12) - "We have overnighted here 3 times in the last 2 years. It's been great every time!". . . (6/27/12) - "In May 2012, we were on our way back from AZ and had reservations to stay in Tehachapi. However, the wind was blowing so hard, we decided to drive on. We called to inquire availability. Our stay was great. Clean, safe facility, shavings in the stall, shade to enjoy while watching my horse. We stayed in our LQ-horse trailer and enjoyed a great shower before heading to town to enjoy dinner at recommended restaurant. All in all, a great stay, would stay again and have told friends about it.". . . (1/29/14) - "Top-Notch facility. Nice and clean and well organized. Magnificent covered arena. Through an electronic snafu, the hostess did not receive my email and phone message till the morning after our arrival but because of the website info and her initial email communications with me, installing my horse at 10:30pm without anyone from the ranch being present was a snap. Human lodging and food was about 5 miles away. You will not be disappointed in this facility. Very nice feel to it and peaceful.. . . (3/13/16) - "Great people-great barns! Great layover! If we ever get back to Fresno we will stop again!". . . (9/10/16) - "What a super place! Clean and secure. We had our 7 month old puppy with us and felt safe she couldn't leave the property as it was totally fenced with dog proof fences. Lots of room to turn around in (we are about 75' long and had no trouble) Would stay again for sure.". . . (11/22/20) - "Very lovely facilities. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. Everything was very clean and I felt at ease with my horses there. Access into and out of the facilities was also easy and convenient. Looking forward to staying there again.". . . (10/2/22) - "

Comments: (12/31/19) - "Collins Ranch is an amazing facility. Caroline and Marty are friendly and welcoming even in the middle of the night. They were ready to house our three horses and welcomed us with open arms. Had we known about their bed and breakfast we would have stayed at their facility. They treated us like family and stayed in touch with us through our travels. Their kindness to two weary travelers and their beloved animals will never be forgotten. Thank you for all you kindness!". . . (10/27/21) - "Ranch owners met us at the barn and the facilities were clean and accessible. Room was great and the bed was very comfortable. Absolutely would stay here again.". . . (10/29/21) - "Availability is great. Room is very clean and a very comfortable bed. Pet friendly. Marty's breakfast is "over the top amazing!" This will always be my favorite stop in this area of southern California.". . . (1/29/22) - "Very good people and pretty place. I recommande the place. Thank you, Caroline and Marty, for everything.". . . (2/16/22) - "Caroline and Marty have to be the nicest people in southern California! Their facility is top shelf, I have definitely found my new layover spot for my southern California runs! The indoor stalls are perfect size with outdoor runs if you choose to use them. The majority of my clients are Hunter Jumper and dressage folks so large stalls are a must!". . . (6/22/22) - "My stay with the Collins at Collins Ranch was wonderful; they went above and beyond in accommodating me and my horse. I had some trouble with my GPS route due to some construction in the area and they drove out to meet me so I could follow them back to the Ranch. The suite is so cute, clean, and homey feeling. The accommodations for the horses are very clean and my mare was well taken care of during our stay. Caroline and her husband make you feel very welcome; I cannot say enough good things!". . . (4/3/22) - "My husband and I and our two horses were on our way to Collins Ranch in Hemet California. We had planned to stay three, possibly four nights. Sadly, we had truck trouble and were delayed for two days. Caroline was so gracious and stayed in touch with me the whole time. We were delighted when we finally arrived to see that our horses had roomy paddocks and she had dragged the ring for us which we used to turn out the horses for some much needed exercise. I wish that I'd have had those other days to utilize all they had to offer. The roads around the farm made for great riding. It was a treat meeting both Caroline and Marty. Its the kind of place you hate to leave!". . . (4/14/22) - "We had such a fabulous experience here that I will be going out of my way to come back in the future. First, Caroline was wonderful to communicate with - my travel plans changed and then were up in the air, but she was extremely accommodating. Then, I added another guest and horse and once again, no problem. The facility is spotless and in a wonderful neighborhood for riding, with a mix of quiet dirt roads through vineyards and equestrian estates, as well as trails. It's also gated and I would have felt completely safe even if traveling as a solo female without my friend. We opted for the paddocks for our horses, and they were generously sized with auto waterers and feed troughs and bins. The breezeway barn with stalls/runs also looked very nice. Caroline and Marty are lovely, gracious and generous hosts. When I first arrived, I had to run to an impromptu but important work Zoom and my hot spot didn't work, but they let me take over their home office for 1.5 hours! So, know that wifi/cell may be spotty in places but I was ultimately able to connect to their internet from the guest house and they were always more than happy to accommodate my work needs. (The guest house accommodation was very comfortable too!) Highly recommend, and I will be back!". . . (11/13/22) - "I stayed with Marty and Caroline as I was traveling through on a long trip. They accommodated a late arrival due to bad weather and traffic and made me dinner since I hadn’t had a chance to stop. In the morning, Marty made breakfast while Caroline and I got to hang out and chat. They both helped me clean and re-bed my trailer and fed my horses from their own hay. I will be staying here again!". . . (12/18/22) - "Safe, clean facility. Wonderful people that make the stay a sought-after stop time after time. We haul all over the United States and this is one of the top facilities we have been. Highly recommend stopping here for any traveler."

(12/27/16) - "Rusty and Linda have to be two of the kindest people I have ever met. They made us feel so welcome and helped with any little thing we needed. They went above and beyond what you would expect. The facilities are great. I especially appreciated being able to feed my horse on the rubber mats so she wouldn't pick up sand.". . . (6/23/17) - "Bonfire Ranch is well appointed and has everything a horse and weary traveler might need. Our hosts, Rusty and Linda, went above and beyond to make our stay at their lovely family ranch an experience we will not soon forget. They provided maps and good recommendations for dining. The stalls were comfortable for our horses and the full hookups for the camper were conveniently located. We can't say enough good things about our hosts and their warm reception! We highly recommend Bonfire Ranch if you are traveling with your horse in this part of California!!". . . (10/16/17) - "What a lovely respite after a long haul with a horse from north of Reno, NV. Linda and Rusty were there when we arrived and waved us onto their beautiful, well-kept property. They are sweet and thoughtful hosts, and very thorough in their explanation about the barn and the RV. Three of us ladies shared a comfortable night in their RV. The smallest of us slept on the couch, and the queen bed was quite comfortable for the other two. Quarters are a little tight, so I wouldn't recommend if someone is very tall or if there are more than three in your party (kids, yes). The hosts left drinks (sodas, water) and muffins to get the day started and recommended a restaurant in town (which we could not try this trip). Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this horse motel for weary travelers with your horses.". . . (11/16/17) - "We stayed at Bonfire Ranch for two nights in November 2017. The ranch was beautiful, alongside the incredible kindness and generosity of our hosts. Linda and Rusty were wonderful in helping us with whatever we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay great. They were the definition of hospitality! The facilities were spacious and private, with great scenery to match. Lovely riding only 10 minutes away. This was a little piece of heaven, and we could have easily stayed there longer. Thanks for a lovely time!". . . (9/6/18) - "Rusty & Linda are both incredible hosts! I loved my stay with them dearly. They were so kind to me and my horse Peg during our extended stay in Ridgecrest and went above and beyond to make sure we were both well cared for while waiting for my truck to be fixed. You can't find any nicer folks to stay with. They and their facility are simply lovely!". . . (4/11/19) - "Linda & Rusty greeted us upon arrival. Their hospitality, RV & horse facilities were excellent. My horse settled right in. Stall & corral were clean & well kept. They had fresh clean water available to my horse & was much appreciated. The RV was fantastic. They provided coffee, tea, muffins & home made brownies! We felt right at home. Thank you, Linda & Rusty, for the care you provided to make our stay great.". . . (6/20/20) - "The facilities were spacious, clean and safe. Access has easy pull through areas for trailers. Hosts are fabulous. Views spectacular. The cute and clean RV you can also rent is next to the horse area, so you can always see them. And the entire setup is private and quiet and very secure. Thanks!". . . (3/10/22) - "Linda and Rusty are 2 of the nicest and most helpful people you will ever meet. I have overnited with them numerous times and they have been very accommodating and welcoming- Linda even bakes brownies- a great treat after a day on the road. There is a large arena for turnout and the 2 stalls are secure and matted. Trailer turn around is easy and it is only a few minutes off of 395. I can't speak to nearby accomodations and food for people because I have a LQ trailer- but Ridgecrest is close.". . . (4/2/22) - "Great facility for our horses and so very pet friendly. Our dogs were allowed to hang out with us on several areas and Rusty and Linda are the most wonderful people. We've now stayed here three times. Amazing."

Comments: (6/14/18) - "Diane is a wonderful host! The room is comfortable & pretty. You can sit on the lanai & watch your horses in her beautiful pasture and ride out her back gate & ride to Folsom Lake! Great trails! Also, both Auburn & Loomis are just a couple minute drive with many food options & shopping - can't beat Rustic Ranch.". . . (6/27/18) - "Harris Rustic Ranch is where you want to stay if you want to be comfortable, surrounded by natural beauty and enjoy the most fantastic horse trails right outside your bedroom door.". . . (9/15/18) - "Harris Rustic Ranch sure was an incredible place to stay! Gordon and Diane are so very welcoming! Diane made sure we had everything we needed and we lacked for nothing. Such a relaxing and tranquil environment; plenty of room for your horses in the oak studded large pastures and easy access to many beautiful trails. We spent evenings around the pool and mornings on the verranda sipping our coffee and enjoying the atmosphere of rural country living. We stayed 2 nights and wished for more! We will definitely be back, anxious to spend more time here during the changing seasons enjoying the beauty of the Sierra Nevada foothills, through the year.". . . (5/12/21) - "It was a real treat to stay at Diane Harris' Rustic Ranch for a weekend. My horse was in heaven in the big, green pasture. There are numerous pastures to choose from and Diane went out of her way to make sure that my traveling companion's horse and mine had the right combination of separation but visual proximity to each other to be comfortable and safe. You canl iterally ride for days just outside the gate and that includes trails that run along the North Fork of the American River and Folsom Lake. After a ride, you can swim in the pool, head over to downtown Auburn or Loomis for a bite to eat and then come back and watch the sunset over your horse while it grazes contentedly. The room is part of the main house with a separate entrance and bathroom. It has a mini refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. The room itself is not set up for cooking but with so many sights to see in town, we were happy to go out for dinner. Diane is a warm, gracious and accommodating hostess and Iwould definitely like to come back and explore more of the trails in this beautiful area.". . . (5/19/21) - "Diane at Harris Rustic Ranch was wonderful! We booked our stay last minute, and she was very accommodating and helpful. She made us feel right at home. The ranch is beautiful, and the room is clean and simple. In the morning, she made us avocado toast with a perfectly cooked over-medium egg while we drank coffee and watched our horses graze in her pasture. The trails out her gate are incredibly fun and I cant wait to go to explore them more. I highly recommend Diane's Rustic Ranch.". . . (7/20/22) - "I had a wonderful stay at Harris Rustic ranch. Diane is a great host. She is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. It is a quiet place with pasture acreage and the bonus of a swimming pool. Restaurants and recreation are nearby. I highly recommend Harris Rustic ranch."

Ruth and her staff took care of our horses while we traveled to the coast to visit family! I would definitely recommend Iron Horse; the view of Mt. Shasta from her place was breathtaking!!". . . (11/22/20) - "Very convenient location with easy access right off of I-5. We ended up getting there a little later than we had anticipated but the host was very helpful and accommodating. Temperatures were expected to be below freezing the night we arrived and the water faucets were turned off near our site to prevent pipes from freezing. However, the host brought us water for our horses and even made sure we had extra to top off their buckets in the morning. Very beautiful facilities. Will denitely be back and would like to spend an extra day or so there to enjoy a trail ride or two to break up our travels."

I will definitely be back and would recommend her facility.". . . (1/11/20) - "If you like your horses pens to be cleaned 4 times a day and fed for you morning and evening in a safe and well-maintained place, you will love this place!". . . (2/25/20) - "I cannot say enough about this place!!! Jacqui Tarpley is the REAL DEAL! The Larry Tarpley Training Center is lovingly managed. The stalls are immaculate and the attention and treatment to ALL of the boarders are as if they were her own. I love my horse, and the thought of leaving him anywhere else while traveling through California is unthinkable. I would travel a 1,000 miles out of my way, if needed, to board here because I know my baby will get the best of care in the most capable hands. I would like to add, that Jacqui is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She has decades of experience and is a beacon in the Equine Community! Jacqui is kind, loving, and truly one of the nicest people I have ever met!". . . (7/1/20) - "Jacqui took good care of my horse for the night while I was at a motel. Great place and I would stay there again when in the area. Thanks Jacqui.". . . (5/13/21) - "The best overnight ever. Wish we could move to California just to stay at this ranch. Much love.". . . (6/24/21) - "Jacqui is a hoot and a half. Her property is secure, clean and welcoming. She is a lovely woman with a personality the size of California and a heart even bigger. If you are looking for safe, welcoming and homey for you and your horse, this is the place to come in Norco.". . . (10/27/21) - "Clean, quiet, and friendly. Will definitely return.". . . (11/7/21) - "We live here in Norco and Jacqui is a God sent for us. When we need to go out of town without the horses, she’s right there to help us make it happen. We just load the boys up, drop them off at her place and leave the rest to her. What great peace of mind knowing our horses are well care for. Oh! Make no mistake, she knows her business. She is very horse savvy! Her ranch is always clean and tidy, and the stalls are immaculate with shavings for bedding. It’s what she loves to do. Her prices are very reasonable. My wife, BettyJean, and I (Tim) highly recommend boarding your horses with Jacqui at Tarpley Training Center whether you are traveling though Norco, attending an event in Norco or just need to get away without the horses if you live here in Norco.". . . (12/31/21) - "What a great place to keep our horse on our way to take our daughter to college with her horse. The owner, Jacqui, was so accommodating and receptive to our needs. I felt very comfortable leaving our horse with her.". . . (1/29/22) - "We recently had a layover at Jacqui's ranch. Jacquie has been doing this for a long time so she can answer your questions and knows what you need before you even ask. You can tell when someone loves what they do and they give their all and that is exactly what Jacqui does for the horses and humans that stay here. Her facility and care are the best of the best. She is an absolute gem of a lady. Highly recommend using her for any of your layovers in this area, I for sure will always frequent here with mine! Thank you, Jacqui!". . . (8/19/22) - "10/10 would recommend to a friend. Jacqui is an absolute doll who made sure everything was perfect for our arrival. She stayed out well after dark to help us get our horses settled and even had carrots and treats in the feeders. (She asked first to make sure it was ok that the horses got treats.) Will definitely stay here again!". . . (9/15/22) - "I highly recommend this ranch. My horse was there on a layover & received excellent care.". . . (10/31/22) - '"Jacqui is friendly and so helpful. Unbelievely clean for horses. Great for 2 horse trailers. I felt very comfortable as a single female with her place.". . . (4/27/23) - "Jacqui was very responsive before and during our stay, which made things super easy. The facility itself was really nice and clean. We'd stay there again anytime! Super happy with everything.". . . (4/28/23) - "Beautiful, well-kept place. Very nice shaded pens. Had no problems coming and going. And, close to the rodeo grounds."

I was super impressed with the two little girls' knowledge of the 10+ horses on the place.". . . Comments: (3/4/14) - "Amazing! I can't say enough good things about Larry and Donette and their staff, their facility and hospitality. If you're anywhere near the Stockton area this is the place to stay hands down. They went out of their way to be of assistance and are truly great people. My horses were extremely well kept while I stayed off site in town. I didn't have to worry or wonder. Donette is quite skilled in English and Western riding and a beautiful person inside and out. I highly recommend staying at their facility if you're on the road or just want to go take lessons. They have much to offer the horse community and do so everyday. Sincerely, Kara Felix Lake Stevens, WA.". . . (5/3/14) - "Thank you for a great overnight for my horse. He really enjoyed the 1/5 acre pasture. Thank you for providing a safe overnight.". . . (7/20/14) - "Date stayed: July 2014. Excellent place to overnight. We were in the middle of a trip between states and D'Alonzo was wonderful. We did not get in until after midnight. There was a breezeway and stall lights. The stall light to our particular stall was on, leading us to the right stall to place our horse in. There were fresh shavings, fresh water in the auto waterer and a nice comfortable barn. Plenty of room to pull in and turn around. Very easy to find and only 3 miles off the 5 Fwy. Reasonable rates ($30.00 per horse) and a choice between a 1/5 acre pasture or barnstall. The next morning we were greeted by some folks who had already cleaned our stall out fresh and the owner came out to check on us before we left. Very nice folks and a great place to stopover. Thanks D'Alonzo!!". . . (11/8/14) - "Host was very helpful as we arrived late. Stalls were ready and full of shavings. Great place to stay and we will stay again when traveling that way.". . . (8/17/15) - "This was a port in a stormy trip. Donnette is delightful. We sat in the shade at their picnic tables and relaxed. (our trip was very rough). Stockton is not a place I felt comfortable but this facility is out of the town just enough to be in the beautiful country, yet close enough to town to take care of business. We stayed extra time just because our horse was so rested and we shook off our rough trip. If you are travelling north this place is perfect. The regular boarders are friendly and we were happy to watch the talented riders and gorgeous horses that stay there.". . . (4/4/18) - "Great facility. Our first time there and would highly recommend.". . . (11/15/20) - "Arrived in late afternoon, exhausted. Parked my rig close to the attached paddock for my horse's stall, and napped. Everyone was wonderful, the facility is GREAT, and I highly recommend it. I don't live that far away, but just couldn't make it another mile. Easy access, tons of parking - spic and span!"

Comments: (11/23/19) - "Me and my two TWH stayed two times about a week apart. It was a great half way stop from Portland, OR to Jamestown, CA. The owner, Shelly, was a very gracious host and made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Very positive experience and I'll definitely go back in the future!". . . (7/12/21) - "We were greatly appreciative to the owners of Leasure Acres for not only their clean facility but also the large, secure & safe paddocks for our horses. We were provided with plenty of water, electrical hookup and even the added bonus of ice cold waters and ice cream! Shelly and Dan were super pleasant and friendly but also super kind in helping us with our other needs too. We give them a well deserved 5 STAR rating!!". . . (7/12/21) - "My husband and I and two friends stayed here twice going north and south between the SF Bay Area and Bend. We were offered icy water and ice cream upon arrival. The horse facilities were large and very clean. The hosts were personable and went above and beyond. We couldn't be happier."
