Comments: (7/27/14) - "Terry took me in last minute when I had trailer issues. Took a few times to get through as they are also a dude ranch and RV park. It has seen better days, but the staff is friendly and helpful. They charged more than any other facility and really could be spruced up a bit. Careful of the camels and ostrich on property if your horses are not used to seeing them. Property is safe and near the highway."

Comments: (12/12/03) - "Very professional atmosphere, and kindness shown to animals.". . .(5/23/06) - "We have stayed here & left our horses with these folks for a few days while we ride our Harley through Yellowstone several times. They have been more than accommodating and have a convenient location to the park. We highly recommend them. When you come from GA to WY you are looking for someone you can trust with your horses and these people take good care of our horses. We plan to go back every year.". . .(7/23/08) - "My partner and I were scheduled to stay at the Stage Stop Horse Motel for a few nights of team roping at the Cody Nite Rodeo in late June 2008. Upon our arrival at the Horse Motel, our vehicle was struck by a local truck right in front of the Vail's facility. While there was damage to the truck (which at that point could not pull a trailer) and not to the trailer or horses, our purpose of our trip was clearly at risk. The Vail's immediately made sure we were well, the horses were not injured and then the two horses were properly and safely housed in 15' x 30' clean covered stalls. For the balance of the week, the Vail's provided transporation assistance to the rodeo grounds so we could rope. In the simplest terms, their facility and generous attitude saved our trip. We have nothing but the greatest of admiration and thanks to them for their professionalism, compassion and friendship. The "Positive" rating above does not begin to express our gratitude for having met them and to be able to stay at their facility (our horses think so too). The cabin facilities for my partner and I were excellent, attractive, clean and thoroughly comfortable. The bottom line is their facility (and the both of them) merit ratings that should be far more expansive than that shown. In short, without the Vail's, our roping adventure would have been a complete loss and disappointment.". . . (8/6/10) - "Great place, great hosts, Couldn't ask for more.". . . (2/12/12) - "I have stayed with Paul and Liz on many occasions and these are terrific people. I feel safe leaving for the afternoon to sightsee in town with no fear of leaving the horses unattended. As hosts, Paul and Liz have always made us feel welcome and they are wonderful. If you are traveling through Cody, this is the place to stay."

Comments: (5/27/11) - "Dennis and Maryanne have a beautiful barn/stalls and were outstanding and helpful hosts! We've had the opportunity to see a large number of "horse hotels" as we've moved all over the country with the military and this facility is truly among the best we've seen anywhere. Highly recommended!

Comments: (8/15/07) - "Jodie, the owner, was wonderful! The stalls were perfect for our stay. We were transporting 3 BLM Mustangs to their new homes in Montana and needed secure stalls for them to rest after a long day. We could not have asked for a more perfect set up. The stalls were clean and she had fresh water out for them when we arrived. We stayed in the little cabin at the camp ground and it was great. Jodie loves horses and it really showed! We will stay there again.". . .(9/14/07) - "My husband and I pulled in there late one night and Jody met us and helped with the horses. The stalls were clean and Jody had clean water already for the horses. It was easy to get to and a nice place to park and sleep overnight. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.". . . (8/28/10) - "The owner of the facility was extremely friendly and helpful! I felt that my horse was well watched at night and the stalls and round pen were very well kept and ready for me and my horse when I arived.". . . (6/4/11) - "We had a great stay here. Despite arriving late I was warmly greeted and was able to get the site prepped for my horses. We were able to hook up our trailer right next to the horse corrals. Also very nice (and warm) bathrooms and showers.". . . (7/9/11) - "Big Rig Access. Large pipe pens, 2 round pens available to exercise. Large pull through RV campsite. Friendly staff with full amenities of a nice KOA Campground.". . . (6/25/13) - "Stayed there 4 times in 2012 and once so far in 2013. Big rig access, wonderful covered pens plus 2 round pens. Full RV hookups with all the amenities of a KOA campground. Owner is a horse woman who understands the traveler's needs. WISH ALL KOA's offered this service.". . . (7/9/14) - "Very convenient to I-25 and a safe facility which is most important to me. I would be very happy to stay here again! You will not be disappointed with this facility. If you're lucky, you will meet Jacob. Quite an impressive young man!"

The close proximity to hundreds of miles of riding trails as well as to Jackson, WY cannot be better. The owner, Pia, is a wonderful host and you will instantly become a member of her extended family. I will be back!"

Comments: (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(3/1/05) - "Met us upon arrival, we were able to turn our horses out in the indoor arena for some exercise after a long day of travel. Stalls were great and our horses were ready to travel the next day. Human accommodations were also very nice.". . . (4/13/05) - "Diane and Pam were amazing hosts! The facilities were immaculate and my mare was very content after a long journey. Our room was big and comfortable. We had a wonderful time--great conversation, yummy food, and extraordinary views. Our dog was equally happy, running around as if he owned the place. Thanks, Diane and Pam for a LOVELY stay. Rob and I look forward to returning!". . .(5/19/05) - "Excellent facility and wonderful hostesses!! We were traveling with a Percheron Stallion from Iowa to California and it was great to find this facility on the route. The stalls were very nice and they even offered our stallion a double wide stall so he'd have plenty of room. The room they have in their home for overnight guests was great. Looking forward to our next trip across country and an overnight stay at the Cowgirls Horse Hotel. Thanks for everything Kathy.". . .(10/5/05) - "Diane & Pam were wonderful & hospitable hosts. Our plans had been considerably delayed, but I kept them informed every step of the way & was continually told "not to worry", there was space for us when we arrived. Upon arrival, they treated us like family with an open door. B&B accommodations were comfortable & private. Stable facilities were clean & comfortable. My horse had a stall with a very large-sized paddock that she could run-about throughout the night. It was wonderful to have such excersise for her after such long journey past, & a longer way to go!". . .(11/6/05) - "THE best layover we had traveling 2400 miles with three horses. The horses loved their spacious, clean, exceptional stalls, and my husband and I were equally happy with our accommodations. All of us were treated so well ... none of us wanted to leave! Thank you, Diane and Pam!". . .(12/3/05) - "Very nice stalls. Good convenience to the town, motels, gas stations.". . .(6/27/06) - "We called on very short notice, and they could not be more accommodating. The barn is pure "Martha Stewart". It was so easy to get to, our first time staying there, but clearly not the last. A very welcome layover spot. Thank you.". . .(9/17/07) - "Very nice facility, big stalls, lots of room. Beautiful area, very nice place to stay, super friendly. Recommended!". . .(5/6/08) - "Diane and Pam are fabulous hosts. The stalls were very well-bedded and the barn was clean. Their human accommodations are also wonderful. They even let us bring our kids and critters.". . .(5/30/08) - "This was such a pleasant surprise! The B&B room was unbelievable, and we had full use of the house kitchen. And the dogs were welcome. The horse facility was grand - indoor arena, outdoor paddocks, and very clean, dry and nice indoor stalls. Couldn't ask for a nicer place for the horses. Easy to find right off the highway. Would highly recommend staying here, even for a few days for great riding and accommodations!". . . (7/3/09) - "A Top rated facility both for horse and rider. Always include this layover on your cross country tip. Very close to Interstate.". . . (9/21/09) - "This is a really nice facility and very convenient to the Interstate. We were made to feel very welcome and stayed at their B&B on the property which was quite nice. On our trip we stayed at five horse hotels. This was the only one which asked to see our health certificates. We were happy to show them.". . . (11/12/11) - "This is the most awesome place. We stayed in the B&B also. Can't say enough positive; a must try. The hospitality was over and above. Ladies, ya'll are the greatest!". . . (12/3/12) - "This place is 5 star all the way. Great location right off od Rte. 80. You can't get lost finding this place. It has acess to food store, restaurants, and grain store all on one road. Big indoor arena, clean stalls. The room was very big and had it's own private bathroom. I love, love, love this set up. This is one place if I was traveling to Arizona for an Arabian show I would come back to; it was worth the extra money to stay there rather than in a hotel. Thank you, Diane and Pam.". . . (10/4/13) - "This was a fabulous place to stay as we hauled my daughter's horse across Wyoming. Dianne was simply the best hostess to these road-weary travelers, and one very tired horse. Their place is beautiful, easy to access off I-80, the barn is clean and spacious with a lovely arena to exercise your horse(s), and I joked with my daughter that it would be a great place to get stuck for a few more days (we were heading for Colorado during the flooding). Our beds were super comfortable, and everything clean and cozy. There is a hot tub out on the deck, and Diane even shared her delicious homemade soup with us since we didn't want to unhook our horse trailer during the heavy rain, and hadn't eaten all day. I can't say enough good about our experience. Both my daughter and I would rate her hospitality and the accomodations with A+++. Places like this B&B are few and far between, and definitely worth planning for if you are hauling through southern Wyoming. Next time we will stay longer!!!". . . (10/13/13) - "A great place to stay! We had three old horses making their way from Reno, Nevada to Missouri for retirement pasture. We stopped at Cowgirls for the night and our horses had a great turnout, and we had an AWESOME room! The accommodations are perfect for horses and people! They have a huge indoor arena and the stalls are clean, large and safe. We decided to bring one horse back to Reno with us, and ended up staying again on our return trip, which was just as enjoyable. Their guest room is totally awesome, quiet and serene. This is a great place to stay, and Diane and Pam are just awesome folks. Thanks again!". . . (12/12/13) - "Diane was very accommodating. It was -18° when we arrived; no problem. The B and B was super.". . . (5/28/14) - "My friend and I with 2 horses and two dogs stayed there September, 2011. (The owners called to check on us we were so late). Very nice and very clean. We arrived late due to a blown tire and left early. Host was nice, stalls were huge.". . . (9/12/14) - "Beautiful place. The room is awesome. Very convenient to highway and also to town. Highly recommend this place.". . . (10/14/14)- "Supreme place; clean and safe. Great people and a perfect place to layover. We will be back. Five stars from us."

Comments: (4/1/14) - "We were a party of seven with 7 horses and 4 rigs. We stayed for several days in the summer of 2013. Darrell and Bonnie couldn't be better hosts.. The facilities were great for us and our horses. We could use the campgrounds stock trailers to haul to the mountains rather than move our living quarters. Darrell was able to steer us toward the best areas to ride. We hope to return again."
