Comments: (11/25/05) - "Absolutely a wonderful experience. The McNutt's are gracious, warm people. Their place is beautiful and they could not have been more accommodating. Definitely 5 star quality accommodations for humans and horses!". . .(12/14/05) - "My blue heeler loves going there for vacation. He can exercise on the south 40 acres safely. I enjoy grooming the draft horse and the calves. Very relaxing.". . .(10/1/07) - "We arrived very late and the family helped back in both the horse trailer and the moving van we had. The cabin was amazing. It was a wonderful place to get a good night sleep and was stocked full of wonderful food. We moved from NJ to Colorado with 2 horses, 3 dogs (one sick with heart disease) and two cats. This was our first and favorite stop along the way.", , , (5/22/10) - "The hosts were extremely friendly. Our horses loved the farm. They had pastures and a barn to themselves. Cabin was very rustic in its charm. As a gift our host took amazing pictures of our horses and gave them to us.". . . (11/30/12) - "I recently bought a Belgian in the Amish country, and I made reservations to rest overnight at McNutt Farm II on the way home to North Carolina. (Found it through this site, and thanks.) This visit turned out to be a highlight of our trip! My horse had a safe, spacious, grassy paddock (a stall was also available had we needed it), and my traveling companion and I had comfortable accommodations right next to the paddock, with facilities to prepare our breakfast. Ms. Patty McNutt has a lifetime of experience with horses and teaching horsemanship, and she was also very cordial and welcoming. We ended up staying an extra day to rest, visit, and see the farm, lovely cows and working dogs before our long drive home. This facility is the perfect combination of safe, businesslike, welcoming, and beautiful. Highly recommended.". . . (6/18/13) - "Nice rustic accommodations in a beautiful setting. Plenty of room for horses and goats! Friendly host, thank you!". . . (7/21/18) - "Patty is a charming and helpful person. Her son Michael was there as well and was very welcoming and helpful. He trains boarder collies and gave us a bit of demonstration with his dogs the morning we were leaving - fascinating! Our horses stayed the night in a small fenced-in pasture that was very good. The main PROBLEM was the sleeping accommodations. They were not clean. The log cabin is essentially a bunk house with multiple beds. The windows did not open so it was musty smelling. The towels were old and stained. The shower had not been cleaned out and had all kinds of dead bugs in it - I did clean it b4 we used it! But to top it off, there were a couple of dead mice in a utility sink in the bathroom that were very old and decomposed. Although for horses this seemed like a good spot, I can't recommend the human accommodations. We will not be returning to this location."

Turn out the next day was welcomed. He was there for us when J. was very ill and we needed a quick place for layover. Rates were reasonable. Thanks again, Jim.". . . (8/15/13) - "I want to shout out with a hearty thank you to Jim and the wonderful folks who stay at his barn. We needed a 3 hour stop over to rest the horses on a long haul and this was just the haven we were looking for. Friendly, clean, calm. I will definitely return and recommend whole heartedly. Jim, please give Ed my email address in case he wishes to sell that TWH Mare! Shelagh.". . . (7/16/15) - "Jim Agner was great. We pulled in last night to off-load horses; everything was great. This morning, starting at 6am, one filly would not load. Jim helped us all day to get her loaded and Jim finally got her at 3 pm today. His patience and understanding was so great and over and beyond. Thank you, Jim and family. Highly recommend this horse motel."

(8/30/17) - "We contacted Joyce and Terry prior to our roundtrip to Wayne, IL from New York for accommodations for our horse and ourselves. What a great choice we made. The amenities were perfect for both our horse and us. Terry and Joyce are the most down to earth, pleasant individuals you'll ever meet. I hope we some day have the opportunity to stay with them again.". . . (7/10/18) - "Great place. We have a long, 4 horse LQ but they had plenty of room to turn around. We used one of the turn out pens. Fencing was perfect; no barbed wire. Clean with fresh water in tub. Great facility, clean and neat, right off the interstate. Owners friendly and knowledgeable. Stayed there on the way and planned our return trip so we could stop there on our way back.". . . (7/17/18) - "Wow! Maple Crest farms is such a wonderful place to stay! Joyce went out of her way to make sure our horses and people were comfortable and had everything we needed, even coming in shortly before midnight. Very easy to get to from interstate and very reasonably priced. Clean and neat facilities. We'll be back!!". . . (8/9/18) - "My status of traveling was from upper Michigan to western new York. On this leg of my trip and I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful this farm is. The welcome I got was PHENOMENAL. I'm traveling alone, Chicago traffic put me back quite further than I expected. My arrival time was supposed to be 7:34 pm; I arrived at 9:30 pm. Thankfully this is easy right off the exit as I blew a tire on my trailer. I had about 3 miles to limp and immediately Joyce knew somebody to call. The facilities are BEAUTIFUL and accommodations in the living quarter of the farm are outstanding. I prefer a soft bed and after the day I had, I laid down and my body thanked me for choosing this wonderful place. I would highly reccommend this farm to any horse travelers. I feel my horses are over 100% safe and comfortable and my truck and trailer are on private property vs a hotel parking lot. 5 stars hands down from me and I'm pretty dang particular where my horses sleep.". . . (6/15/19) - "We stayed for 2 nights. Wonderful place and friendly helpful owners.". . . (11/5/19) - "WONDERFUL facility, everything was very clean and up kept. We called around noon of the date we would arrive, no problem for us to lay over that night. The weather delayed us quite a bit and the host was still extremely accommodating. It was raining, 40s for temperature and the wind was 50mph, the host insisted we pull into the indoor arena with our 30+ ft trailer to unload and camp inside that night. By the time we got there it was late and many restaurants were closed, the host got us a frozen pizza from her own freezer. Talk about above and beyond! So happy we stayed. Nice automatic waterers in the stalls and everything was super safe for the horses. Access to a bathroom in the barn was a big plus, will definitely be stopping again if we're on that route!". . . (6/10/23) - "Maple crest horse farm is so convenient to the highway. The owners we're so friendly and helpful in getting me situated into the stalls. The stalls were of adequate size for my big horses and they had automatic waterers so I knew they always would have water which was great. The parking was very good. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone traveling and needing an overnight stay."

Comments: (6/25/22) - "This is by far the best layover facility we have stayed. Tonya and Gary were more than kind and accommodating! They joined us for dinner and drinks at a restaurant in town they recommended, sent us to the best ice cream shop we’ve ever been to, and even left us muffins on our trailer for our early morning take off. The absolute best people.". . . (8/7/22) - "Great stopover. Nice host.". . . (7/8/23) - "Super nice stopover and great host.". . . (10/3/23) - "I cannot recommend a stop more. They were very hospitable and kind, their facilities are lovely and they are accommodating. You can either plug in a trailer, or for a bit extra they have a camper all setup to rent for the night on site. Highly recommend!". . . (10/14/23) - "Absolutely terrific hosts. Very clean facility. Would definitely use again.". . . (3/28/24) - "I can not say enough good things about Tonya & Gary. We came to them due to an emergency as our truck broke down on the highway. They got us set up and helped with horses and everything. They offered us the use of their car. The stalls are huge and clean. Their facility is a work in progress. However, they are in the process of up grading and it is going to be gorgeous! They also have a casita if you need use of one. They have an indoor and outdoor as well as outdoor paddocks for your use. Again, I can't say enough great things. They took us in and treated us like family and made a terrible situation just a bit better. If you get the chance, you have to stay here. I'll be back in June and am happy to say I wont just be staying at a motel, I will be staying with friends."

(11/30/21) - "The Host of Bit of Heaven Farm in Ohio thought of everything a traveler with horses would need! The facility is beautiful, quality built, exceptionally clean, secure, private, well laid-out and extremely comfortable for both humans and horses. Parking your horse trailer is easy and there is plenty of room to unload and load your horse. The stalls, pastures and guest quarters are ample and well appointed. My horses were immediately happy and comfortable and I felt very safe. Booking a stay was easy and the price is affordable. I highly recommend Bit of Heaven farm.". . . (6/8/22) - "If you are traveling along Interstate 70 through Ohio, Bit of Heaven is a must stay. The facilities for horses are beautiful and provide a quiet and safe place for their rest. The living quarters for owners are top notch! Don't waste money on a hotel, stay within eye and earshot of your horse(s). Sarah, the host, is so friendly and helpful. She provides a place that is centered on comfort in style!". . . (12/7/22) - "I highly recommend staying at Bit of Heaven Farm! Sarah was a phenomenal host, and the facility was perfect and has everything we needed. It has a gorgeous barn with space for turnout, beautiful stalls, and comfortable living quarters that are in close proximity to the stalls. I cannot recommend this farm enough! If you need to stay in Ohio for a layover with your horse and/or pets, this is the place you should go!". . . (3/7/23) - "Wow! This facility was fantastic. This was our first experience using a horse hotel and Bit of Heaven Farm has set the bar high. Sara was super friendly and helpful. The barn / stalls were super clean. Sara made our stay ( horses and humans) comfortable and stress-free.". . . (6/1/23) - "The name says it all! We couldn’t of felt any safer, and my horses couldn’t have been any happier! The price and location was perfect. The owner was professional and welcoming. The place was immaculate! We stayed in our living quarters, but they have several options to sleep. Sarah, the owner, had a large bucket of water, waiting for our horses and a list of places to eat. Downtown was 5 minutes away and we loved it! Definitely a 5 star recommendation!!". . . (6/15/23) - "Impeccably clean, adorable little place. Super quiet, gorgeous facilities. We ended up not having a horse with us so only used guest accommodations but barn was sparkling clean and accommodations were perfect. So thankful for this farm and if I’m ever in the area again, I know I won't be using ANYWHERE else.". . . (6/28/23) - "Absolutely wonderful. Sarah is amazing. Will definitely stay there again in our travels. Best horse hotel ever!". . . (6/30/23) - "We had a great layover with Sarah at Bit of Heaven Farm. The paddock was clean and beautiful with sunny and shady spots. We could look out and see the boys whenever we wanted from the comfy room we stayed in. The farm is an easy drive to town which has a nice farm supply store and several great places to eat. She went out of her way to help us find a place to buy a piece of equipment when ours had broken and to get us advice on the best highway to take across New York. Hopefully we'll get to stay there again.". . . (7/13/23) - "This beautiful farm was our overnight stop for myself, husband, 2 pups and my mare. I can not say enough about how wonderful our stay was! Everything was perfect and we all got the much needed rest to finish our journey. Beautiful, clean, comfortable accommodations for horse and humans. Sara was a lovely warm hostess. Honestly we didn’t want to leave. It was a "Bit of Heaven" for sure!!!". . . (3/11/24) - "This was my second stay here and it was wonderful! We stayed in the pet friendly room and had two horses and a dog with us. The horses stayed in the paddock and were happy and dry. Sarah was wonderful to work with and very helpful. Although we chose not to leave during our stay she provided a list for possible dining and left us a small breakfast setup for the morning. I highly recommend Bit of Heaven Farm!"

(8/30/17) - "Visited Shillelagh Farm on 8/16/17. Were very happy with the barn setup for our horse. There was room to drop our trailer (2 horse) for the night along with another 2 horse that was traveling with us. No major hotel chains nearby, but we found a very nice B&B called the Lost Pearl that was located about 3 miles away from the barn. Didn't seem like there were a ton of restaurant choices and we had to take a 20 minute drive to get to a gas station that had diesel. But would still use this barn again.". . . (5/1/18) - "Very nice place to stay. Quiet, clean and convenient. The host is very friendly and respectful. Highly recommend.". . . (6/10/18) - "Chris & Toby were very helpful. Toby met us to get settled and make sure we were all set. Very nice area and easy access.". . . (11/12/18) - "Paul was very hospitable and was happy to put my horse up last minute. Facility was clean and stall was ready when we arrived. Stable is close to highway and major hotels. Would definitely stay again!". . . (8/18/19) - "Great folks, very helpful and friendly. Very convenient to the highway also. Definitely would stay again.". . . (4/18/21) - "We stayed at Shillelagh Farm about 4 years ago and again this weekend. I would highly recommend them if you’re in need of a layover somewhere. Toby is incredibly friendly and accommodating. He had us call when we were getting off the exit and met us at the end of the driveway. He drove his tractor right up to the back of our trailer so my daughter could clean out the back of the trailer and dump it in the tractor bucket. The stall was clean with shavings and a water bucket had fresh water waiting. We have a 3H with living quarters and he had an extension cord waiting to plug us in. It is a tighter area for a large trailer, but easily maneuverable with backing up and readjusting. I only gave a neutral rating for security and monitoring because I don’t know if there’s cameras, etc. However, we felt completely comfortable as we were staying on site. I also gave a neutral rating to “proximity to human food and lodging” because we didn’t need it, so I don’t know what’s available. I would highly recommend and I’m sure we will be staying there again!". . . (7/2/21) - "Toby was on site to greet us and very helpful with unloading our horses and getting everyone settled. There was a small pasture adjacent to the barn which he allowed our horses to use to stretch out and the barn and stalls were very clean. One must be careful with a large rig but, with care, it is accessible and we were able to plug into 110V power which was all we needed. This will be our third time staying there and couldn’t be happier. Most of all, the owner couldn’t be more hospitable!". . . (10/1/21) - "Awesome horse hotel. Best part was Chris greeting us with a flashlight in the drive...no figuring out where we belong!!! We have a 38' living quarters and it fit fine. . . you do need to know how to back well. Facilities were very very clean. Fresh water waiting. We were going to take a paddock and out board and forgot we have a cushings horse (new to us). Chris switched without an issue.". . . (3/27/22) - "Toby and Chris were so nice and helpful! This is the second time we have used their facility for a layover. They were very helpful with food and lodging suggestions - all of which were close by. The horses were comfortable and well rested for the next days’ trip. We traveled with a 26ft horse trailer and a 20ft enclosed trailer - there was plenty of parking for both. Toby made sure the water buckets stayed full overnight and kept a close eye on the horses so we could rest and refuel. 10/10 recommend Shillelagh Farm.". . . (1/17/24) - "Thanks so much for putting us up during a horrible winter storm. Host was very welcoming and the barn was very comfortable on a very stormy night."

Comments: (10/17/22) - "Robin was a gracious host and took very good care of my mare from the time she arrived until we picked her up 2 days later. She sent me texts and had great communication the entire time. I will recommend their place to anyone and will use it again on my trips through Ohio. Thank you Robin.". . . (10/25/22) - "We spent one night at R/C Stables in Plain City OH. We called on spur of the moment due to last minute change. Robin answered and had stabling! Beautiful place! Clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommended! Quiet! Very friendly host. We will go back again in the fall. She sent us info for activities we could do in the area. Reasonably priced.". . . (11/2/22) - "Great place to stay for our overnight stop on our way from Oklahoma to New York. Hosts were very accommodating, helping us get our truck and trailer situated, and we were an hour late arriving due to construction. We opted to have our 2 horses in the arena overnight (they weren’t used to green grass), but there was a good sized green pasture and stalls available. Fresh water was provided and ready for the horses as soon as they were off the trailer. The horses enjoyed stretching their legs, and we enjoyed a quiet night of rest. Overall excellent stay and would stay again.". . . (4/24/23) - "Robin was amazing. So friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.". . . (5/9/23) - "Very nice place to stay. Robin was great and so friendly. A little far from I-70 but close to food and stores. Nice barn, large pasture for my boys. Good parking. I was able to walk my dogs on a beautiful woods trail around the property. Beautiful.". . . (6/19/23) - "Robin was extremely accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend!!!". . . (6/30/23) - "Wonderful facility and Robin was very friendly and helpful. She was waiting outside as we arrived and my horse enjoyed himself as well. I can't wait to book again and a bit longer!! I highly recommend R/C Stables!". . . (8/6/23) - "We were extremely happy with our stay at R/C stables. The hosts were friendly, helpful and kind. The facility was beautiful and clean and we were made to feel at home. The area is lovely with plenty of places to eat and things to do. Also some beautiful riding trails nearby. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the farm to friends. 10+". . . (9/23/23) - "Fantastic! Beautiful! Nice, clean, safe stalls and paddock and pasture. Host is very helpful and pleasant. It’s a great place! Highly recommend. This is the second time we stayed here and will be back again.". . . (10/12/23) - "Traveling alone as a woman can always be a little nerve wracking, so pulling up to this beautiful facility in a safe neighborhood was a very welcome sight. During my trip I was moving my gelding, a mini, and 5 goats. The pastures were large with adequate horse fencing. My goats were able to stay in a stall. The barn was secure and the lighting was excellent. Water was available. The RV hookup situation looked great, but my trailer was full of moving goods so I ended up sleeping in a partially furnished area of the barn. I didn't see any signs of mice or spider infestation, and there were no unpleasant odors. The host let me know I should bring a cot, but I didn't have room so I slept on a makeshift bed on the floor. The hosts were extremely kind and generous with their time. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for your hospitality!". . . (10/19/23) - "Robin hosted my parents for a few days and everything was perfect. They were able to communicate with her even though they speak very little English. She really cares about you needing anything. Highly recommended.". . . (11/1/23) - "This horse motel was awesome. The host met us with a smile and immediately took my horse to his clean stall. Nightly checks, morning checks and videos sent. So very nice. I will plan on using this facility in the future.". . . (2/15/24) - "Robin has been really helpfull with getting us to the vet facilities when my horse had colics after getting off the trailer. She was there the whole time, very supportive and she made sure everything went all right with the horse, even after my departure. She was a blessing to me, helping get all I needed to get the horse back to health."

The hosts were very friendly and lovely. The horses had nice big stalls away from other horses.". . . Beautiful farm, Diane was away for a show but answered my request in a timely manner and told us her husband Jeff would be there in her absence.
