Comments: NOTE FROM OWNER: In response to people leaving neutral comments regarding us not being close to food or lodging: There is a hamburger place directly across the street from us and within less than a mile there is a Dions (pizza and subs); a Panda Express (Chinese); a Subway; a sit down Pizza place and a sit down restaurant. Additionally, we do NOT pace back and forth in front of the stalls 24/7 and do not have surveillance cameras in the stalls. HOWEVER, we do live on the premises and can see the entire facility (which is kept locked at all times) from our house. Multiple motels/hotels are located within 10 minutes of us as we are 10 minutes from the airport.
(Editor's Comments): Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.
(11/15/16) - "After arriving on a late & drizzling night we discovered that the place where we were staying did not have an indoor stall for our horse. We called Susan & she quickly had a stall all ready to go for us and was out at the gate waiting. We can't thank her enough for helping us out.". . . (1/11/17) - "Horses were comfortable and the guest house was awesome! Thank you!". . . (4/29/17) - "Giant, gated, locked trailer parking, stalls with tremendous bedding. Have stayed here 8 times back and forth from IL to Phoenix. Nothing can be improved upon. Awesome experience. Susan is great. A million thumbs up. AA+++++.". . . (9/23/17) - "Susan was very helpful; loved our stay here.". . . (3/18/18) - "We were greeted at the gate, which closed securely behind us. Everything was immaculate, and Denora was so friendly! She asked if we would like to let the horse stretch her legs in the arena and then showed us to the stalls which are very large. We walked to the taco truck across the street and it was wonderful! Picked up supplies at the 7-11. Couldn't have been better in any way! Excellent experience!". . . (4/2/19) - "We stayed at Broken M on April 23, 2019 and April 29, 2019. It is a wonderful facility and within a mile of a Walmart and numerous places to eat. Great location!". . . (3/28/20) - "This is about my fifth time staying here. The stalls are always really clean with fresh, full water buckets. Their room and styles and there's an arena for turn out in the morning so the horses can get a little run. We also appreciate the very large area to pull trailers in and turn around, and the fact that the whole place is fancy and very secure.". . . (9/30/20) - "Great facility! Stayed at Broken M Ranch on 9/30/20 with our new horse and rented the Bunk House as well. Clean stall, fresh shavings, full water bucket and friendly staff. I'd highly recommend this facility. Plenty of room for parking with your horse trailers. Will definitely use again if needing accommodations in New Mexico."(4/12/21) - "What a wonderful surprise!! Never had used horse motel. Stalls were safe, filled with fresh water and our mules must of rolled 5 times!! Susan's bunkhouse ,"Duke's" was warm and inviting. Comfy bed with snacks for the sweet tooth. Be back fur sure!". . . (5/14/24) - "Would recommend and definitely use again if the need should arrive. Stayed in one of the homes on the facility and it was very clean and welcoming.", , , (8/23/24) - "What a lovely place to stay overnight while traveling with a pony from Moab, Utah to Lubbock, Texas. Owner greeted us on arrival. The covered, outside stall was perfect for our pony It was spacious and clean with a large bucket of fresh water in the stall. A feed bucket was also available. My husband and I stayed in the lovely cottage on the premises. Very well decorated. The AC was much appreciated. The kitchen had all we needed, including cereal and cereal bars. There was cold water in the fridge. The bed was very comfy. The shower was great with lots of different bottles of shampoo etc. for the guests use. The cottage was clean and inviting. Will definitely recommend this facility to my horse friends who might travel to or through Albuquerque."

(9/2/21) - "Very nice facility for us and our horses.". . . (10/12/21) - "OUTSTANDING property for SO many reasons- meticulously clean stalls, OVER the TOP friendly property manager who went over the top to clean not only our 3 boys' stalls, but our trailer too! Tons of human food options close by. Very secure! Has total RV hook ups, but also shower, toilet & washer/dryer for your use. All of this for AWESOME price! Stop by! You will not be sorry! They will be this snowbird's stop 2x a year!! Thank you.". . . (6/23/22 - "Our visit exceeded expectations! Very clean, secure location. Easy to get to and close to fuel and food. Staff/management were incredibly helpful. We will be back for sure!". . . (3/2/23) - "Our overnight stay was so positive that I had to write this review. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, even cleaning our trailer out while we fed our horses. Pens were large, safe and immaculate. Look forward to staying there again next year when we pass through.". . . (9/20/23) - "This is a great place to overnight! We needed a last minute stop and they made it happen. They met us even though it was late, showed me where to put my horse and stayed to make sure we were hooked up to electricity. The run was covered and was large enough for my horse to stretch his legs. Easy to maneuver the trailer and level ground to park on. A little off the interstate but well worth it. You won't regret stopping here. Thanks!!!!"

(11/7/18) - "Very happy with the accommodations. Nice, big, very well bedded box stalls with fresh water upon arrival, my mares were instantly comfortable. Maggie is the sweetest!". . . (2/22/19) - "We have travelled from Pennsylvania to Arizona and Wyoming many times with our horses and stayed at many horse motels, Open Heart G was one of the nicest! Great facility, great people! Everything is just as it says!". . . (3/6/19) - "We stayed here on our way to Wickenburg and it was fantastic. James and Maggie are the best hosts and have a wonderful place. We liked it so much we stayed there on the way home. I would highly recommended this place to anyone. As a special treat as to bottle fed the calf.". . . (12/4/19) - "Maggie and all, I want to thank you for all your help with my horse as I was recovering from an injury that happened in Arizona. Your facilities are always very great and hospitality beyond wonderful.". . . (12/12/19) - "Maggie is terrific! Great facility, super clean, large turnouts and truly appreciated how everything was ready when we arrived. This is our second year staying with Maggie, highly recommend this ranch.". . . (2/26/20) - "This was a GREAT place to stay!! Clean, neat as a pin facility. We stayed in the bunkhouse, which is so great to not have to go to town to a motel. Made for an easy, early start in the morning. We will always stay at this facility when we are traveling through. Maggie is as organized a person as I have ever met and her and her husband run a great facility. 5 ++++ stars!". . . (10/30/20) - "James and Maggie were awesome, and so is their facility. Theirs is a small, but real, working ranch. Their cattle and other critters give the place an air of the real southwest and the grounds and facilities are neat, solidly built, and safe. The grounds are well maintained. The facility is convenient to I-10 and there is plenty of room for big rigs. Make sure to get some fresh, shelled pecans from their own orchard. The bunkhouse and/or RV hookups let you stay on their property, close to your horse(s). Thanks, James and Maggie for a great visit. I hope to return soon.". . . (4/6/21) - "We loved our stay with Open Heart Farms. It was easy to find, just a minute off the interstate. Maggie and James were very friendly, and worked with us on our dates as the weather caused some travel delays. Our horses stayed in a large outside pen, but inside stall's are available. The farm is a family run cattle and pecan operation, very clean and organized. Be sure and buy some fresh pecans while you are there!". . . (4/28/21) - "Very safe and comfortable for me and my horse. I highly recommend it.". . . (1/31/22) - "At a recommendation, I stayed here for several nights and commuted to our competition venue rather than stay there. I am SO glad I did! Absolutely worth the daily commute. Easy and quick access off of the I-10. Private area. Super responsive hostess. Cleaned and prepped our stalls daily! I’ve already changed my itinerary for my next trip making this my #1 spot in the area. The cabins are awesome!". . . (11/19/22) - "We really enjoyed our stay at Open Heart G Farms. Maggie and James were very kind, accommodating hosts. We stayed, with our two horses, for 10 days while my husband was working at Fort Bliss and couldn't be happier with our choice. Easy access off the highway. Nice clean facility with sturdy fencing and structures. Plenty of room for big rigs to maneuver. 30 amp hookup and water for our living quarters so we were very comfortable. And the pecans are delicious! Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended! (And thanks for the trail ride Maggie. I hope to come back some day and ride with you again.)". . . (5/15/23) - "Maggie met us as soon as we pulled up, 3 vehicles w/ 3 trailers. She was very flexible in helping us get our 3 horses settled. Really nice, big turnouts, with stud panels to separate them, barn stalls were bedded down nicely, quiet and cool. People cabins were quaint and cozy with great AC.". . . (8/27/23) - "I have stayed here at least 6 times and sent dozens of people to the ranch. It is a wonderful safe place to stay. She has 2 really cute cabins also."

Comments: (12/27/19) - "We stayed here both directions on our November haul. The proximity to highway 10 and town (host gave us a fantastic fueling location top!) proved very beneficial. Host super responsive to text messages during haul and immediately greeted us upon arrival. Pull through parking (easy) and stalls steps away. Has a fantastic casita. Highly recommend!". . . (12/11/12) - "Martin and his family were Wonderful. Nice pens, clean, and nice shelter and good level parking spot. We had a bad accident on US 10 after staying the night. My husband broke his leg and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. I called Martin as I had 2 horses, 2 large dogs , and a cat and did not know what to do. He came to the accident site, transported me, dogs, cat, and horses to his home and allowed me and pets to reside in a trailer he had while my husband was at the hospital for 3 days. Martin and his family were the best of the best, helping me however they could. He took me into Deming to get things from our MH, offered dinner with his family, fixed parts on our horse trailer so we could get to AZ safely. They lent me a car to transport my husband. They went above and beyond anything you could imagine. We will never forget their kindness and help. Please consider his place when traveling. You will not be sorry. Linda.". . . (12/16/20) - "Best horse facilities I have seen. Super clean. Budget stalls. Terrific customer service.". . . (3/29/22) - "Host Martin Ridgway couldn’t have been friendlier. He met us at his driveway to make sure we got our 3 horse LQ trailer pulled in safely. Horses stayed in a large pen with a covered area, including hay racks. Water was fresh and clean upon our arrival. Easy pull in/out. Although our last name is the same, we are not related (that we know of anyway). Martin gave us a tour of his ranch that included peafowl, mini-horses, Scottish Highland cattle, miniature longhorn cattle as well as some more typical farm critters. He highly recommended a nearby restaurant, the Adobe Deli (we also highly recommend) and loaned us an ATV so we didn’t have the hassle of unhooking our pickup. While we stayed in our LQ horse trailer, we toured an available B & B style room (casita), detached from the main house. Very nice/clean with a private bath/shower. Host is in process of making more rental units and we look forward to seeing those. There are extra amenities (including hot tub) but suggest calling to find out what is available during the season of stay and to ensure there is space available to meet your needs. Extra hay was available for purchase at a reasonable price. Easy access from I-10 yet quiet and removed from road noise. My wife & I will definitely return on our next trip to Arizona."

(2/15/22) - "I absolutely loved our stay at Lazy Sue Ranch. I called the same day and she was quick to respond, extremely kind, and told us how to get there. Upon arrival she had the waters filled, the stalls were huge and immaculate and my horses were so relaxed and happy. We had water electric and sewage hookups and it was easily accessible.", , , (3/8/22) - "Nice large stall/paddock area. Plenty of room to move your rig, nice open area and full hookup. Price for the overnight was very competitive. All in all, a great place! Sue was on spot and very welcoming and made me feel safe and secure as a woman traveling alone. Thanks!". . . (5/1/22) - "A very clean and friendly facility. I had called ahead and Miss Sue had my stalls... fresh, clean water and hay ready for me. She even helped me unload. An EXTREMELY TRUCK AND TRAILER FRIENDLY FACILITY. I transport across the U.S. and I have to say, this is one of the most equine friendly facilities I stay at. There is a restaurant within 2 miles that is a destination must. Motels are 7 miles. It gives me a great piece of mind to know my Precious Cargo is Safe, Relaxed and Comfortable.". . . (11/25/22) - "Very clean, big stalls has great employees and All around a great place to stay.". . . (12/11/22) - "Sue is very accommodating. Clean and secure facility. Highly recommended. For dinner try the Adobe Grill.". . . (1/23/23) - "This was our second stay at Lazy Sue Ranch. Sue makes us feel at home, horses are top priority. The horse facilities are awesome with large stalls with attached runs. Make sure to eat at the Adobe Deli, you will not be sorry. Great food , service and the largest portions I have ever seen!!. . . Can't say enough about the facility and the value!!!!". . . (5/1/23) - "I love staying at Lazy Sue Ranch; it’s my favorite spot to stay. I know when I come here Sue will take care of not only my ponies but me, too. Sue is the kind of women who will take the shirt off her back to help you. I can never thank Sue enough for the kind of care she provides.". . . (9/6/23) - "I was traveling from CA to TX. The Lazy Sue Ranch was a perfect stop. Sue was there when I arrived with my horses. The facilities were immaculate and large stalls. I felt so comfortable and welcome staying at the ranch. I didn't have a living quarters trailer, so being able to rent the RV was a blessing. Fresh and clean water in both stalls. This is a trip I will be taking often and will always be stopping at The Lazy Sue on my trips.". . . (10/7/23) - "Super nice facility, stalls were clean, they put fresh water in the stalls when they knew we were coming, the tanks were clean, the feeders were clean! It was almost 11 o’clock at night when we arrived and they greeted us. We were hauling three yearlings that had never been anywhere, They helped me put them away and get them settled in. Just an overall extremely pleasant stay. You couldn’t ask for a better place. Easy to get our big trailers in and out. RV spots at 50 Amps. We were able to plug in comfortably. Highly recommend !!!". . . (11/8/23) - "What an awesome place to stay!! Sue is such a neat lady and met us when we got there to make sure we had everything we needed. Huge, clean, safe stalls with huge runs attached. Plenty of room for big rigs to get around, and full RV hookups. We have stayed there twice in the last month and would definitely stay there again. We very highly recommend Lazy Sue Ranch!". . . (8/15/24) - "Great paddocks with sheds and clean automatic waterers. Sue was friendly and knowledgeable about area and horses. Plenty of room to turn around and park. Awesome full hookups."

If you're traveling through New Mexico near his place and don't require stalls for your horses, I highly recommend Tom's place!". . . (7/14/21) - "Tom is one of the nicest people you could meet, and helped us out when we were there in a bind with a broken down truck pulling horses. Can’t say enough nice things. Primitive camping but electric access, horses loved the clean paddocks with Mountain View’s and so did we!"

(12/6/20) - "WOW, what a great place!! Extremely easy access off I-40. My two horses were in a super nice and safe paddock with bedded run-in shelter. Had 30-amp hookup for LQ trailer. Since we'd been on the road for several days, we opted to spend the night in one of the (AirBnB) rooms. It is an extension off the main house with a private entrance. To say it was immaculate and first class would be an understatement. There was a sitting/tv room, fully tiled bathroom, and large bedroom complete with Keurig/fridge/microwave/ and complimentary food & beverages. I would HIGHLY recommend this for an overnight stop. Actually a great place to spend several days. Owners were very friendly and helpful.". . . (2/3/21) - "Excellent—immaculate and comfortable facility for both horse and owner! Human lodging available and more than adequate—almost like being a houseguest. The quiet of the country with a beautiful view but just minutes from food, fuel, and the interstate. We can’t recommend this place enough.". . . (2/28/21) - "So happy we chose to overnight at Sweet Melody Farm!! Victoria was a great host. She placed our boy in a nice, clean paddock, with plenty of room to either be outside or inside. Fencing is perfect and safe, water was clean and full. The property is secure and plenty of room to turn around with your trailer. We were not able to stay at her rooms, so she referred us to a close hotel.". . . (5/27/21) - "Victoria was as accommodating as anyone could hope for. We had such a WONDERFUL time and stay there! I plan on returning and, better yet ,I met a new Friend. 🌻". . . (5/28/21) - "Victoria was a fantastic and friendly host and offered my sheep (first time traveling with sheep instead of horses) a great little paddock that had a small shelter in it along with wild oats to enjoy! The airbnb that was also offered was beautiful and decked out with amenities and comfortable beds. We had a wonderful evening sitting out on the back patio, watching the sunset and having a glass of wine.". . . (6/5/22) - "Victoria was super helpful! We stayed overnight on our way from Texas to Colorado and the facility was immaculate, secure, and perfect for my three horses & donkey. Highly recommend Sweet Melody Farm!". . . (6/6/22) - "Victoria is a wonderful hostess. Her directions to her place were very helpful and she was a pleasure to talk to when I called for information about her accommodations. She met me as I pulled in and offered help with unloading and putting horses in the pen. The horse pen is plenty big enough for several horses. Pen was clean and water tank freshly filled. Good fencing as well. My horses were very comfortable and it was nice to be able to stay on the property with them. The human sleeping accommodations were clean and so comfortable. Will definitely stay at Sweet Melody Farm on my next trip through.". . . (7/1/22) - "I was pleasantly surprised to show up to a place that was ‘as advertised’. It was very clean. The turn out for the horse was HUGE and the fencing was safe and secure. The bedding was fresh. The water tank was clean and fresh. The rv pad and hookups were great and level. We were very pleased and will DEFINITELY stop over here again. Great Big 5 stars on this one.". . . (7/5/22) - "Fantastic layover! My mare was so excited to be turned out in a large paddock for the night. You’re surrounded by other farms so there are other horses around as well as the owner's horses so even if you’re a single horse traveler they’ll have buddies around. Super clean and nice quiet area for everyone to have a restful night.". . . (4/9/23) - "Sweet Melody Farm is easy to find, and navigating our 33' trailer around the facility was no problem. Victoria met us upon arrival and settled the horses and us in promptly. She was very nice and helpful with local knowledge, ie where the good diesel prices are! The horses had a very large turnout and a solid structure for shelter. All the fencing is in top shape as well. The property is well kept, I will definitely stay here again in the future.". . . (7/18/23) - "This is a clean and welcoming Horse Facility to board horses for a night(s). The host is very kind and friendly. This is the best horse hotel we have experienced. Definitely a 5 star stay for our horses!". . . (12/18/23) - "Absolutely beautiful place, perfect for horses and you also! I’d recommend this place to everyone, will definitely stay again!!!!". . . (12/19/23) - "Great layover spot for horses and humans. It was easy to communicate with Victoria and everything was even better than described. Definitely recommend."

Comments: (11/14/14) - "Talk about a little bit of paradise... this place is tucked away in the most beautiful place for miles! The barn is state of the art and the entire grounds is nothing less than spectacular! Rose, the owner, greeted us with such kindness and warmth at night, only to be followed up with great conversation the following morning. I truly hope to stay here again if not just for the facilities, but because of the hostess!!! I wanted to delay our trip and stay another day just to hang out.... Thank you!". . . The Owner was so sweet and very good to work with. This place was so so Amazing! I can't thank her enough. We called in short notice and they had the stalls ready. It was Awesome! I would denitely recommend to anyone to stay there and I would do it again in a heart beat!! Thank you so much, Carter's Stables. You were a lifesaver to us!!". . . (3/4/23) - "Exceptional! We travel a lot with our horses and Rose’s facility is the finest we have visited. Beautiful indoor stalls opening out to attached runs. Stalls lightly bedded, clean with auto waterers, warm if traveling in poor weather, cooling fans for warmer days/ nights. Fully serviced RV lot right beside your horses, easy access in and out. Rose is an excellent host, easy to communicate with and she made everything so easy. Highly recommend this hotel."

(4/8/22) - "Lovely facility with friendly hosts! I loved being able to stay in the bunkhouse right next to the barn, which made it easy to keep an eye on my horse. Plenty of room to get larger rigs turned around. Hosts were super accommodating and easy to work with. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again!". . . (5/8/22) - "I have stayed there 4 times so far, The owners are wonderful to talk with, very good communication, and will help with anything that needs to be done. Their bunkhouse is phenomenal, plenty of parking and very large turnaround for any type of big trucks. The stalls are very safe, secure and indoors. Very professional horse motel.". . . (5/13/22) - "This is a working horse and cattle ranch. Hosts were very nice and let me shower in the cute bunk house (no one staying in it), even though we were in our own LQ. Would recommend.". . . (5/13/22) - "We cannot say enough good things about this facility! While headed from TX to OR we had an unplanned stop in Grants, NM and needed last minute boarding for 2 horses and a safe place to stay for myself and my daughter. I called and we were greeted by the best hosts ever and taken care of quickly. They even had vacancy in their bunkhouse. We scored big with this place and I look forward to staying here again. Thanks for your hospitality!". . . (11/18/22) - "On day 4 of our trip from Ontario, Canada to Arizona, we vetoed a facility that wasn’t good. We called last minute to Danny and got 4 big indoor stalls and the bunkhouse. To quote my wife “ this was the best facility for the horses and us on our trip.”. . . (8/24/23) - "My FAVORITE of all horse motels. Family run and gorgeous setting. Spotless facility, great box stalls. Easy access, plenty of space for trailers!". . . (8/27/23) - "Both Danny and Jodie were fantastic. Called weeks ahead of time to make reservation for 3 horses and bunkhouse. Had to change plans by 12 hrs and all was well. Closer to Hwy. 40 than map really depicts. Food 10 minutes away. Bunk house can hold 8-9 people, good AC and very comfortable. Will use this place again.. . . (12/2/23) - "Jodie and her crew were amazing to work with as we traveled through NM on our way to Vegas with 8 horses and 2 couples. This was our first experience utilizing a horse motel. We were concerned and a little skeptical, even though we had read all the rave reviews ahead of time. Jodie, thank you for everything! Your place is clean, safe and equipped with everything needed and then some for horses and humans. The stalls were clean, spacious and safe! The barn stayed warm with no buckets freezing even though the temps dipped into the mid 20s. Oh, and the bunkhouse, you said "everything you need is provided"! You weren't kidding! Thank you THANK YOU THANK YOU! You have set the bar HIGH for the horse motels to follow! We will be back!". . . (1/7/24) - "Danny and Jodie couldn't have been more helpful with our arrival and over night stay with our family. Weather in the area had delayed our forward movement and their hospitality was 5 Star. Beautiful ranch and I would recommend a stay there anytime.". . . (3/16/24) - "We are return customers and have been very happy with the facility. Location and accommodations were just what we needed. The hosts are very nice people and make you feel right at home.". . . (8/11/24) - "My new favorite place to stay when traveling I-40. Family operated ranch. They make you feel at home. Nice Bunkhouse if needed, box stalls."

Comments: (11/25/22) - "Excellent experience, I’ve boarded my horse for several days on multiple occasions for business travels. I live in Colorado and come down several times a year. The airbnbs are immaculate, complimentary drinks, coffee, and snacks. Host is able to provide veterinary, farrier and grooming in my absence. Highly recommend this facility.". . . (11/27/23) - "The reason for a negative comment. They had one electrical hook up, right up against a rented casita, in a pathway for the farm tractor. There were goat head weeds around the area of the trailer. Horse part was good . People part not so much."

It’s just off the highway, easy access but not noisy at night. The horses loved it there!". . . (10/22/23) - "Host Barbara McCrimmon was very friendly and helpful. The facility was safe and very adequate and easy to find. Nice motel and excellent food very close. I would definitely stay there again."

(7/28/15) - "The only place that could be nicer is our own home. Top facility, other stables we've used in our travels could take lessons from Glen Bruton.". . . (3/26/16) - "Just wonderful ! Very clean, well maintained and safe facilities. We called a couple of hours ahead of time and everything was ready when we arrived. Excellent, friendly, and knowledgable host!!". . . (4/30/16) - "Convenient to interstate, friendly, clean, safe. Thank you so much.". . . (7/27/16) - "The best place to layover EVER...period...perfect place...perfect security...less than a mile to motels...perfect host...a true cowboy.". . . (9/25/17) - "Very nice place to stay for my horse and myself. Felt safe. Inside stalls with shavings or outside pens or both. Pens big enough for the horse to walk off stiffness after a long day of traveling. Would stay again." . . . (3/14/18) - "Glen was an awesome host and has very nice, clean facilities. If I have to shut down in Raton, NM again, I will definitely give him a call.". . . (9/3/18) - "Very friendly. Very nice stalls with pipe fencing turn out. Very safe, clean. Easy access from interstate. Plenty of trailer parking. Close to hotels. Highly recommend.". . . (7/7/21) - "We stayed here the last two Aprils on our way home to MN. The owners live on site and traffic must drive past the house on the way to the barn. The gate gets closed at night just in case. Corrals are pipe and have access to stalls in the barn. Water is next to the corrals and easy to get to. We parked right next to our pen and had electric to plug in to. Large area for the largest of rigs including semi's. Just off the highway, very easy access but not much noise and just on the edge of town. Great place to stay over a day or longer to check out the area! Thank you!". . . (7/13/21) - "We stayed here the last night of our month long trip with our horses. This was one of the best "horse motels" we stayed. It was a spacious, level, clean and safe environment for our horses and ourselves. The host was there from the beginning. We opted to keep our two horses in a large pen which they prefer to stalls. Very easy to get to, pretty, low key, great water pressure. They board about 15+ horses and have room for overnight boarders, too. I highly recommend.this stable.". . . (11/24/21) - "We used it for overnight. Would recommend for anyone looking for a clean, safe place for your horse to overnight, Just minutes from people, hotels. Stalls clean and large, owners super nice.". . . (10/29/23) - "This is a really nice place! Easy to find. All the folks here are very nice. Very comfortable for the horses.". . . (4/10/24) - "Very nice, clean place. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be staying here again. Stalls were ready for horses and located close to the highway. Electric is right next to the barn.". . . (9/13/24) - "Jaclyn and her husband were super easy to communicate with and were there when we arrived. Jaclyn helped get us situated. The area is close to the interstate which made for easy access; easy to get in and out of with the trailer, but still felt very secure and safe. Stalls were secure with nice big runs off of them. If you need a place to stay nearby, there is an Airbnb 5 minutes up the road on Cherokee Hill that was great. If I went through Raton again I would not hesitate to keep my horses here again. 10/10 recommend. Thank you!"

(7/14/19) - "Great place to layover! Bobby and Jesse are so nice and their facility is very horse friendly and safe. Highly recommend!". . . (7/16/19) - "Clean and safe set up for horses. Jesse and Bobby are some of the friendliest folks you will ever meet. We came through on our way from Texas to Arizona and on the way back home. We can absolutely recommend their facility.". . . (10/15/19) - "A Class act! Very accommodating, even cleaned out my trailer and had coffee and cinnamon rolls for me in the morning. Horse knowledgeable and clean and safe facility. Thank you!!". . . (11/17/19) - "This facility is the only one that correctly advertised and did not fantasize the amenities. Really great folks and a very friendly attitude. We would stay there again. Our thanks. D&D @ 3-3". . . (7/2/20) - "We unloaded our horses and Jesse started cleaning out our trailer while his wife got water for our horses. WOW! Then we had light issues with our trailer, needed fuses. Jesse had the fuses and helped us out. By that evening we were sitting and talking like we had been friends for years. I have never been to a facility and felt like this. I HIGHLY recommend J Bar C!!". . . (7/12/20) - "We had an amazing stop-over heading to Pagosa Springs from Houston. One of the cleanest places we have ever seen. The property is gated and very secure. All the pens were very clean and when we arrived, Jesse cleaned out our trailer and watered our horse. Bobby also cleaned our stalls!!! We stayed in the cute 3 bedroom farm house with AC. Comfortable furniture and beds. Highly recommend J Bar C!!!!". . . (9/29/20) - "J bar C in Roswell, NM offered us an exceptionally well-run facility to stay overnight with my horse and living quarters trailer. Easy to find, close to town and VERY welcoming hosts. Paddocks and turn-outs were extremely clean and safe. If you are looking for a good place to lay-over, I can highly recommend J bar C!". . . (1/12/21) - "Very nice. Accommodated us last minute with a stallion and gelding. So friendly and the place is immaculate. Highly recommend.". . . (11/3/21) - "Great people and lovely place! We have stayed here twice and will again!". . . (11/11/21) - "Jesse and Bobby are wonderful hosts. Nice place to stay overnight during your travels. Horse facilities are very nice, exceptionally clean and well maintained. The warm cinnamon rolls in the morning before our departure were such a treat. Would definitely stay again.". . . (6/11/22) - "Great people. They greet you apon arrival, help with horses and even muck the back of your trailer. We have a large rig with hay pod and can get into the facility just fine.". . . (1/10/23) - "This was an awesome place to stay! Owners were friendly and very helpful, place was immaculate. They went over and above to accommodate us. Highly recommend!". . . (1/4/24) - "Great place to stop overnight while we were in Roswell visiting friends. The hosts are wonderful and we really enjoyed talking to them. They are both passionate about horses and donkeys and keep a very tidy facility. I didn't worry the whole time they were there. They have a very large arena as well and had no restrictions on us using it. My only hesitation with riding in the arena is that it is rocky, but it is not unsafe. We will definitely be back if we have an overnight in the Roswell area."

Comments: (3/9/18) - "Beautiful facility. We stopped here on our way from PA to Arizona. Peaceful and quiet. Kind people. Thank you, Lonnie and Patty, for all you did for us when we broke down near you on our way home. It was nice to meet Good People. Our horses were grateful too! Our horses were very comfortable having to stay there unexpectedly for 5 days. Thanks again.". . . (6/19/19)- "Lovely place. Great stalls and arena! Perfect weather and scenery! Highly recommend!". . . (3/27/20) - "I have stayed here a few times. Stalls are nice and big. Easy access, RV hookups. Will stay there again!". . . (8/3/24) - "Nice clean stalls. Very helpful owner and easy to contact. Good price (They clean the stalls for you). The horse motel is about 15 minutes from human accomodations by motor vehicle. My one concern is the owner did not require us to show our coggins papers. That is a bit concerning."

(1/8/16) - "Wonderful hosts with a great facility. Would recommend to anyone who is passing through the area. Bunkhouse has everything you would need whether it is an unplanned stop or planned. Very clean for both you and your horse.". . . (10/9/16) - "Having stayed before I didn't hesitate to call and ask about last minute boarding. My progress had been delayed due to weather and I needed to revamp my itinerary. Hostess (Grace) was super. Was immediately available and friendly as before when I arrived at 0100.". . . (10/25/16) - "Grace is wonderful ! My horse ( whom does not like many strangers) walked right up to her and she helped me take him to the barn; it was awesome to see him just love her! Everything was ready for us and clean! Wonderful, quiet place to stay. We were there a 6 months ago. Would stay again!". . . (9/16//17) - "Very, very easy to find in the dark. Great communication with the host. Very clean facility. Not fancy, but very functional and well managed. No security, but it was not an issue since we camped on site (no rv hookups, but extension cord plug in available.". . . (3/21/18) - "Grace met us and showed us around. Had a place to clean out our trailer. Had stalls ready and water waiting in each stall. Gave us recommendations on where to eat in town. Had electric plug in for our trailer. We were quite satisfied with our stay and would definitely stay again.". . . (5/11/18) - "Easy to find, good directions, right off Hwy 54. Great facility for all weather conditions. Kind and considerate host.". . . (6/6/18) - "My horses had a big pasture with clean water! We stayed at the Roadrunner Motel, great place with easy trailer parking! The ranch has a big area to clean out your trailer and turnaround!". . . (6/9/18) - "Grace was amazing and far exceeded our expectations. We ended up showing up at her barn way later than we expected (past 11pm) and she was there to greet us with a big smile! Very welcoming and already had everything ready for us. She even stayed for a while to make sure we had everything we needed (it was our horse's first time on the road). I would 100% absolutely stay here again if we were passing through again. Probably the most important thing to us was that she stayed in contact with us through the entire travel time and wished us well long after we had left. Thanks Grace!!!". . . (6/8/19 - "Very nice host, clean! We would stay here again.". . . (5/7/21) - "Harry was easily available by phone, he was there to greet us and accommodate my horses needs.Easy on/off of I-40.This is my 3rd stay at Cassetta and would recommend.". . . (8/29/21) - "Easy to find. Large area for turn around. Stalls are large and safe. Had water buckets filled and provided shavings. Owner met us when we drove in. Very nice and very affordable. Would definitely recommend.". . . (9/7/22) - "We were greeted upon arrival, host made everything easy and was friendly. Not a fancy facility, but has everything you need. We would definitely stay again.". . . (2/22/23) - "We chose outdoor stalls and the fence/pens were not the best. No secure closure on the gates Everything was “pieced together”. I checked out the stalls and they were high in the middled by two feet so if a horse layed down it would get cast. . . . The owner is not on site.". . . (7/16/23) - "Great spot to stay for passing through with your horses! Mr. Harry (owner) was super friendly, wonderful and kind. My family and I just stayed at Mr. Harry’s Horse Hotel in New Mexico on our way through to Colorado. We have 2 horses who stayed in one of the horse corals. The coral they stayed in was secure, big and clean! We stayed on the property site in our camper with our dogs. Water and electricity were available as mentioned! Great spot with exactly what you need.". . . (7/26/24) - "{ . . . . } this place is {cobbled together . . . } with many of the fencing panels tied together with nylon banding wraps. The owners do not reside on the property and when they leave for the evening, the water well is put into lock down, so if your horses drink all their water or knock the bucket over you're not going to replace it. The owners are nice enough, but this place is absolutely shabby."
