(9/20/15) - "We were traveling thru the area and not arriving until really late. He met us at the gate at 3 a.m. and had water and hay ready for our horses in two large stalls. We passed out in the trailer and when we got up the horses had been fed and watered and we were on the road again. They had a shower available in the lounge area that we took advantage of.". . . I was running later than desired due to several issues but the barn manager, Terry, was very nice and waited for me. Once my horse was in a nicely sized stall, I was provided with the location and hours of the local Auto Zone to check on my truck problems and allowed to drop my trailer. The facility is well lit with great parking for our motor coach and large trailer. I would definitely stay there again when passing through Kansas.". . . They also made sure to check the horses' waters and provided hay as well. We had issues with finding trailer tires and they were willing to let us stay and also helped out as much as they could. We would definitely stay again!. . . (11/9/23) - "We enjoyed our overnight stay at Phalen Equestrian Center. Our mules stayed in outdoor turnouts which were safely pipe fenced. There was a gate to the facility which was closed overnight. The facility itself was spotless. Fresh water was available upon arrival and a small amount of brome hay was in the paddock for us when we arrived. Jim also made shavings available to us for an extra fee so that we could clean out and re-bed our trailer for the next leg of the journey. We stayed at the facility both to and from our UT destination and would gladly stay there again. The stay was a little pricier than others we have stayed at, but we were very comfortable with our mules' accommodations. Thank you, Jim."

(11/20/21) - "I agree with the previous reviews! Julie was friendly and met us upon arrival. Runs were perfect for RC and Peanut. We were shown to our comfy rooms and given fresh baked bread and options to eat. We will stop here again. Our Colorado to Florida trip's first night's stay was wonderful.". . . (3/12/22) - "LAYOVER FARM RECOMMENDATION IN KANSAS - 4HLAS recently completed a transport of one horse from Colorado to Pennsylvania for a client and we had the pleasure of laying-over at a fabulous farm in Chapman, Kansas for a night. This farm had lodging for horse and human... Horse accommodations included choice of a large stall inside a huge barn where they stored hay on one side and had three stalls on the other or several adequate sized dirt paddock spaces safely fenced with 6ft tall corral panels and a portion was under a three-sided overhang and the remainder was in the open. The overhang was well lit. There was electric wire along the top of the panels in case it was necessary to keep neighboring horses from making friends (or enemies) over the top of the panels. Human accommodations included a large living space in the basement of the property owner's house complete with a tv room / den with a pull-out couch and futon, full bath room, and bedroom with queen bed. The area was well decorated and very clean. There was a full size fridge, microwave, and coffee pot...coffee, drinks, and snacks were provided. The lodging was within a short walking distance of the barn area and if your horse was kept in the paddock, could be seen from the covered porch. The property owner, Julie, was super and very accommodating. Both layover and lodging were reasonably priced. Easily accessible with larger trailers with a circle drive in front of the barn area and easy turn into the driveway. Location is down a couple of rural gravel / dirt roads which could be difficult to traverse when extremely wet or ice/snow covered. The location was literally next to the interstate (I-70) once you were there (but you could not hear traffic from the house), however you had to drive about 5 miles from the exit to arrive at this great place to restboth feet and hooves. Only down-sides, if I had to be picky, were: 1) no wifi (unless you used the hotspot on your phone which really isnt a problem for most folks), 2) no food delivery (so make sure you get something on your way there or plan to unhook or drive your truck and trailer to town - less than 5-10 miles) 3) noise from upstairs (it was noticeable when I was awake but I was so tired I didn't hear anything once I went to sleep until I woke up the next morning). This was a 4* experience as far as a layover location! We will definitely recommend this to others (thus the FB post) and will definitely stay there again when travelling through Kansas on I-70.". . . (4/5/22) - "More than "Positive"! Comments: (11/11/15) - "I stabled my horse with them on Nov. 5, 2015. I was met by Rachel who checked that I had a current coggins and health papers before I was allowed to unload. I was able to turn my horse out into a round pen to walk around before putting her in a nice big box stall that was bedded well. Rachel lives on the property. The front gates are locked at night. Our horse enjoyed running around in the large. secure arena and we hooked up to electric and water right next to where our horse was. They offered a stall in the barn if I wanted one. Easy to find, pull in and park our horse trailer on a large clean gravel lane in a well lit barn yard. We definitely will stop here again next time we are traveling through.". . .
