| Comments: (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.) (7/12/09) - "We had a wonderful stay! Diane was wonderful and the facility was very nice. I would stay here again and recommend it as well.". . . (6/10/10) - "Glad to be able to camp out with my horses. Diane was very nice and helpful. Roads are pretty hard to navigate for an inexperienced driver.". . . (7/4/10) - "This was the most fabulous place for us and our horse to stay!! We intended to arrive around 6pm, but got a late start and arrived around 2 or 3 am. Diane was so wonderful, she called to check on us around 1 am to make sure we were still ok since we hadn't arrived yet (the last I had talked to her was around 11pm). Then she met us at the end of the driveway with a flashlight, so we had no trouble finding it. She insisted that we stay free of charge in her gooseneck trailer (we were going to set up a tent to save on costs for the trip). The pasture was wonderful for my mare and the trailer was perfect for us (complete with a comfortable warm bed, and snacks and water for breakfast). I would HIGHLY recommend that you stay here if you're passing that way. The roads were a little windy getting there, but the hospitality and accommodations were SO worth it! We were really praising the Lord that He led us to her place!". . . (11/17/10) - "Tom and Diane are some of the finest folks we have met in the equine world...couldn't say enough good about them....highly recommend their place to anyone and we will go there again if we are in that area......Great Place...Terry and Sandy Wagner.". . . (6/25/11) - "Truly first rate experience! Amazing property run by an amazing family. I actually felt bad making my horses leave the next morning.". . . (7/12/11) - "This was a fine layover on our way to an endurance ride, and I have since found out that other endurance riders have stayed here both before and after my stay. I liked the way they accommodated my late arrival, and that I could just pull into their field with my living quarters and let my horses out of the trailer to munch grass all night. VERY easy. I'll be back again!". . . (7/14/11) - "I stayed in my trailer and brought my own food, so I didn't need lodging. I didn't use the stalls but everything was very clean. The owners were on site. Very friendly owners who cared about my experience. Calm and peaceful atmosphere. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.". . . (8/1/11) - "We stayed on the way to and from USPC National Championships with my daughters horse, Diva. Diane and family were wonderful! I will recommend their place to anyone. On our trip back we left Kentucky late because my daughters horse had medical issues with the heat and colic. We also ended up giving a ride home to another competitor from our region who missed their ride the night before. I called Diane and she made sure there were accommodations for the other horse and let us arrive quite late. We also left very early the next morning. They are just wonderful people and I will use their farm again. Also the Comfort Inn at exit 47 (if I remember right) is a very nice motel. Nice swimming pools, great breakfast bar and the kids had a great time. Thanks again Diane! Lorie, Glenn, Brittany, Bradley and most of all Diva!". . . (10/24/11) - "This was my first time crossing over from one state to the other and this establishment was awesome. I got state of the art treatment and would definitely recommend. I wish my barn was this nice. I will return.". . . (10/26/11) - "I stayed at Double Trouble both going to and returning from Lexington KY for the National Drive. On both occasions they were there to warmly greet us and help back our trailers in for hook-up. Our horses had a wonderful field for turn-out that included immaculately clean stock tanks and our choice of stalls or a large loafing shed. Each morning our hosts left a morning goody bag of bottled juice and water, granola bars for us and an apple and carrots for our horses. I will always stop at Double Trouble Ranch in the future - it is a great stop for everyone; both two-legged and four-legged.". . . (11/2/11) - "Diane and Tom are wonderful hosts and the facilities are very nice. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Double Trouble Ranch and have already made reservations for next year. I can't say enough about our hosts. They did everything they could to make sure that we had a nice time at their farm including giving us a "care package" for the road which was very thoughtful and useful to travelers!". . . (12/17/11) - "I have traveled across the US and used other horse hotel facilities but nothing compares to the Double Trouble Ranch. Tom and Diane are the absolute best! We had a particular trying day, between difficult terrain and the weather. We were pretty "road weary" by the time we got to Double Trouble Ranch and I was especially concerned with one of our mares. The horses were settled in roomy, clean stalls overnight. Diane was gracious enough to message us later in the evening to reassure us the horses were doing well. I can not say enough about this facility. They took care of us and our horses, right down to the "care package" waiting on the stall doors, with all types of goodies for man and beast! Thank you Diane and Tom, you are so appreciated!" |

| Comments: (3/6/03) - "We arrived late due to weather and trouble with our UHAUL rental equipment used for moving our household items. The owner, Susan, and her employee were both there and were understanding with why we were late. The facility was very nice and horse and family friendly. Plenty of room for the horses in the stalls, and also a nice, safe, large indoor arena for them to exercise. Will definitely use again if in the area.". . . (4/16/04) - "As you all know you can encounter many problems hauling horses across country. I arrived about 8 hours past what I had planned. Susan Sunday was very understanding and kept in contact with me until I arrived. I want to thank every one at Sunday Stables. Noel". . .(10/6/06) - "We had a great stay at Sunday Stables. The apartment I stayed in was very nice and the stables were relatively close to plenty of food and gas places. I would not recommend for big rigs as the turn into the driveway and out of it is very tight and the turning radius in the driveway to turn around is rather small as well. The driveway was rather pot-hole-y and the railroad tracks that cross the driveway are quite rough to cross as well. We had an SUV and small 2 horse trailer and I would've had trouble with something bigger. My horse had a nice stay in the back part of the arena with plenty of room to move around! We'd definitely stay again." | |||||||

| Comments: (2/15/02) "Used this facility twice with horses brought up from KY to MD. Sweet people and wonderful horse facility. Always helpful and accommodating.". . .(9/7/02) - "Everyone went out of their way to take care of our needs and our horses. Truely an A1 facility. I would highly recommend.". . .(9/9/02) - "Friendly, comfortable and efficient- would visit again, if we are travelling in the area.". . . (8/19/08) - "Kathleen was an exceptional host! The horse accommodations/barn is not part of the B&B, it is a little ways off of the highway, the roads are narrow and twisty. We had a 40' rig - not a problem except that the steep drive off of the road to the barn created a low clearance issue for the bottom of the trailer. I recommend this facility to anyone.". . . (5/4/10) - "Great host! Lovely antique filled rooms. Excellent breakfast served as early as needed. Horse lodging is down the road and a bit quirky (camel, goats, pot bellied pigs on site) but stalls are adequate and hay is available. Roads in this area are narrow and twisty so take extra care in bad weather. Restaurants in town not great but Outback Steakhouse is about 15 minutes away.". . . (5/4/10) - "Stables associated with the Gillum House are about 2-3 miles from the Bed and Breakfast. The stable is clean and secure, stalls are built with feed/water doors, so the stall doors don't need to be opened. There is plenty of room to park and turn around large trailers. Bed and Breakfast is AMAZING! Having a home made breakfast on the road is a treat! The staff is very freindly, I feel like part of the family everytime I go back! I stay there at least twice a year while traveling with horses.". . . (8/24/11) - "This was my second stay at the Gillam house. I plan to make it my regular stop on my trips up north. The horse facilities are first rate. The B&B is the best, excellent food, fruit basket, chocolates, bubble bath, lots of nice touches. The host and hostess are so helpful, and nice. Barn is safe, clean, and quiet, parking, and turning around is a breeze. | |||||||
