Comments: (1/14/05) - "We were met at the gate by Dwayne and he was full of helpfulness. He took in all the information about our horses and what they had been through in the days trip and what we expected would happen with them for the night. Dwayne checked in on them and we felt very comfortable with leaving our horses in his care. We knew upon our arrival that there was no motels in the same town but there were plenty in the neighboring town only a few miles up the road. The stalls were fit for a king's horse so the drive wasn't a bother at all cuz our horses were in wonderful care and it was a restful night for all. We would love to thank you, Dwayne, and will let anyone we know traveling through your area that you are available. If you're looking for a great place to keep your horse for a night and in the area of Joseph, UT we recommend J Diamond Ranch to you. Thanks Again Dwayne.". . .(6/11/06) - "Very lovely facility and very easy access from I-70. Off and on again in no time at all. The barn and all facilities were clean and well cared for. The guest room is great. We could look out our door into the barn to check on our horse. Food is a bit of a drive but there is a nice restaurant up on the "Big Rock Candy Mountain" which is worth the drive, about ten miles away, up a pretty canyon. We stayed in their guest room and were very happy. Dwayne and Angie were very cordial and helpful. A very nice, peaceful place to stay.". . .(7/14/06) - "Really nice stalls. Loved the cute foals wandering around the barn.". . .(7/20/06) - "Dwayne was a great help. The horses really enjoyed the stay. As well as us. The Army horses were taken care of at all times. Thanks again Dwayne.". . . (4/26/11) - "Love this place. I'd recommend it to anyone. These people are well above what they represent. I'm very happy with my stay there.". . . (4/30/11) - "Angie greeted us upon arrival. The stalls were large and clean. The provided room was spacious and close to the horses."

Comments: (5/23/03) - "Highly recommend this stable for boarding your horses. I was passing through and only needed a night there. It was very reasonably priced and well maintained. Susan went out of her way to make sure the horses were taken care of.". . .(11/10/03) - "I stayed there three nights with a gooseneck, living quarter trailer. I put three horses in her stables. Susan went way beyond what I expected and was a very gracious host. To this end I am mentioning her stable in a feature article which will be printed in the January, 2004 Issue of Natural Horse Magazine.". . .(7/28/04) - "A great family set up, it was nice to meet a local family and see their horse scene. My horse enjoyed the small paddock attached to his stall so he could walk around after a long haul in a trailer stall. We really appreciated being able to camp out in our trailer on the property as well.". . .(7/31/05) - "Functional clean secure facility. Close accommodations for people. Had parking to leave trailer which was nice.". . .(9/6/05) - "Thanks to Sue Shaw and her family for a care free stay and for their honesty and trust. The Lewis's". . . (9/24/05) - "We could not have been more delighted or satisfied with the facility, care or Susan's gracious attiude. It is obvious that her stable is not just a business but, a reflection of her love for horses. We are a retired law enforcement family, somewhat skeptical of unknowns, however, we give Shaw Stables our unqualified recommendation.". . .(10/1/06) - "An oasis after a long trip with a young filly. This facility was friendly, immaculate and the "human" food and lodging in close proximity with a special rate made the trip extremely easy. Thank you Susan and family!!!!". . . (12/21/06) - "Had to perform maintenance on my truck before I could leave, and this wasn't a problem with them. Had a great stay, would definitely do it again.". . .(7/12/07) - "A great experience-friendly, professional, went beyond expectations to help us with horses and motel-highly recommend.". . . (1/27/09) - "She was very helpful in making sure our horses were safe, plenty of clean water. Even though we got in very late at night, she was wonderful. Great directions from her to get on the road easier. AAA+++". . . (6/22/09) - "Had 2 horses stay here in Oct of 2008. Hostes was very helpful, and the stalls were clean. They live on the property so some one was there all the time. Would recomend and would stay there again.". . . (7/24/09) - "Thank you for an easy, safe, and comfortable overnight break for our horses. We had a long day traveling, and Susan had a great place for our horses to stretch their legs, and settle down for a quiet night. We were able to get our trailer tire fixed the next morning (5 minutes away from the barn), go back to pick up horses, and we were on the road by 8:00 am!". . . (8/22/09) - "What a great place and wonderful hosts! Thanks to Susan for making us feel so welcome.". . . (9/21/09) - "Facilites are good but not showy. We arrived fairly early in the afternoon before Sue got home from work, but were able to converse by cell phone so it did not represent a problem.". . . (7/29/10) - "Sue was very friendly, facility was adequate for an overnight stay. I did not find the location of the barn or recommended hotel to be convienient after a long day of driving."

Comments: (10/20/03) - "Very easy access off the freeway. Super clean paddocks, horses were able to rest well. Thank you!". . .(10/22/03) - "Very hospitable and informative for our personal convenience. We were very satisfied with the security, safety and overall well being of our horses. We would return.". . .(3/23/05) - "Very convenient off the interstate. Nothing Fancy, but the pens were large and safe, and the owner lives on the premisis. It's a bit inconvenient to drive 5 miles for a motel, and restaurant. On our second trip we stayed in our camper, and that worked out well.". . .(6/3/05) - "A wonderful lady waited up for us. I will stay here anytime I am in the area!!!". . .(10/5/05) - "John and Sharon are as friendly and knowledgeable as you could ask for. The facility is spotless, and they check the horses several times. They know the lodging and food options, even the hours they're open! I heard that alot of people use the local racetrack for overnights. That might work for people who have sleeping quarters in their trailers/want to stay with their horses and be closer to town (I think Parowan is about 7 miles from the Fords' place). If I were doing this again with MY horse, however, I'd definitely use the Fords. Instead of the typical motel, we stayed in the charming Victorian Rose in downtown Parowan. It is an early 1900s home that was at one time renovated into apartments. For $80 we had a large 1-bedroom apartment with a queen bed and a queen sleeper with a large bathroom and fully-equipped kitchen. There are about 100 rose bushes around the property, it is across the street from the town park and next to the town's restaurants. If you want to splurge a little, it's more than worth it (and probably not much more expensive than the Days Inn.". . .(10/18/05) - "What a great setup & we felt safe & secure. John is a fabulous host & they're not far from the exit. They are close to town for eating & the pizza shop in town was great. Their place is very clean & plenty of room to park; we should know we had a trailer with living quarters plus a huge U-Haul & trailer. We will definitely stay again if we pass back that way again & highly recommend them. Thanks John & Sharon!". . .(5/7/07) - "John was extremely friendly and helpful. He checked the horse vet record and verified info on the horse and our vehicle. I felt very secure in leaving my horse overnight at his facility.". . . (9/3/07) - "This was a nice place. The corrals are Ok. The host was very helpful. I felt comfortable with my horses there.". . .(4/6/08) - "John and Sharon were very hospitable. I arrived late on a rainy night and both were there to help unload and get my horses settled. Because of the weather I was running late and they called to make sure everything was ok. Rates were reasonable and if I am driving through again I will definitely board my horses there again. Food, lodging, gas and freeway access were easily accessible.". . .(7/29/08) - "Absolutely fantastic place to overnight and rest the horse. Safe and clean facility, and plenty of amenities within a short drive for us as well. We found not only a great place to overnight our horses, but have found new good friends as well.". . . (6/16/10) - "Wonderful and very helpful hosts! I would recomend Hoof Rest to anyone traveling that direction!"

Comments: (9/12/07) - "Although the host was out of town, he was extremely helpful in giving directions so that we were able to find the facilities with no problem. Very nice 36' x 48' paddock with shelter and automatic waterer. About 4 miles off Hwy 15, all paved roads and very easy to find. Definitely recommend this ranch.". . .(6/9/08) - "Byron and his facility EXCEEDED my expectations!!! Byron met us at his turn off and helped settle my mare. Her oversized stall was clean and neat. Fresh water and quality alfalfa was placed in her pen shortly before our arrival. We arrived late (Sunday,10:45 pm local), it was very dark. Byron had a light on near the corrals (which he left on all night for his new guest). Byron was very friendly and did not rush us as we wanted to ensure her comfort before we left to check into our hotel. We were very impressed with his knowledge and passion to ensure the best experience to his new customer. Additionally, we had been traveling all day and were not able to find an open tack store. Byron gave more than a fair deal on a lead rope I much needed. Thanks Byron! Should I travel your way again....keep the light on for me!!". . .(10/11/08) - "Due to my husband's illness, we arrived later than we wanted. Byron was very understanding. He even met us on the road about 1 mile away since I made the wrong turn... He walked me & my mare to the round pen with his guiding flashlight. I felt very comfortable leaving my mare at his place, in fact, I highly recommend it to everyone. The next time I drive through I'll definitely put my mare at his place overnight.". . . (9/29/10) - "Overall a good place to keep your horse. Feed was very good and horses seemed comfortable there.". . . (6/17/11) - "Bryon was great. I was hauling some cattle to our ranch in Wyoming and I got there late. He was out to help me unload. Had a nice place to rest the cattle and water them. Plenty of room to feed them. They helped me load the cattle in the morning. I know its supposed to be a horse motel but it worked good for the cattle. It was nice of Byron to do that. I was real happy with everthing; I will do it again. Byron told me about a nice motel close by that I could syay in. Just a nice place - thanks."

Comments: (9/14/09) - "This is the BEST place you can leave your horse - nicest people, cleanest and safest barn, enormous stalls - huge peace of mind when you leave your horse there over night. I arrived with a really tired horse and they were wonderful - attentive, knowledgeable - the best.". . . (5/17/10) - "Travelling from Arizona to northeastern Washington, this was a welcome stopover on my first night. Bonnie was there to greet us and my horses loved the big, comfy, secure stalls. Easy to get in and out and I had the peace of mind of knowing my horses were getting the best of care! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!". . . (7/13/10) - "The owner was so understanding when we didn't get in to the barn until 11pm. She was polite when I called her multiple times to check directions. The facilities were as advertised and our horses seemed comfortable and safe. I would highly reccomend the place and keep horses there again.". . . (8/3/10) - "Don't miss the chance to stable your horse here overnight if you are in the Salt Lake area and need to spend the night. We found the facility to be very clean and the stalls to be outstanding. The owner is very friendly and truly cares about the horses in her care. I give it a 5 star rating.". . . (3/24/11) - "We can’t say enough to thank Bonnie and her son for their kindness and willingness to make us feel welcome when we arrived for an overnight layover. The weather was bad and because of the weather we were late arriving and Bonnie was there to greet us and did everything she could to make us welcome. Thanks, Bonnie.". . . (9/1/11) - "Very kind hosts! Excellent care and facilities. Thank you tons, Bonnie, as it is so important to us weary travelers. Many Blessings! Nancy.". . . (10/16/11) - "Bonnie was great about our late arrival and giving us great directions to her place. Nice large and safe stalls and her boarders were very accommodating for a large turn out which I appreciated since I'm travleing the country with my two horses. They needed the walk around time after spending a long days ride in the trailer. I recommend your staying here, it's easy to get to, quiet, and safe. Hook ups were not so easy, but if one had long enough hoses and cords it's possible. Nice lady and very competent horsewoman.". . . (4/20/12) - "We arrived late (as in 11pm) and were welcomed with kindness and respect. My horse had the kind of evening he deserved after spending hours on the thankless road. I REALLY appreciated the service provided by this horse motel. In addition, the near-by Holiday Inn Express gives a HUGE discount to clients of this stable, and the good night's sleep/cleanliness and free breakfast were powerful tools in the restoration of my road weary soul!"
