Comments: (1/27/09) - "Maria waited up for us and had everything ready. Setting was beautiful and very horse friendly. We were up and out conveniently the next morning with no hassles. Great Place and nice people!". . . (8/4/09) - "We had the most wonderful stay at Maria’s Renaissance Farm. Maria is a gracious host, a bright spot in our long journey! The barn was very clean and nice and the farm is so pretty. The stalls were plenty roomy for our two draft crosses who are 16.2. There is easy truck and trailer access. Our favorite part was being able to put our horses in their stalls, then walk across the lawn to the room that Maria has available for guests. Since we don’t have an RV or living quarters, we loved this! We were only three, but we could have had three more people in the room, there are plenty of beds. There is a full bath and the kitchen is really nice with more amenities than you’d find at a hotel, like a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, sink, and a small table with chairs. Plan your route around this farm, you will be very grateful that this was one of your stops!"

Comments: (3/8/07) - "Sharon Lesner was an exellent host (Mike was out of town). They breed and raise Missouri Fox Trotters and she is very knowledgeable about them. Since we have an interest in the breed, she took a lot of time to educate us on Missouri Fox Trotters at our request. The barn has a room with a bathroom (including a shower) for guests and it is very nicely done and well supplied. Very clean. They have a beautiful place and I would recommend staying there. We intend to stay again if ever in the area."

Comments: (3/18/08) - "Fabulous place to stay! Clean stalls in barn with small paddock area for the horses. Beautiful room, great breakfast for owners! They helped us unload a difficult horse in the dark with pouring rain! Good proximity for riding in the Great Smokey Mts. Would highly recommend!". . . (7/18/09) - "This facility was superb - stalls were in an old dairy barn and very secure for even the fussiest of horses. Bed and breakfast is absolutely charming and Karen was wonderful and the breakfast was superb! Very large horse trailers would need to either back in or park about 75 yards from the barn, our smaller 4 horse gooseneck was no problem - entrance road is paved."

Comments: (8/26/07) - "Beautiful facility with most amenities. Norford is a friendly, helpful and knowlegeable host. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely plan to stop again.". . .(4/4/08) - "The Bierly's were so nice and helpful and offered so many choices for our horses; stalls, turnout and pasture to stretch. The stalls were huge and immaculate. After driving in intense pouring rain, it was a great retreat for us as well as the horses. Had supper at a cute cafe in between Fairview and Nashville, famous for fried chicken and biscuits. Not far from everything we needed. Being from the flatlands, the short 200 yard road up to their property was steep for us, but worth it. Our 40ft rig made it easily. Ed offered his services to help us load in the rain if needed. They were awesome and we will definitely stay there again.". . .(7/16/08) - "A very well-run and friendly place to keep youre horse after a long day on the road! The place was serene and beautiful and Norford was a pleasure and made sure our horses were very comfortable. Hooligan and Memphis would like to pass on their gratitude!". . .(10/18/08) - "Good place to overnight.". . .(11'17'08) - "Norford was one of the nicest people we have met in our travels...such a cute sweet dog too...would recomend his stable to anyone needing a place to stay.". . . (5/7/09) - "Loved his barn!! Beautiful farm. Was referred to his farm from one of the other farms that didn't have room, a nice thing to do. But that IS the horse community! When arrived his sweet dog greeted us (he was still at work), weput the horse in a very clean stall and went to the hotel right down the street. I wish we had time to enjoy his farm. Thanks!"

Comments: "Was a very nice experience and place is great and comfortable for horse. Nice person to deal with.". . .(7/26/02) - "This place was wonderful. The setting was beautiful, flowers, ducks waddling across yard in the morning and a lighted round pen where our horse could be longed even though we arrived about 10:30PM. The hosts could not have been more helpful. They even have hot water in the barn! I would give this place my highest recommendation. If you have a big rig it might be best to leave out front since there are many trees in the barn area. When we travel in this area again we would most likely try to stay there again.". . .(11/18/02) - "This facility is in a beautiful setting and was very well kept. We were very pleased overall.". . . (3/3/03) - "We were lost and in constant contact with . . .(the owners). . .while driving to board our Arabian. The stall was large, exceptionally clean and enclosed. They were wonderful people and not bothered at our late arrival, even with us and our horse exhausted. Great place to keep your horse.". . .(9/6/03) - "(The owner) . . was extremely nice and friendly. Her barn was so very clean, and the property was first-class. We had just picked up an unfamiliar horse that morning, but he settled right in for the night. The next morning I could tell that he had laid down in the huge stall, so I know he felt relaxed. It made our 2 day journey much better. The Deerfield Inn is close and clean, and there is a wonderful restaurant across the street. I highly recommend Susan's place! Thanks again.". . .(3/29/04) - "Just needed to stop in for half an hour of so to let my appaloosa gelding take a break before pushing onto our night destination. Host was very helpful, and made the trip, the likes of which my horse is not used to, much easier for him than it might have been. Thank you so much.". . .(3/23/05) - "A totally wonderful place for both people and our horses. Felt like home when we pulled in and had no worries about leaving our horses with [them].". . . (5/1/09) - "We travel between Delaware and Texas. The Lazy Susan is a welcome oasis in the middle. The horses get to get out and stretch their legs in a very nice paddock. Susan is always friendly and welcoming. We spend the night in a nice motel just several miles down the road, knowing that the horses are safe and secure.". . . (7/29/09) - "This is a very clean, nice barn with plenty of turnout space. We stayed there both ways going to and from Virginia. The Deerfield Inn nearby is also a very inexpensive but clean and pleasant place for the human boarders to stay.". . . (8/4/09) - "We had a really nice stay at Susan’s stable. Susan was very nice and accommodating and I felt assured when she immediately returned our emails and phone calls. The barn was nice and clean, stalls clean and room enough for our 16.2 draft crosses. The neighborhood where this stable is located is beautiful, we felt very safe leaving our horses in the barn. Susan and Rick’s horses are also there, and the barn closes up, so don’t worry about driving down the road to stay at the Deerfield Inn. The Deerfield Inn was very cheap, but also very clean with a small frig, microwave and we were excited to access free wi-fi! It was easy in the morning to head back down the road, let our horses run around a bit, then load and be on our way. We were glad to have had this as one of our stops, out of many stops across the country!". . . (1/2/11) - "This was a true "horse person". Called to ask for availability she said yes, but I'm not there - make yourself at home. Found a clean barn with hook-up and two welcoming dogs. Very close to I-40. Wish I could've met Susan, but will stop again if ever in TN.". . . (2/19/11) - "Great place to relax after getting off I 40.. Very nice folks to deal with!"

Comments: (6/21/03) - "Bud and Lelia Sikes provided the upmost in southern hospitality. The facilities and overall conditions were excellent. I felt as if my horses were a top priority. The property is VERY secure and well maintained. The Sikes provide extensive knowledge of the area as well. This will be a regular stop on our route to endurance rides in the future. Thank you Lelia and Bud!". . .(10/19/03) - "Very convenient to highway, large/clean stalls, very friendly hosts, good spring water for the horses.". . .(12/5/03) - "The Sikes are wonderful people and took the time to talk to us and help us with our horse. They knew we were traveling a long way and and let us use their round pen to give our horse time to stretch and relax. Very nice neat quiet clean place.". . . (6/27/04) - ". . . they were wonderful, kind people with a very nice farm. A little tight for a big trailer, but we made it work! I wanted to kidnap that adorable puppy! Would definitely stay again.". . .(10/15/04) - "Everything was wonderful! Nice clean comfortable facilities for our ponies. We enjoyed our stay very much and will certainly return when we go that way again.". . .(4/25/05) - "The Sikes were so nice! It was a very clean place. We would go back again.". . .(5/18/05) - "Above and beyond the call of duty. Got me hooked up with a garage when my truck broke down and kept me on schedule. Would stay again anytime.". . .(9/26/05) - "Bud was great to us when we called at the last minute to see if he could take 2 horses. The stalls were well built with fresh clean shavings. He even checked on our horses and filled their water buckets. I felt very comfortable leaving the horses there. The property was very well maintained with easy turnaround for the trailer. He was very helpful in telling us where the motel and food was. I will definitely recommend him to other people. If I go back that direction and need to stop I will check with him. Thanks Bud!". . .(11/14/05) - "Bud and Lelia are very gracious hosts. Greeted me upon arrival and allowed me to use their facility as if it were my own. Stalls were safe and big and great coffee in the morning!!". . .(4/3/06) - "Lelia was terrific, if she didn't have it, she sure knew where to get it. Both Lelia and Bud made Walt's stay easy and comfortable. Thanks for the stallion stall! They weren't the first place I called, just the first I reached and I'm glad; we will be back.". . .(6/25/06) - "This is far better than the write up. Host was great and rooms were very homie. My horses loved it there also . I had 3 horses and a 4 horse 20ft slant trailer and had room to park and turn around in .....Thanks for all your help (the wrecker ). We made it safely to PA.". . .(8/6/06) - "Bud made our last minute stay wonderful. Made room for our 3 horses and trailer. It was a great place for a horse break after our long trip from TX. Definitely would use again!". . . 8/26/06) - "Wonderful hosts, easy access to motels and restaurants and interstate. THE PLACE TO STAY IN JACKSON. Highly recommended!!". . . (10/16/09) - "Would stay again.". . . (4/5/10) - "Bud was waiting in the driveway when we drove in. Helped us get horses settled in. Couldn't have been better. Highly recommend.". . . (11/13/11) - "Great place to stay and we will definitely make this a routine stop whenever we travel that direction. Bud was a great wealth of information in directing us to places we needed in Jackson to pick up some needed items - like tires! Everything was clean and secure and we couldn't ask for more.". . . (4/3/12) - "We have stayed at many layover locations in the past few years while traveling cross country with our horses & the Southern Star Farm is one of our favorites so far! The Sikes were very hospitable & as friendly as could be. Our horses rested comfortably in the stalls & we will definitely be staying at the Southern Star Farm again when we are in their area.". . . (9/28/12) - "Bud Sikes was a wonderful host and very safety oriented. He offered us first-rate, safe pasture turn out for our horses and a perfect spot for our rig to hook-up. The location is ideal off from I-40. Highly recommend.". . . (2/13/13) - "I look forward to being able to stay there again for sure. Wonderful experience! Caring and warm people!"

Comments: (1/23/09) - "Without knowing anything about who we were and with little notice, the farm was very welcoming. Chris was very friendly on the phone. He gave us great advice about where food was available and was there to welcome us when we arrived at the driveway. The stalls were clean and bedded and we had no trouble even hauling a stallion. The apartment was clean and comfortable and even had satellite TV. Trailer parking was easy and staying on location made it easy in the morning. I would highly recommend staying and I will be back the next time I travel that direction.". . . (4/6/09) - "This is a great place to overnight. There is a very comfortable apartment to stay in. The host met us with a flashlight at the entrance to the farm. He kept filling the water buckets for us. We had coffee and cereal in the apartment in the morning, went downstairs, loaded the horses and were on our way. Super host!"

Comments: (8/18/07) - "I am a professional horse hauler and have stayed at stables nationwide and Canada. This farm is clean, well run and a real pleasure to stay at. It is a real treat to see the quality Mountain horses this farm breeds. The owner, Patty, is a real quality lady that takes care of all the little "details" that makes for a successful farm. I highly recommend this farm for your overnight stabling needs.". . .(11/7/07) - "I really had a great experience stabling with the Beaty's - I wanted to be able to turn my horses out and the pasture they provided gave the horses plenty of room to relax before going back in the trailer the next morning. Four Beat Farms is a beautiful facility, and Patty was great helping us get the horses settled in. I highly recommend it - easy access to the interstate and food and lodging. It's everything they advertise it to be. Thanks! Elaine.". . .(10/8/08) - "Patty was right there to see that my horses (and I) were settled in for the night. I was pleased to have a safe, large paddock for them to relax in after a long day on the road. This is a clean, neat, safe place in a convenient location, and I will definitely stay again if I am traveling in that area.". . . (4/28/09) - "After an eleven hour driving day on I-75, the Four Beat Farms was a wonderful sight! It is very accessible from the interstate. Patty Beaty, the farm owner, was most helpful, allowing me to hose down the legs of our two, tired Morgans, who are now "seniors." We had the choice of either two safe, clean stalls or a very large pasture with an automatic water tank. Since it was good weather the horses spent a relaxing night in the pasture/paddock and were well hydrated and ready to go at 4:30 a.m. when we started our next day's drive. Electricity and water was easily available for our camper. Both Patty and her husband, Bobby, graciously endured our many questions about their beautiful horses and farm. Our overnight stop there was very "restoring" for Pride and Regal as well as us and our Corgi, Pooh Bear. I would highly recommend the Four Beat Farms to anyone. Judy Allswede.". . . (5/2/10) - "Highly recommend this place! People and facility are both VERY good. We stopped over with 3 horses moving permanently from Michigan to Florida. Had BIG stalls, open to the outdoors. Horses felt safe and very comfortable. The perfect low/no stress stop over.". . . (5/6/10) - "AWESOME! Place is nice and the people obviously know horses. Stalls we got were HUGE, and airy. Our horses were very content right away. We were traveling from Michigan to Florida and needed a place for 3 horses (1 Arabian, and 1 Arab/Saddlebred cross)."

Comments: (4/22/08) - "We are a touring group that travels 11 months out of the year with 10 to 14 stallions. The place was great, clean, and secure; a great place to bring your horses. We will be calling them the next time we are in town. If you're coming by this way, call and talk with them; you'll be staying after you do. Thank you, we'll be back.". . .(8/12/08)- "The host was very helpful and friendly. There was no washrack and barn was in disarray. The area we were asked to park was in dire need of mowing; turnout pasture was large with good browsing enclosed with electric fence.". . .(10/21/08) - "My partner and I were moving from Illinois to Florida. We were transporting 5 horses in 2 trailers and were delayed leaving. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. We kept in contact while on the way. Even though we were arriving very late in the evening, he came to the interstate to meet us and lead us to the farm. The barn and stalls were very clean and organized and ready for our arrival. We left early the next morning and he was there to make sure we had everything we needed and to lend a hand if needed. Do yourself and your horses a favor and give them a call if you are traveling through this area and need a place to stop.". . . (5/16/10) - "I'm so thankful for Duane's generous heart. He didn't hesitate when he discovered he would be taking care of us after midnight. Just like a lighthouse in the dark he led me to his facility and helped us settle in. What a great ending to a long day on the road. THANKS AGAIN!". . . (1/27/13) - "Wonderfully accommodating on short notice! Very friendly host. Stalls clean. Met us off the interstate and led us to his place. Extremely convenient location. I believe he even checked on our horse in the middle of the night! Would stay there again if we have the opportunity."

Comments: (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(6/18/07) - "I cannot say enough good things about Mike and Madge. We have stayed with them on 4 occasions. Each time they have went out of their way to help us. We stayed with them last year while showing in Shelbyville. I had a broken leg and Mike helped us get our horses ready for the show. He didn't have to, but he helped bathe, clip, and dress them up. He even went to the show with us. It is so comforting knowing our horses have a safe place to stay. I am glad to have Mike and Madge available, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. You can tell they truly love horses and treated our horses as if they were part of the family. Mike and Madge get a resounding A+++ from us. We look forward to staying with them again in the near future. Thanks a bunch guys. Katrina Bone". . .(7/4/07) - "Great location, great people, quiet setting. Stalls are huge, which is a nice bonus when traveling long distances with horses. I stayed for two days and left two horses behind while I took the third to a show--never once worried about the safety of the two I left--they were in very good hands.". . .(9/9/07) - "This was mine and my husband's first time needing a facility to camp overnight with our horses. I must say that Michael Sliger made it a most pleasant adventure. He did far more for us than I would ever expect anyone to do. THANKS!! We will never forget it!!". . . (9/20/07) - "Michael and Madge went above and beyond their duties as hosts! We very much appreciate their willingness to help in all aspects of our horses' care. Next time we pass through Murfreesboro, we will BEG to stay at their facility!!". . .(3/18/08) - "Because of weather we had to change our original plans so we were enroute and called for a place to stay. When we told him our plans he indicated that he was quite a ways off our path and recommended we look at some other places. Because we were driving, he got on his computer and found some options for us. He even called back a little while later to make sure we found some place for our horses along the way! Soooo helpful! I know if we ever do travel his route, we will definitely stay there!! Thanks so much for all your help!". . .(4/23/08) - "I just picked up a young horse and wanted to make sure there was someone there 24 hours. Michael was there when I pulled in and accessible by phone the 2 times I called from the road. He had a nice sized round pen and HUGE stalls. My horse settled in right away. He fed large quantities of hay and made sure there was plenty of water. The distance from I-24 was a bit long but his nice facilities gave me peace of mind for a good night sleep.". . .(8/19/08) - "Michael was extremely helpful , the farm was clean and he took very good care of our horses for the night.". . .(12/9/08) - "Mike was friendly and helpful, and Madge called as soon as I missed the farm driveway to direct me to a nearby turnaround. Directions were almost perfect, just was tough to see drive/house number on mailbox at night. Stalls were huge & clean and horses seemed to like them very much. Be sure to get their cell # if you will be arriving before dark and want help to get around Nashville, as busy traffic can make navigating tough until off the highway. Thanks guys! Kathryn.". . . (2/28/09) - "If you need to stop off somewhere-STAY HERE! The stalls are HUGE which was nice to leave my horse in after 12 hours of trailering! The owner, Michael, was more than accommodating to any of our requests! Our horses were relaxed and very well cared for.". . . (3/1/09) - "These people are great! They were very hospitable and we enjoyed everything about our stay. Our trip was delayed several hours and so we did not arrive until 11 p.m. Michael drove out to meet us at the main road and guide us to the farm in the dark. He also unloaded the horse for me (it had taken nearly 3 hours to load him at the farm I bought him from). The stall was large and comfy, with fresh hay and water. Michael showed us his horses and got us a hook-up for our camping. The next day he worked with my young horse and practiced loading and unloading him in my trailer. It was a much quicker and kinder loading experience for him than the previous afternoon. Michael has a way with horses and is kind and calm with them. We enjoyed chatting with Michael and Madge so much that we didn't leave until afternoon the next day! I'll be back!". . . (3/4/09) - "The hospitality at Lotsa Spots Farm for us as well as our horses was outstanding. The stalls are spacious and safe; this is great for your horse when traveling long distances. It was a relief to go stay at a nearby hotel knowing our horses were in good hands.". . . (10/14/09) - "Being a professional Horse Trainer I have often been on the road and in need of a first class boarding facility with a reasonable rate. Michael & Madge have both. My experience at Lotsa Spots Farm was excellent. I will be back and would recommend them to anyone.". . . <4/17/10) - "What a great layover. Very quiet, spacious stalls ready for our arrival, with plenty of bedding and hay. Will certainly use this facility again.". . . (6/9/11) - "Michael and Madge were more than accommodating and very friendly. They took excellent care of my horse. The Blue Porch B&B, just down the road, was a treat after long hours of driving. I strongly recommend to all those travelling with horses through central Tennessee. Very easy to get to off of I-24.". . . (1/9/12) - "Highly recommend. Nice large stalls. Great hosts. Beautiful setting. Very convenient and beautiful bed and breakfast up the road with exceptional food.". . . (4/1/12) - "They were very {accommodating}. The stalls were large and clean, which was very nice after a long drive, the horses were able to walk and stretch. GREAT southern hospitality by owners! We would definitely go back to the Sliger's!"

I would highly recommend and will definitely stop in the next time I am stopping in TN!". . . (1/27/12) - "Lena Beth and Tom are great hostess/host. Made us feel right at home. Horses were comfortable there. Excellent place to stay, highly recommend it. Easy to get into with a big rig (4 horse/10' LQ), manuver around. Will be going back - for sure.". . . (11/16/12) - "Awesome place to layover. Really safe stalls and right off I-75! I will come back in a heartbeat! I am very particular where I unload my client's horses and this is on of the best. Thanks for your hospitality. Annick."

Comments: (1/5/07) - "This facility is the most beautiful I have ever seen. If I come back on earth as a horse, I would love to leave there....The owner, Marie, is the best host and she will make you feel at home in her Bed and Breakfast. I try to stay there as much as possible during my traveling.". . .(4/12/07) - "We LOVE Clearview!! My daughter and I spent 3 nights enroute to Wellington and 2 nights on the way home. The barn/stalls/turnout/arena are all new, well maintained, and safe. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The bed and breakfast is lovely, all rooms tastefully decorated and had all needed amenities. Marie is a delightful and accommodating host, makes you feel right at home.". . . (8/26/07) - "Great place to stay for people and horses!". . .(12/13/07) - "Probably one of the most beautiful facilitys that I stayed at with my client's horse(s). Everything is first class including the stalls (the Queen of England would love them!) Can't wait to visit Marie again. Really Outstanding!". . .(4/21/08) - "Beautiful farm & B&B. Room for people was as reasonable and nice as they come. Everybody was nice & friendly. The 'boys' enjoyed the pasture but the stalls were superior."
