Comments:(9/12/05) - "Nice stable, indoor riding heated, large outdoor riding arena with bleachers, lots of pasture space and many friendly boarders.". . .(8/3/06) - "Mr. Halstead went above expectations when he sensed our uneasy feeling about there not being someone on the premises at night (he lives nearby.) We were traveling with a newly acquired colt and 2 yr old. He offered to let us "camp out" in the barn office to ease our anxiety. (Very thoughtful). He even came over early the next morning to help us retrailer our boys. Mr. Halstead will soon have a great old home refinished next to the stables for overnight guests."

Comments: (7/16/07) - "Larry and Geri are wonderful hosts! We were able to leave our horses at camp with no worries while we played tourist. They even joined us for a ride one morning, showing us their favorite trails.(Lucky for us we took our vacation early) Definitely will be visiting them again!". . .(7/22/07) - "Larry & Geri were very accommodating. Large covered stalls for 1-2 animals/stall. 2 "dirt" pens for animals to "roll in". Manure is well-contained and hauled regularly. Washer/Dryer for laundry. Trails access from camp into Custer State Park or rent their stock trailer to go to other trailheads for Mt. Rushmore and Harney Peak. Elect/water at sites. Septic hookups are planned. Bunkhouse for those without LQ trailers.". . .(8/1/07) - "We were at Broken Arrow for 6 days. Beautiful camp sites. Over half the horse stalls are covered. They have a "turn out" corral so your horse can roll when you return to camp. Hosts are very accommodating. Facilities are clean and quiet. Easy access to the park system. Comments: "Myself and my family had such a wonderful time at the Horseman's Outfit, owned by Alfred and Serena Rice that we are returning again this fall. The bunkhouse is first rate, nicely put together and very clean. All the meals were home cooked and excellent. This is a real working ranch with hard working people who know the area for riding with your horses or just touring." . . .(10/30/01) - "We stopped for one night at the The Horsemen's Outfit while traveling across South Dakota to Minnesota. The facilities were excellent! The bunkhouse was new and clean, warmly decorated, and the sleeping accommodations were extremely comfortable. The breakfast food was exactly what we had requested -- and then some. The horse corrals were very large and water was readily available. If we are ever traveling through that area again, we will stop and spend the night at The Horsemen's Outfit. Highly recommend this B & B.". . . Comments: (9/23/06) - "The overnight stay was wonderful and the facilities were right on the highway and very convenient. Great hospitality and very friendly and helpful with directions and finding the location for our stay after our long journey in the dark. The horses were very comfortable in large, safe, well bedded stalls that were a great place to rest for the night. The facilities were large enough for our big truck and trailer to pull around and the night over was very comfortable for our stop. Bob was very friendly and kind, he made our stop over comfortable to know we could rest easy and safe. Thank you Bob very much for everything and we will definitely be calling again the next time we pass through South Dakota. Thank you for everything!"
