Comments: (1/31/13) - "Maggie and her family are the word grace and then some. We arrived on a cold night, very very late and had her, her husband, and grandson there to greet us! It had been an exhausting trip and Maggie was oh so gracious to help us get settled for the night, accommodating our rig, our horses and our camper. Thank you soooo much for helping us make our cross country trip safe and memorable.". . . (2/12/13) - "We were her first guest at this facility. Huge clean pens and the bunk house, while rather chilly, was clean and neat. She provided a coffee pot and microwave. Would recommend this to anyone needing a stop for the mules or horses and needing a place to stay yourself. If I had driven my own trailer with living space it would still have been a great place to unload your animal and let them get some rest from trailering while you stay in your own living quarters. The horse facilities were clean and very nice! They have indoor stalls or large open pens with shade. We also stayed in the bunk house on site and it was very quaint and clean. Amenities included, cozy twin sized beds, a TV, full bathroom, microwave and coffee maker (coffee, creamer and sweetener provided). Very satisfied and definitely recommend Open Heart G!". . . The exercise walker was a great place for our horses to stretch their legs after a long drive. There is a personal guest house on site so I could stay with my horses, which I greatly appreciated. He checked on the horses and made sure they had plenty of water and fed them in the morning and had them ready for us when we got there. Comments: (6/7/04) - "I made arrangements to stay just hours before my arrival. The hosts advised they were out of town, but I could make myself at home. The facilities were perfect for what I needed. My horses and I were the only ones there, which meant no distractions for my animals. I was able to park right next to the corral I chose for my horses. I was also able to exercise my horses in the round pen. Barney did make arrangements for me with one of his neighbors if I needed any help with my horses. I stayed in my gooseneck. It is a beautiful area and was very peaceful. You are about 12 miles from the center of town and food. The well water was fantastic and all of my animals had no problem drinking it. I would stay there again.". . . (3/6/05) - "They were full due to prior scheduled events, but made arrangements for me to stable at the Deming Animal Clinic, which worked out very well. It couldn't have worked out any better for me and my horses.".. .(9/24/05) - "The owners divide their time between two facilities, and when we were in New Mexico, they were at their other location, so the facility was not monitored at all. The corrals were good, and the RV hookups worked fine. But, there were literally swarms of flies that drove us and our horses nuts in spite of soaking them and ourselves in fly repellant.". . .(12/21/06) - "I found that the new owners are very friendly and greeted us as we arrived, as late as midnight, then made sure we were settled in. The host gave us directions, printed out the weather map for the next days travel and even let us clean out our trailer." (8/2/07) - "The owners were very friendly and welcoming. My horses were relaxed and happy to roll around the large pens. Large, clean water buckets were full and waiting in each horse pen. It was easy to maneuver a big rig in and out of the property. Best of all, we didn't have to clean the pens as they were going to use the manure on the garden.". . .(11/19/08) - "We definitely put this ranch on our permanent "hole-up" places when we're on the road. In addition to the above ratings, the location of this ranch is close enough to I-10 for easy access, but far enough from the freeway to be very quiet. It is a full service facility for RVs (i.e. 30 Amp plug in, water (GREAT tasting) and sewer dump). Each spot has the full service amenities. Awesome!". . . (10/30/11) - "If you want a very peaceful environment this is the perfect place. Access to BLM land with beautiful mountains at your fingertips. Some cattle and we found three watering holes. Our dogs were able to tag along which they enjoyed! Riding conditions were awesome.". . . (12/31/12) - "Met us at the gate even though it was well past dark when we arrived and helped us find glasses that our horse knocked off my husband. Stall was ready for us with water filled. We had brought our own hay, but it was offered. We would stay here again."

Only negative is that the ranch is a fair distance from town. But worth the drive away from Deming. If you were travelling from west to east it wouldn't be a big problem. Going the other way, we had to double back after leaving the motel and getting the horses to be on our way west. Would certainly stay there again.". . . They said they might add small cabins for people to stay with their horses which would be great, the hotel was a little far but it was worth it for this great spot for the horses. There was a good restaurant and bar at the hotel in town so that added to the overall positives.". . . He also had no problems with us leaving the U-Haul and dropping our trailer overnight so we could go eat and get a motel, which was within 3-5 miles of this facility. Gates are locked at night and the security of the facility was more than adequate. Great price for the stalls, we paid $10/night. We really enjoyed JP's company and will definitely stay again. I actually slept good knowing they were caring for our animals. They helped us unload, feed and load the next day. They even served us the best cinnamon rolls in the world and coffe before we left. This horse facility is a ten in my book. We'll definitely be back and I recommend to anyone traveling in New Mexico."

We felt our horses were in very good hands. Lydia found a strap belonging to one our horse blankets and has offered to send it back. We'd return there any time.". . .
