(Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)

Comments: (10/2/04) - "You couldn't ask for a nicer stable and hosts. Next door is a restaurant called Jerry's that has a walleye dinner (all you can eat) that is some of the best walleye I ever tasted. Motels within minutes and fast food if you're into that. Dave & Kathy Corder are very fine hosts that I totally trusted with a new horse I was bringing home to Ohio from southern Missouri. What a fantastic facility. I don't belive that you will find a better or more secure place to park your horse." (12/24/04) - "What a terrific facility. Take a few minutes with Dave & Kathy to hear the story of Campground Stables. Chi Chi enjoyed the pampering that the Corders gave her. A definite 'do again'.". . .(4/11/05) - "We arrived late at Dave and Kathy's barn. They were standing in the driveway to greet us. I was amazed at how large the stalls were. And the place was immaculate. We had an older horse that wasn't use to traveling long distances and wasn't looking good. They checked on his condition in the middle of the night. The next morning Dave helped us load up. The location is perfect, just off I-70. I would stay there again without question.". . .(6/26/05) - "I will continue to stay there and will highly recommend to everyone I know and meet throughout the show season and beyond. Dave and Kathy were wonderful, they made us feel so at home. The stalls were awesome, my horses didn't like the idea of going back on the trailer to continue the trip home. Thank you Dave and Kathy we look forward to seeing you in October and again next July. Chad and Stacy Mullen". . .(11/1/05) - "Very convenient to I-70. Stall plus turnout was perfect for our horses so that they could get some exercise. Would definitely stay there again.". . .(12/26/05) - "Excellent hosts, We will continue to stop here when ever possible.". . .(9/1/06) - "Dave and Kathy were outstanding hosts! You will not find any better accommodations or friendlier people! The stalls are huge, very clean and they have everything you will need, just bring your horse. The facility is beautiful with a small lake and turnouts for your horses, they also have electricity for your trailer hookup. We have stayed on two different occasions now and the second time it was as if we were family. I called on a days notice and it was no problem. Any time we are passing through this area we will definitely use this facility. THANKS AGAIN Dave & Kathy YOU ARE THE BEST!". . .(7/1/07) - "Dave went beyond the call of duty helping when we were coming through a bad storm and a tornado, he stayed on the phone with us and watched the radar. Dave and Kathy were both super nice folks and very caring about the horses' as well as our well being. The facilities were exceptionally nice, clean and safe. We hope that Dave and Kathy have a lot of success, they are great folks.". . . (12/9/07) - "These people were very nice and went out of their way to make sure we were set up in the middle of the night. One of the cleanest facilities I've ever been to. Very convenient, and I will definitely stay there again.". . .(3/20/08)- "Couldn't ask for a better place to stop! HUGE stalls with attached large paddocks if you want your horses to have the option of being in or out, best of both worlds! Immaculate facility, right off the interstate. Were greeted upon arrival and warmly welcomed. On my way back I got caught in bad weather and didn't arrive until nearly 2am, but Dave graciously allowed me to drop my horse off for the night. Super 8 is very close, may not be a five star but it is affordable, clean and comfortable. I will use Campground Stables again when crossing through IL! Thanks for everything!!! Dionne and Karen.". . . (5/13/10) - "Thanks for the warm welcome so late at night. Razzle, Shorty, and Black Jack want to extend their sincere thanks for the large roomy stalls and green luscious paddocks. Bev and Joe send thanks for the comfortable bed, the snacks and the great conversation. Hope to stay there again.". . . (6/10/10) - "We really can't say enough nice things about our stay! Dave and Kathy are wonderful hosts! Awesome to have a comfortable bed to rest on, with our pets welcomed as well (ask about their sleeping rooms for rent). Felt right at home. My 3 horses loved it! Beautiful setting, fun pond to paddle boat on (and the dogs had fun swimming!) If we are ever within a few hours drive, we will definitely return! HIGHLY recommend!". . . (8/3/10) - "Dave and Kathy are AWESOME! We had to change our arrival date at the last minute and they were gracious enough to accommodate us. They even offer "human" rooms which worked out GREAT for us. The property is beautiful and easy to find. I would HIGHLY recommend their place to anyone needing a "horse hotel"!! 4*+ RATING!". . . (9/8/10) - "It's too bad there isn't an "exemplary" category as these were the hosts & facilities. Friendly, welcoming, extremely clean and secure. Our little mare was very happy to have both a turnout in which to roll and a box fan in her stall. Conveniently close to I-70 but so peaceful & quiet. If you don't plan a stop here you are missing out. Thank you, Kathy & Dave!". . . (10/6/10) - "I hauled my horse from Fallon, NV to Hamilton, VA in September and Campground Stables was by far the nicest stop on my journey. Dave was ready and waiting upon our arrival and the facilities were everything I needed for my 26 year old Thoroughbred. Human lodging at the stables was also top notch, and you can't beat the price! The best deal of my trip. I will stay again if I'm hauling horses, and would stay if making a trip across country. The hospitality and facilities are second to none.". . . (11/20/10) - "Dave and Kathy are super great. I had a very comfortable stay and a safe stay for my horse.". . . (1/16/12) - "What a wonderful experience! As we traveled across the country both our horses and us were pleased to have such a clean, comfortable and welcoming facility. Friendly and personable people with a really hospitable place thanks to Dave and Kathy- our kids enjoyed your toy room, our horses enjoyed the spacious stalls and turnouts and we loved the warmth and whole experience you provided! We will definitely pass your name along to other travelers!"

Comments: "Karen is a most wonderful person! Be sure to stop there if you are going through Illinois!". . ."Host was extremely helpful in settling my horse and giving me directions to my next destination and telling me where to stay (that allowed pets). Host checked horse in the evening, too! My horse liked it. Clean, safe and spacious enough for my horse to stretch without hurting himself. An excellent place to stay in inclement weather, as the stalls open directly into a covered arena.". . (10/1/02) - "I can not recommend this place enough. The owners were soooo nice. This place was great. We were traveling from Iowa to Michigan and need a place to stay for a few days. Their stalls open up on a covered arena. The horses really enjoyed getting out of their stalls for a little exercise after being trailered. We went trail riding at their place and at the canal. We had so much fun that we plan on going back again. This is a great place to stay!!!!". . .(5/4/04) - "Just left the motel and was very pleased with all facilities. The Huskeys are wonderful hosts. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone traveling with horses.". . .(6/12/05) - "Karen was very helpful when it came to loading an inexperienced horse in the trailer. With good humor and a lot of patience, he finally clambered in without unduly upsetting him.". . .(9/19/06) - "Very nice and helpful host. A beautiful place with comfortable accommodations for the horses. I did not notice the proximity to "human" food and lodging, as we stayed in our RV.". . .(12/7/07) - "Lovely indoor facility which was immaculate and secure...Mrs. Huskey was a wonderful hostess.". . . (7/14/09) - "Karen was wonderful. Met us when we got there and even gave us some shampoo and conditioner to wash our horses with! Our horses were very comfortable.". . . (8/21/09) - "Great place to spend the night. We ended up getting there very late and we were met at the curb by a very friendly person. She was great and helped us immensely in getting our horses settled for the evening. It was our first long distance haul and didn't know what to expect, it was great. Would gladly stay here again. Thank you very much."

Thanks!". . .(4/12/07) - "We were welcomed to this farm by its gracious host, Marjorie. The stalls/barn are safe and maintained-nice quiet facility for our horse to layover. We stayed in the apartment above the barn-was clean, warm and quiet. The apartment was so convenient-to be able to quickly settle in, cook a meal, shower, and relax. A great layover for my horse and family!". . . (5/6/11) - "We spent a night at Wellgreen Farms in Downs, IL. This was a wonderful facility because they had an apartment right above the stalls for us to stay in. Very comfortable, relaxing, air, heat, hot water- everything we needed. You could easily stay there several days and be very comfortable. It was great to just unload, put our mule in the stall and not have to load ourselves back up! Thanks Wellgreen Farms for your wonderful place! If anyone is looking for a spot along the way-this was great!"

Comments: (11/18/02) - "This was the best facility of the 6 we stayed with. The horse facility was exceptionally clean and well lighted. Large stalls for our "draft" horses. The people rooms were also extremely comfortable and clean. The Rybaks could not have been more accommodating. I recommend this to all travelers.". . .(6/10/03) - "Very nice and we would go back!". . .(6/25/03) - "What a lovely stay we had! I highly recommend WildHorse. ( The owners ) . .are wonderful hosts, the accommodations are comfortable, convenient and clean. Huge stalls with nice turnout. I can't wait to travel through that area so I can stay again!. . .(12/25/03) - "Absolutely the best! Spotless stalls, very friendly hosts. I stopped on short notice on the way to Arkansas for a field trial. On the way out very early the next morning the owner met me at my trailer with a hot cup of coffee.". . .(5/31/04) - "Very friendly host. Facilities were very nice. They even moved a round pen so our horses would have lots of fresh grass. We're very happy to have selected them.". . . (4/11/05) - "This was the best facility we stayed at on our trip from MI to AZ. We were met while still pulling in the driveway. The stall was very large and spotless as was the barn and room. The fridge was full and there was a large variety of snacks and quick meals. We can't recommend this stable highly enough. It exceeded all expectations ten fold.". . .(11/10/05) - "My wife and I stayed . . . from Monday night until Thursday morning. {The owners} were there when we arrived, even though we were later than we expected to be, cheerful and helpful. Our room was actually more than we had been led to expect. There was plenty of space for our needs and the accommodations for our horses, who arrived the day after we did, were very good, with plenty of fresh water and hay. Our hosts were friendly and unfailingly pleasant, knowledgeable about the area, and gave us great directions to everything we needed during our stay. I actually think they were as excited about seeing our horses as we were. . . We will be returning at the first opportunity.". . (8/31/06) - "My first time traveling with my horse and the overnight was great. Very large stall with turnout attached. Great care, horse was relaxed and comfortable. Highly recommend!". . . (3/28/09) - "What a fantastic place! We called at the last minute on our way back from our our honeymoon, and were greeted with nothing but hospitality! Our mules very much appreciated the big size corrals and green grass! One of the best layover places I've stabled my animals at! Thanks!". . . (6/14/09) - "We were very well pleased with our accommodations and the facilities for our horse. Everything was as represented by the owners. Rich and Brenda were there to greet us upon our arrival and helped us with our horse. The stall was ready with fresh water and bedding. They had subs and snacks ready for us, which was a great treat. Rich and Brenda are very gracious and wonderful hosts. We would, and will, stay at Wild Horse Stables again. Thanks Rich and Brenda for a great stay."

Marla even called a hotel for me to ask the questions I had. A very positive experience overall and highly recommended; hosts live in apartment in the barn. Comments: (5/14/03) - "We have stayed with Kelly for two trips to Eminence, MO from Chicago, coming and going. Wonderful, caring people. Recommend highly.". . .(5/4/06) - "A small, somewhat cramped barn--but ideal location, location, location. The hosts were very helpful with directions, very welcoming on arrival. The transit stalls were very nice--but getting to them means a careful walk through narrow barn aisles. We'd happily stay here again." .. (Owners' reply to preceding comments) - "Oops, sorry about the "neatness" neutral, we've been rehabbing--we ARE clean! Had we known they were "green" for 1:30am arrival, we would have put them in smaller stalls up front. Goliath made it through with no problems--so can you!". . . . .(7/21/06) - "Great host, great place to stay on your way west., would definitely. stay again.". . .(7/31/06) - "Nice facility, people were very nice and took great care of my new horse that was transported in from PA. The transport service American Equine highly recommends this stable for layover or drop offs due to easy access off of the highway. Thanks again.". . . (3/28/09) - "We came through twice very late in the evening, and Kelly was happy to greet us and open the gate! Somehow we got off track time wise, and Kelly was nothing but flexible. Very convenient to hotels (dog friendly), interstate, and fast food."

Comments: (7/6/02) - (Owner's Comments) "Hot Shot, the 2001 NFR Barrel Champion, and his buddy and his people stayed for 2 days between shows. The Steinhoff family is very friendly and down to earth for famous folk. They even helped me with a fun show for lesson students during their stay! They were happy with my facility and care of their horses and the kids enjoyed swimming in my kiddy pool and playing basketball and volleyball.". . . 11/8/02) - "The facilities are nice and the host is accommodating. I felt very comfortable staying here. The resident cat was extremely friendly also. I would definitely recommend this stable.". . .(1/28/03) - "Very clean and friendly environment. April, the owner, is very knowledgeable in the health and care for any visiting horses as well as the boarders horses. The tack shop located right on the premises is very resonable in pricing and contains all the necessary equipment plus all the fun and enjoyable items. I will recommend this facility to all my friends.". . .(7/6/04) - "I loved the accommodations at Coyote Creek Tack and Stables Inc. April is a very pleasent person to be around and very friendly. . . . When I boarded my horse for two weeks out there, she allowed me to use the arenas and round pen any time I wanted to. I started having troubles with my horse in riding and she helped me work it out. She has over 3 hours worth of trails for your enjoyment and they are always clean ones. The horses even get the enjoyment of snacking on some corn stalks while on the way down the trail! If I were to say in one word how my overall experience at CCT and CCSI was I would say: WONDERFUL! April has a very nice facility." (11/15/04) - "April was very friendly and professional. The facilities are clean and inviting. Coyote Creek Stables is convenient to the interstate for travelers. It also has riding facilities and trails. I would recommend this stable.". . .(4/28/08) - "April was very helpful and runs an outstanding facility. There is a tack store on the grounds if needed and a wounderful indoor arena for your horses to run and stretch their legs. I have stayed in several facilities throughout the country and this was without a doubt the BEST. Thanks, April.". . . (2/1/09) - "This was our 5th stay at this facility. April's barn is clean, friendly and professional. She was accommodating for our special requests for our horses and late arrival time. There were many options before stalling our horses to turn out in the round pen, indoor or outdoor arenas to stretch their legs. Highly recommended.". . . (10/25/11) - "Coyote Creek is a clean, wonderful facility and April is a great host who will work with you in whatever you need! Coyote Creek is approximately 10 minutes from the interstate and food options. April gives her overnight boarders the option to put their horse(s) in stalls or a turn out pen to stretch their legs. The indoor and outdoor arenas are also for use in stretching the horses legs for a while even if you would prefer a stall for the rest of your stay. The extra stalls that were built over the summer are the perfect size for oversized horses. April will even give her overnighters the option of sleeping in the overnight room or hooking up their trailer for a reasonable rate. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is traveling!". . . (11/11/11) - ) - "Great place! Huge stalls ~ private barn for overnight guests. Very quiet and relaxing! Close to the highway. I was very pleased and would highly recommend Coyote Creek!". . . (11/14/11) - "I was impressed with the indoor arena and the stalls. The overnight room was very comfortable and you could see the corral from your windows. It was only a short drive back to the highway. Would highly reccommend to others who travel thru central IL."
