Comments: (7/18/06) - "Nice clean stalls. Was able to spend a rainy night in my camper just outside the stable.". . .(5/15/07) - "This facility was safe and secure. On Sundays they do not clean stalls, so the stalls were dirty when we arrived. Had to clean out ourselves. There is food and lodging very close to this facility.". . . (1/29/09) - "Owner very responsive and accommodating to my needs despite being out of town at the time and last minute notice. Staffers present on site (24 hrs?). Kind, friendly, and low-key. Urban facility, but had good-sized stalls with attached small individual turnout. Very close to Denver and metropolis. Will visit again."

Comments: (9/7/03) - "Not only a fantastic boarding facility, but a great vacation spot as well. Hosts are very friendly and knowledgable. I would recommend this place to everyone!". . .(6/3/04) - "These are great folks and they will make your trip SUPER. Facilities are great and you can ride out from camp into the National Forest. You will have a pleasant stay at this facility. Highly recommend.". . .(8/17/04) - "I want to give a Big Country Thanks to Rick & Laurie, for making our Vacation 07-30-04 the best ever... I had real concerns about taking (4) our horses so far away from home, knowing that we wanted 2 ride horses, 4 wheelers and still do alittle site seeing as well. Laurie made my horses so well cared for, I had 2 make them get in the trailer when it was time to go. Actually, my whole family & neighbors that were with us all hated that our vacation had to end. The Lincoln National Forest was so beautiful and the facilities more than meeted our needs, not to mention the cool Cowboy Bar as well. Thanks again for a great time, looking forward to coming back soon.". . .(8/10/05) - "This is our Family & Friends 2nd year to go to Saul's Creek. We had talked about trying a new place, but the safety of our horses has always been my top priority. We had the best vacation ever. We rode our horses more, trying to explore just one more place, and rode 4 wheelers everywhere, up some very challenging places, yet we still made sure to go see alittle more vaiety, by visiting Silverton & lake Vallecito for fishing, and of course hot springs at Pagosa. This is truly the best place to stay to fit all of the needs for a large or small group.". . .(8/9/08)- "AWESOME! This was my first "horse camping" experience in our living quarters trailer. Tim was so easy going and accommodating. Everything was very smooth (other than a bad bug season). I would highly recommend this facility. Great access to both Pagosa Springs and Denver and GREAT riding. Ride right out the front gate and go for as long as you'd like. If not, trailer out to one of the various other National forest pull offs. It was beautiful!". . . (4/4/11) - "Hello Tim, great to have met you and love your facility. Will return for sure and ride your trails. Great set-up you have and you made our over nite stay rememberable. Thanks for everything and will certainly stop again. Bryan & Carol Ontario Canada."

With 50 years in the horse business, she really knows her stuff. She was very hospitable!". . .(2/1/03) - "Joan has taken care of my horses many times and we usually haul in late which has never been a problem with Joan. Nice, clean enclosed stalls with runs and fresh water kept full, even through out the night. My horses rest well there.". . .(8/27/03) - " The host "Joan" was very friendly. The facility is very neat and orderly. I will make it a point to stop again.". . .(10/30/03) - "Super facility/owner who provided us with fantastic service at the last minute. Wonderful sized stalls,-we were allowed to just drive up & plug in for the nite!!! Morning coffee & rolls complete with a personal send off of Godspeed topped our stay !!! Owner is an exceptional horse person who knows the needs of the frantic traveler aka horse shower!!! Sanitary, super clean facility !!!!! Hugs.............Kacy.". . .(4/1/04) - "We have been using her motel for the last four years and will make a stay there this year also. She is a great person.". . .(7/2/05) - "Wonderful host. Joan is so friendly and helpful. Stalls and runs were wonderfully bedded and sized. Would stop again on our way out to Colorado!". . .(5/25/07) - "These people are with out a doubt a top notch horse motel. SUPER PEOPLE! I couldn't ask for people to be any more accommodating than these people were. Especially in an emergency. Thank You Alan & Joan! Sincerely, Pam.". . .(10/11/07) - "Easy to find. very accommodating. very clean.". . .(11/19/07) - "This was our first time at JB's and it won't be the last. Clean, well kept, secure and very easy to find even in the dark. Joanie was out to the barn a couple of times during the night to check on the horses, and still greeted Walt with a pot of coffee and fresh donuts this morning. Tell me, how does it get better than that?". . . (7/31/10) - "Felt like I was staying with the neighbor.". . . (9/18/13) - "This place was EXCELLENT. Grandma Joe, as she likes to be called, is amazing :) the barn is very clean and safe. When we arrived the stalls had fresh shaving and clean water buckets waiting for our horses. The stalls have a small paddock attached, which is great. Loved that the horses could spend time in or out after a long day of traveling. I can not recommend this place enough. I felt my horse was in great hands. Joan even went out at midnight to refill their water buckets and monitor how much they were drinking. What a lovely stay the horses had."

Comments: (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(5/31/06) - "Unfortunately, one of only a few of the horse motels on my web site that I've had the pleasure of visiting. My wife and I had a very pleasant stay. The facility is easy to find and close to I-70, the stall was safe, clean, and large, the host was most personable, and we had a nice motel and good food nearby. The host and her daughter met us for breakfast and new friendships were made. I'm pleased to have this facility listed as a horse motel on my web site. Dick Beck - Horse Motels International.". . . (6/6/06) - "{The owner} came out at Midnight to the interstate to lead Walt in to the ranch. You KNOW that makes them worth their collective weight in gold right there. The personal attention could not have been better. She knew just where everything was that he could need, and how to get him there. WHen he slept in, Vonnie was out there checking on the critters and feeding them. This is on the top of our list of stops to become regular.". . .(9/22/06) - "Great family, clean, friendly, would stay again!!!! Great feed, clean water. Fairly priced.". . .(3/12/07) - "Thank you . . . for such a nice place to overnight with our horses. We are looking forward to a longer stay so we can ride some of the trails that are so close to your ranch. Sincerely, Jean Bickers, Moab.". . .(6/2/07) - "I was absolutely thrilled that even though my day had not gone as planned and even though I pulled in to Clifton, CO at 11:00 at night, the owners were not hesitant in the least to come to town and lead us to their facilities. Not only that but I was bringing home two stallions and they did everything I wished about making them safe. I was extremely tired and nervous and I cannot thank them enough.". . .(8/28/07) - "Excellent place to stay. Nice people. Clean and easy to find. Highly recommend.". . .(11/12/07) - "We had a Richie Wingfield Horsemanship clinic at this facility and it could not have been better! The horses were fed small portions several times during 24 hours and early enough so they were ready to ride in the clinic. And the host even fixed "continental breakfast" for the riders while the horses ate their breakast. It was a great time!". . .(4/4/06) - "Great people, quality hay, easy in and out. Have been great, used now for 2 years.". . . (10/31/09) - "We had planned to stay at the DiamondRose Ranch on our way to Colorado, however our truck broke down in Green River, UT. I called the DiamondRose Ranch (Vonnie) to tell her that we didn't think we would make it to the ranch as planned. She was so kind and concerned about our well-being. She even took time to go on the internet to see if a horse motel was available in Green River. She couldn't find any. She advised us to stay in Green River if there was any doubt our truck couldn't make it to the ranch, as there were no services between Green River and Grand Junction. We managed to find some very nice people that took our horses in for the two days we were stranded there. Vonnie even called back to check up on us and to see if there was anything else she could do. She said she wished we were closer so she could come get us (we were 100 miles away). It's caring people like Vonnie and the folks that came to our rescue in Green River that makes you so thankful that people like them still exist.". . . (4/30/11) - "Bonnie was wonderful. We were quite late in arriving and she met us on the road and escorted us to her facility. Her facility was clean and spacious. She provided water and fed our hay in the morning. Thank you Bonnie for your generous hospitality.". . . (5/23/11) - "By far the best place I have ever kept my horse. Vonnie was extremely nice and took such great care of my horse. Place was very clean and I recommend keeping your horse there.". . . (8/29/11) - "Bonnie and Jamie are wonderful. First my truck blew up and I was stranded on the road with 2 horses and my husband found their number on this site. I called them and they responded super fast and helped me get my horses off the highway and to their facility which was very charming and inviting. I was super stressed from my drive and break down and they made me feel so comfortable and took wonderful care of my horses. They made it so I did not have to worry about my 2 favorite horses. I just knew they were in great hands. I would recommend this place to anyone. From your trail horse to your fancy show horses, this was a lovely and safe place to keep your horses while visiting or breaking down in Clifton or Grand Junction, Colorado. Thank you so much Bonnie and Jamie for your selfless act and for the exceptional care you provided to my horses. Hope to see you both again. Riley Haines.". . . (8/29/11) - "My girlfriend's transmission went out in her truck. The owner's daughter Jami went and picked up my friend and her horses. They provide an AMAZING facility! It is extremely clean and professional. No matter what type of horse you have, they will think they are at a 5 star horse motel! This is a very professional business and I would recommend the Diamond Rose Ranch to anyone! Thanks Bonnie; we don't know what we would have done without you!". . . (8/29/11) - "My friend was stranded on the highway and the Diamond Rose Ranch rescued the day. We called late on a Saturday night and received help ASAP. No matter the situation you are in your horse will be in good hands with this family! Very clean, friendly, safe and a beautiful landscape. Thanks Bonnie and Jami!". . . (11/11/11) - "Oh my, oh my, oh MY! LOVELY. Idyllic! It's like Snow White land with pairs of geese, ducks, fluffy chickens and a friendly turkey (yes) who come up to you to visit when you arrive. Then there are the lovely dogs. And the VIEW! Stunning view of the mesa. Don't be put off by the slight left and rights to get to the place. LOVELY! I am coming back through and will stay with her again and again and again. Yummy hay for the horses. She is a complete GEM! Not a large place. Quiet, safe and intimate. She made my night... I was happy and safe there. And my horse loved it. Stay here!". . . (4/10/13) - "Vonnie has a wonderful ranch and made our stay perfect. Very helpful and accommodating. Would visit again. On our way from AZ to Ontario, Canada. Great stop over for our two horses April 3, 2013. Thanks Vonnie, the Turners."

Would stay there again in a heartbeat.". . .(5/29/03) - "We had such a great time staying with Ed and Arlene on the way to Pagosa Springs, that we made sure we stopped there on our way back North. What gracious hosts and a spotless facility!". . .(8/25/03) - "This was our 3rd stay and we just loved it as much as always! Ed and Arlene are the bests hosts and their place is just beautiful. Wish we had more opportunities to head to Co. Springs in order to stay over at H2!". . . (9/14/03) - "Ed and Arlene are wonderful hosts. My horses were safe, well cared for and well rested. The B&B was fantastic. Great views from our window. Great hospitality from Ed and Arlene, and a super fantastic breakfast of waffels with fresh peach sclices, homemade apple cinnamon syrup and bacon. And be sure and say "hay" to Willie, the 40 year old horse there! Highly recommend staying at the H2 ranch.". . .(8/21/06) - "Ed and Arlene provided pristine surroundings and everything is beautiful at their facility. They even provided perfect weather. All neat and tidy. My horse had a beautiful view for the night and great air. We'd come again and recommend them highly.". . .(1/13/07) - "Ed and Arlene are great, best place to be in a blizzard, I know, stayed three days!". . .(7/11/08) - "Extremely nice people...good location...easy access even for our 40' trailer. Nice facility, a great place for your horse to get rest and a great place to exercise them. Very comfortable.". . . (7/28/09) - "Our stay with Arlene & Ed at H2 was just what we needed during our overnight en route to Pagosa Springs. Our horse was very comfortable in the outside pen we requested. While he relaxed, we went into the town of Monument for dinner. The entire area of Black Forest/Monument are quite nice. We humans enjoyed the hospitality in the two guest rooms in their home - more than clean, charming and comfortable - they share a bath between them. We were treated to a delicious, home-cooked breakfast: fresh fruit, apple-filled pancakes and syrup, bacon. They are wonderful hosts and we hope to enjoy a visit again sometime. It would be a great location to stay and take trail rides.". . . (8/25/09) - "On a recent trip to Colorado, my husband and I made a trip to Colorado. Our travel plans changed midstream, and we were fortunate enough to discover the H2 Horse Motel and Bed and Breakfast, owned by Ed and Arlene Housley. Without a doubt, our stay was the highlight of our trip. The Housleys are wonderful people, exceptional hosts in every way! We highly recommend staying at their amazing piece of heaven in Colorado Springs, it was truly a delight! The Healys.". . . (9/1/10) - "Super nice folks with an outstanding facility!". . . (11/28/10) - "What a terrific experience it was to stay at Ed and Arlene's horse motel and bed and breakfast. Our horse loved the place and so did we. Wonderful folks, beautiful accommodations... We WILL be back!". . . (7/16/12) - "Wonderful!". . . (12/12/13) - "Ed and Arlene are great folks. Super facility."

Comments: (1/14/05) - "Jerry and Carol were the greatest of assistance to us and our horses. They dealt with our delay in arrival as if it were no problem in all. Our horses absolutely loved their stay with Jerry and Carol and were treated as if they were one of Jerry and Carol's own. By the time morning came around Jerry and Carol had our horses personalities down pat and knew who was begging for more attention and who really was in need of it. We absolutely would recommend Jones Livery to anyone who is in need of a spot to keep a horse or two or five (in our case). You can't ask for better people and let me tell you Missy, Cisco, Seven, Sunny and Yukon would recommend them as well. Jerry and Carol are the absolute best people you could ask for and their facility is wonderful as well. Thanks a ton, we truly appreciate all your help!". . .(2/8/05) - "Jerry and Carol are absolutely the greatest. If you want the royal treatment for your horses this is the place to go. These people offer all you could ever want and more, the compassion they have for animals is outstanding and there aren't any two people greater. A huge thanks to them!!". . .(7/17/06) - "Very clean, modern facilty. Good directions easy to find. Hosts very accommodating and caring. A first class establishment. Highly recommended.". . .(9/3/07) - "Carol and Jerry were fantastic! I had a medical situation and Carol kindly accompanied me to the emergency room while Jerry took care of my horse. It was such a relief and greatly appreciated!". . .(9/15/07) - "Jerry and Carol were fantastic! I had a medical emergency for me and while Jerry took care of my horse, Carol accompanied me to the emergency room. It was so nice to have someone take care of my horse and me! Their facility is super!"

We look forward to returning many times in the future. Great place and great people!". . . (9/14/04) - "Lee and Loralee have an absolutely first rate outfit. Though we had never met, we were treated like old friends. The barn and pens were top notch and immaculate. Room was private, quiet, and very comfortable. Breakfast was super, prepared to our request. The Carters' place is the benchmark for a B & B with horse facilities.". . . (10/7/09) - "Owners of this facility are THE BEST. The barn/stall/turnouts are pristine as are overnight human accommodations. It was like being at home!". . . (8/31/10) - "Recently, we stayed at the Carter's little piece of heaven in Ft. Collins. You will be hard pressed to find any nicer, more accommodating hosts, they are simply THE BEST! Their horse facilities are pristine. It was worth the drive from Texas to enjoy the incredible breakfasts we were served while there. Make it a point to stop at this horse motel/bed and breakfast, it will truly be a highlight of your trip!". . . (10/6/10) - "My second stop on a trip from Fallon, NV to Hamilton, VA. Lee and Lora Lee run a first class facility. They were ready on our arrival and my 26 year Thoroughbred settled right in and appreciated the chance to unwind in the arena after his day on the road. The human facilities are second to none! The breakfast and company the following morning ensured that my day on the road got off to a great start. We even got a motorcycle escort to the highway! I most highly recommend staying, I will stay again if I'm hauling across country.". . . (11/24/12) - "We were moving from Montana to Texas, so we had a 17' U Haul Truck pulling our car, along with the truck and horse trailer. They helped us out by letting us leave all vehicles there, while we stayed with our niece in Fort Collins. Nice couple, nice place! THANKS!". . . (9/19/13) - "Absolutely wonderful!! Thoroughly happy with my stay.". . . (11/17/13) - "Truly a hospitality oasis! Lee and LoraLee are probab;y the most gracious hosts you will encounter in your travels."

Loved the outdoor pens for our show horses. We kept the horses with Beth on our way to and from the Pinto World Show and will stay there again if we are ever passing through. Everything was right there for us and we felt very safe leaving the horses there. Thank you!". . . (7/22/11) - "Very nice, friendly, clean corrals, easy access to I-70. We stayed in our rig next to paddock. Definitely recommend Craig Ranch.". . . (8/31/11) - "Plus - Very friendly and caring hosts. They genuinely work toward your stay to be safe and enjoyable! Paddocks clean and good bio-security practices. Minus: Hook-ups are by the area with old, unused equipment and old trees with fragile limbs. Area is close to RR tracks and highway. My AC drowned out the noises though.". . . (9/13/11) - "Beth and John are just the best hosts! We travel twice a year to our ranch in Nebraska and this is the highlight of our trip. How can you beat a safe place for your horses, wonderful rooms for yourself, all topped off by a gourmet breakfast? An A+ place to stay!". . . (3/5/12) - "Absolutely wonderful hospitality! You can't go wrong.". . . (6/14/12) - "Wonderful hosts, beautiful home, lovely rooms, fabulous breakfast, anything you want, and beautifully presented. Great big safe pens for the horses, close to town. We'll be back! Thank you for everything, Mimi.". . . (7/10/12) - "Excellent place to house any number of horses in paddocks. Very neat and tidy and very organized. The human facilities on-site were great as well and it was just about 5 minutes from Limon. Awesome place!". . . (8/17/12) - "This is the best place to stay while traveling across Colorado!! Best people ya'll ever meet.". . . (1/18/13) - "Always feel so welcome. Everything is the best.". . . (7/3/13) - "5 Stars! Great, easy Access from I-70. Facility is neat and clean. Large pipe pens with buckets for water and hay available. RV site is level, mowed, and lit at night. Great hosts! Will be back!". . . (3/24/14) - "No stalls but nice pens! Very easy to get to and easy for a big rig to pull in. I didn't use the bed &breakfast so I can't comment on that. I don't know if a town was close by as we didn't go. Very friendly and made sure we were set before leaving us for the night. Great place to stay! Very animal friendly and horse friendly!"

Comments: (3/16/13) - "The hosts, Dimitri & Chris, are hardworking hosts whose goal is to serve their guests. The breakfasts are phenominal! The horse stalls and pet facilities are very good. A great place to trail ride from during the Summer, Spring, & Fall.". . . (8/10/13) - "Chris and Dimitri were awesome. They greeted us on arrival and assisted us in every way possible. They are clearly professional horse people. The barn and stalls were immaculate. The grounds of the property were beautiful. They hold weddings on the property. It would be a great place for a romantic wedding. The food was impressive. The presentation of the food felt more like the Ritz Carlton than a Mancos Colorado Mountain Hideaway. I would recommend the Hobo Hideaway to everyone. You won't be disappointed."

The horse facilities were wonderful, and Julia fed ample hay, there was some leftover when we departed. Winter Sage Ranch has it all together, and their priorities are right on. We would definitely stay over again!! Our best overnight horse experience yet!!". . .(7/18/06) - "Clean and modern facility, easy to find, friendly hosts. Comments: (5/4/11) - "I was most happy with my overnight stay, especially since the proprieters were able to accommodate me on very short notice. Easy to find. The owners were most gracious and even offered for me to join their family for dinner! . . . . I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a safe place to keep their horse. Nothing fancy but adequate facilities for my horse. My only suggestion is to bring your own water heater if staying overnight when the temps are below freezing at night as there was not a water heater available at the time that I stayed. Would definitely stay with them again!"

(9/17/08) - "We had the pleasure of keeping our 3 horses and staying in our trailor at Ike and Roylynne's facility this summer. Comments: (5/20/05) - "Very nice facility.". . .(6/3/05) - "Due to an unfortunate accident our arrival to the stable was late. These kind peaple went out of their way to ensure that my friend and I were okay. They also put extra time in with one of the old geldings we were hauling. I cannot thank them enough nor can I say enough good things about them. I will go out of my way to stay at this stable when I am traveling!! Once again THANK YOU Larry and Marge!!". . .(5/28/06)- "These folks were great, even helped us find our old dog that wandered off. Our mare had a very nice stall with turn out and I highly recommend these folks and their facility. My husband put 6 horses up there 3 weeks earlier and raved about how nice it all was. I agree, . . ."7/17/06) - "A+. Great place to stay. Really nice facility. Really nice owners. Would recommend to anyone traveling thru Colorado or Southern Wyoming.". . .(8/2/06) - "Marge and Larry are wonderful people! Their facility is excellent! I highly recommend staying at Interstate Stables!". . .(11/21/06) - "Larry and Marge made us feel so welcome. Their horse facility (both indoor and outdoor) is notably clean, comfortable and secure. They went far beyond good customer service to great hospitality. I recommend them highly.". . .(4/5/07) - "I have used these stables twice in the last year and it's a super nice place run by super nice folks!". . .(6/15/07) - "Great place so stay, easy to get to off main Highway. Lots of room for a big truck and trailer. (we have a Freightliner with 40 trailer). Stayed here twice and if our travels bring us through Colorado again, will definitely be back.". . .(8/15/07) - "Larry & Marge Enke have been great hosts and were a tremendous help when our aged mare went down with colic/strangulated gut. While we couldn't save her, their kindness/concern and efficiency in getting a very good vet out right away made what was a tough time a little easier to bear. Our most sincere thanks to them. We highly recommend Interstate Stables as a very good place to stay, with super nice folks. Ron & Jan Ferraro, N.Idaho". . .(9/23/07) - "It was an excellent experience after logging 2000+ miles with a trailer and 12 hours with a retired horse.". . .(4/27/08) - "Very nice people with a super nice facility. Thank you so much!". . .(5/12/08) - "Beautiful facilities. Marge and Larry are wonderful and so caring. She called me early in the morning to let me know our Paint was in stress. Ended up staying an extra day after having the vet out. The other horses and mules really enjoyed running around the huge outdoor arena and getting a little R&R. Highly recommend leaving your horses with Marge and Larry.". . .(5/28/08) - "On our trip from the east to the west coast, this was the nicest, cleanest stable we stayed at. It was located right off the highway and the arena offered an exercise area for our tired horses. The stalls were so clean that we could have slept in them! The owners were wonderful and kept a close eye on our horses overnight. This place is wonderful and I rate it a 10/10! Thanks for making our trip great!". . . (10/24/10) - "My horse and I stayed at Interstate Stables last summer while on a trip from CA to a Chris Cox Clinic in CO. Marge and Larry are WONDERFUL! They went above and beyond excellent in caring for us. On the way home, I had to leave my mare with them overnight while I had repairs done on my truck AND trailer. The circumstances were stressful and they treated us like we were family. I look forward to my next trip East and staying at Interstate Stables. The Enke's are simply the best! Thank you, Marge and Larry!". . . (8/11/11) - "Very nice facility; well kept. Freindly hosts.". . . (6/20/12) - "Larry & Marge were really great--Larry kindly guided me there several times after I made wrong turns. I was braindead after a blowout on the horse trailer! Their facilities are top notch & both my mares & I were impressed with their certified grass hay-- I'd never even seen it before. Great place, nice folks--highly recommend. VERY convenient, too."
