Comments: (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(9/9/07) - "This is an outstanding horse motel. We haul the entire western United States and feel that this is a great layover. Good for the horses, convenient off the interstate, and good for the RV.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Extremely clean barn and stalls with large turnout area. Hostess was charming, friendly and helpful. Easy access from I-5. Easy trailer parking. All in all among the best.". . .(10/11/07) - "Bev is great, the stalls are lovely and safe and everything is spotless. I highly recommend the place!". . .(12/8/07) - "We arrived with two horses, 4 dogs, and a cat driving a 50 ft RV and trailer and an injured husband. Bev was awsome, helpful, educated, kind, and an awsome host. We will definitely go back. Thanks Bev!". . .(1/15/08) - "I cannot recommend this facility enough! Everyone at A&B made EXTRAORDINARY efforts to assist us when our truck and trailer were disabled after being hit by another vehicle in Mt. Shasta. Bev and her husband are amazing!. . . We were so happy when our horse arrived at A&B. He was turned out in a large paddock with safe fencing and sparkling clean water. The barn was absolutely immaculate, his stall was deeply bedded with new shavings, . . . My husband and I stayed in the bunk house which was wonderful and right in the barn. The bunk used to be a tack room and is complete with very comfortable cots, TV with DVDs to watch, snacks, and a barn-safe heater that kept us very warm and cozy. . . . Everything is absolutely spotless, including the bathroom, shower, and toilet. However, the most important quality of A&B is that their genuine concern for your welfare and the welfare of your horse. This concern is evident in the safety and cleanliness of their facility as well as the extra effort made to make your stay in Redding enjoyable. Bev answered every phone call I made . . . My husband and I were overwhelmed by the compassion shown to us by Bev and her husband. We are so grateful and we recommend this facility and their hauling services without reservation." . . .(1/25/08) - ". . . She answered her phone right away and gave us the proper directions and was standing out on the road when we were in sight. Very comforting for a first timer with 3 show horses and 2 kids on their first real 'show trip'. The turn out for the horses was fabulous. On the way home we stayed with her again and used the stalls.....gorgeous.....I could have slept in them, and I could have picked my color as well! All freshly painted and sanitized. She goes beyond and above with a smile and a hug.". . .(3/19/08) - "The cleanest facility we have ever stayed. Friendliness extradonaire. We will always try to arrange our journey south to be able to stay there.". . .(3/26/08) - "This facility is exceptionally clean and secure. I will plan to stay here again. They have a spotlessly clean bathroom with a delicious, hot shower.". . . (5/8/08) - "Great place to stay for people & horses. Loved it.". . . .(5/18/08) - "Seldom have I felt so secure in leaving my horse for several days...This is my 2nd stay with Bev and it won't be the last--what a relief to find such a nice person and safe facilities--a home away from home for sure!". . .(12/16/08) -"I have stayed at a lot of stables, this is the best. Bev went out of her way to make sure my stay was pleasent. She helped me with the road conditions, checking every half hour. If there was a rating for horse motels and the people that run them Bev is a FIVE STAR motel. Sincerely, Linda Long.". . . (9/20/09) - "A&B is first rate! We were hauling a former "rescue" horse to her new owner, and were concerned for her as it was her first time alone. The owner greeted us, and made sure she was taken care of.Thank You! She is now at her new home, happy, and safe!". . . (9/21/09) - "This is a fantastic place. I'm a woman, traveling alone, and Bev met me and catered to myself and my horse, making sure everything was just right. I stayed in the Bunkhouse, and visited with Bev until almost bedtime. I watched as many others came and unloaded their horses, and even though this was the first time I had ever been there, I felt like I was one of the gang. Every person and their horse was greeted at the gate by Bev, and served by her as long as they needed. It was actually fun, and I will stop by from now on just to say "hi" even if I am not in need of the facilities. Linda from Three Rivers, CA.". . . (11/28/09) - "I am making this a regular stop on my yearly migration from Oregon to California in the fall and back to OR in the spring. My 3 horses are safe and comfortable and the owners make you feel welcome and pampered. This helps make a fun trip out of what could otherwise be a tiring trip for both horses and humans. Thanks Bev.". . . (1/3/10) - "Will stay again.". . . (3/22/11) - "Bev was wonderful, was at the barn when we rolled in late, stalls were immaculate. We would definitely stay again!". . . (4/16/14) - "Made reservations to stop on the way down to the San Diego. Great place, clean and wonderful owner. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a stop."

(10/2/12) - "Had a wonderful stay here with my two horses. We came to Redding from the coast for equine dental work and stayed two nights. The horses each had a shady pen and loved the great water. Very friendly and helpful people and lots of loving animals. Highly recommend.". . . (10/22/12) - "3rd time here as I'm a snow bird. They treat me like family. See you in 6 months.". . . (10/22/12) - "We stopped overnight with our two horses and camped there as well. The horses were so comfortable in the large arena and were treated to a spotless water trough in addition to the pristine arena. Kate even cleaned out the trailer for us!! Great people, wonderful surroundings. We camped right next to the arena and were treated to an evening chorus of frogs from the nearby creek. Wonderful place, we'll be back.". . . (1/2/13) - "Very friendly place. Will definitely be back on my way north in the summer.". . . (3/12/13) - "Kate, we had a wonderful time! We will be using your lodgings again sometime. It's not just a lay-over but a great destination for riding trails in the Redding area! You guys are GREAT!!! Happy Horses and Happy People! ~ Lynn.". . . (8/14/13) - "Due to the horses time in travel that day, they were put into the arena, so they could run around and roll (we did not use the stalls). I would highly recommend this facility. The owner, her family and staff did everything to make our horse comfortable and safe. This was one of the best horse motels we stayed at on this trip.". . . (4/16/14) - "We showed up in the middle of the night with nowhere for our three horses to go unannounced. They were wonderful and found a spot for them even though they were already full for the night. I would stay there with a reservation in the future if I knew I would be in that area. Great place and very kind.". . . (4/16/14) - "Howdy, Kate. Thanks for having us last night. We slept great in their new people motel and the horses were relaxed, fed, and ready to go. And to wake up to the nice shade trees, green grass, and the birds singing - - was music to our ears. VERY RELAXING.... Thanks, again, and we will be seeing ya. JD with J Diamond D EquineXpress......Happy Trails!". . . (4/16/14) - "It's my 6 month trek back to Washington. I love this place. Been coming here for 4 years. They have a nice people motel here now complete with Dish Network and wifi for only $50. See ya in 6 months on my way back to Arizona.". . . (4/17/14) - "What an awesome, friendly couple. Ken even cleaned our trailer out for us!! We enjoyed the cozy room and waking up to the wonderful song birds, shade trees, and just an all around beautiful atmosphere. We will definitely be returning....Thanks, Kate, Ken, Correy, and Dave....You have a beautiful place.". . . (5/11/14) - "Great place to stay! Happy horses and people after our stay. We enjoyed the scenery, the hosts were friendly and accommodating. Friendly animals too!! We stayed in the person hotel, a nice place to hang our hats for the night after a days driving. If we are hauling through Redding in the future we will definitely be back. Thank you Kate and family!! :)". . . (5/15/4) - "Thanks for having everything ready for Gidget; she's very relaxed and comfortable when she stays there. I really appreciate the clean corral, clean water and clean feeder. Her "motel" the previous night was quite the opposite; corral wasn't very clean, water tub was filthy, and there was a dead squirrel in the feeder. Gidget just sniffed the water, snorted and walked away. I had to ask for a clean bucket for water. Needless to say, we won't be staying there again. And, Mark & I were very comfortable in your people motel. It made it much easier on me because I could take my time getting Gidget settled in at night and getting ready to leave in the morning. Other times I always had to rush because Mark was in a hurry to get to our motel. We will probably be heading back to San Diego in October, so we will see you then! Thanks again for everything.". . . (5/18/14) - "Great place to stay. Safe for our animals and us. Quiet and clean. Thanks Dave for cleaning out the horse trailer and tending to our every need. Thanks Kate! 2nd time back here.". . . (7/2/14) - "Happy Hooves suited our needs perfectly. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. Great location and it is right off the freeway. Highly recommend this place.". . . (7/27/14) - "Second time back for us. Love the "People Motel" The air conditioning was great in this hot weather. Horses got a bath and were turned out in the arena to run.". . . (7/27/14) - "We were turned down at another motel . . . . . We called Katie in a panic and she had room for our horses and our big family in her people motel. Highly recommend this place!". . . (8/11/14) - "Thank you so much; we had a great time and we are telling all our friends about Happy Hooves even if they don't have horses.". . . (8/28/14) - "We stayed over night in the new horse motel and it was wonderful. We had our trusty steeds just outside. Very nice, clean place to stay. Kate is wonderful, and her very nice hired hand is right there to take care of you. We will be back again! Count on it."

Comments: (2/27/10) - "Dale and Joanne Galbraith are real horsemen. They are genuine and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend them as a motel, source of lessons and I even purchased a horse from them and he was everything they said and more. VERY HONEST FOLKS !! A++". . . (3/4/14) - "I really enjoyed my stay at Dale and Joanne's Ranch. Coffee's on in the morning and it's safe and sound and I slept like a rock! The cottages are really cute, the one I got had two beds, a huge full bath, a huge closet with some of the goodies she sells for her tack shop! Cool shirts and chairs, etc. There is everything you need for sale at the tackshop, trailers for sale, even horses, AQHA or Paint. If you're in the market for anything, Joanne probably has it! The horse facility was perfect; a large pen each, lots of water and feeders. Great location off the freeway, huge arena and just everything you need including conversation and Joanne is a wealth of knowledge; you can learn more from her than you know :} Pattern horse racing, barrels, speed events, lessons or otherwise. If you're serious about improving go stay at the ranch for a couple of days. Sincerely, Kara Felix Lake Stevens, WA."

Comments: "These Folks where the nicest, down to earth people you'd ever want meet. They are so accommodating and go out of their way to help you with anything you need, NEVER making you feel you've inconvienced them in anyway. I'll always stop there in my travels to Southern California, they just make me think I'm a little closer to home.". . ."Greeted and assisted in unloading. Large clean safe pens, clean water, close sand arena available for turn out/exercise. Lighting adequate for dark early morning departure. Easy trailer access. Owner, Tim, very cordial.". . ."Tim Popplewell was very helpful and responsive to our emergency situation. He came with his trailer and picked up our horse and ourselves. He took care of our horse and took us to a motel. We were very happy with his facility and would recommend it to others.". . ."GREAT PENS - the gentleman met me, helped with the horses, let me turn out to exercise, etcetera! Super nice place. About 10 easy miles from great hotels, but well worth the distance to know your horses are happy!". . .(2/16/03) - " Tim was great!! We were hours late getting in, and got lost, but he was very understanding and helpful. He sent me pictures of his facility prior to my stay, and made arrangements for my stallion. Not much close by for people, but his website details what there is and where. We'll stay there again!". . .(8/11/04) - "We were moving two very green horses from Arizona to Northern California in the hottest part of summer and so were travelling by night. I left my young stallion and mare at this facility in the heat of the day while my friend and I went to get some sleep. We were exhuasted and not very pleasant when we arrived, and Tim helped us unload our frightened animals. He has a very calm and quiet way which was very impressive. When we came to load, his sons, Joe and Kevin, came out to help. Joe has the same quiet efficient way with horses as his Dad, and Kevin was a delight and very helpful. We were very impressed and, if they will have us, plan to use this facility whenever we are hauling between California and Arizona.". . .(11/3/04) - "Tim and Julie were absolutely wonderful! They met us upon arrival and were extremely helpful. My horses stayed for almost 2 weeks and were very well taken care of. Thank you!". . .(9/15/05) - "Our visit with Tim and Julie was wonderful. We made new friends and their family went way beyond the call of duty. Their children were wonderful helpers and their hospitality was overwhelming. Without question the place to stay with your horses when traveling. Thank again folks.". . .(10/28/05) - "My husband had to make this trip by himself (ENOUGH to worry me to begin with).....Was held up in picking up the horse we needed to deliver and was HOURS past expected arrival time ~~ Told me that Tim and Julie were GREAT!!!! even with an 11:00pm arrival time, they even offered to come and meet him and bring a trailer if it was needed AND my husband said the place was GREAT, CLEAN and we will ALWAYS stay here when a layover is needed in the future.". . .(4/30/06) - "We were very late coming in due to mechanical problems, we were sure sorry to wake them up. Facility very quiet, room for turn out and exercise.". . .(6/7/06) - "Facility owners were very nice, came right out when we pulled in and took care of my gelding. Their directions were easy to follow. We would definitely use their facility again.". . . (8/22/06) - "The whole family, including the kids, were very freindly & helpful with us and the horses. I felt very comfortable leaving my horses in their care. I would definitely call them again when we are passing through Bakersfield. Thanks again!!!". . .(10/9/06) - "Tim's daughter & son were very helpful upon our arrival. Thank you.". . .(2/25/08) - "We had no problems with anything. Our horses had safe, large outdoor paddocks and I camped in my camper nearby.". . . (12/23/08)- "Super folks. I would recommend this motel to anyone. Very nice down to earth people. The kids were so helpful and we were impressed to see kids like that still existed! The ranch took us in late with not a lot of notice. We definitely would stay there again. THANK YOU!". . . (10/17/09) - "I think it's now going on 4 years that we've used Sioux City horse motel. We travel back & forth from WA state to AZ twice a year. Each time I've been treated with friendliness from Tim & Julie & their kids, regardless the time of arrival. I feel very secure leaving my mare at their place. Their place is the best!! Thanks guys.". . . (8/28/14) - "Tim is very nice, and helpful. They live on the property which makes for good security. His place reminds you of a quirky little western town. We are snowbirds and haul horses back and forth each year. It hasn't worked out for us to stop there last year, but when it does, we will be calling him! He made us feel right at home, let us turn our horses out and had stalls all ready. One of our favorites."

Comments: (12/16/12) - "Nice safe stalls, great place to layover with horses!". . . (1/8/13) - "This is a nice safe and secure location for you and your horses. They have one 30 amp hookup that is a little difficult for a 40 foot LQ we had to get to, but, we did. The only "negative" is it rained fairly heavily that night and we had to use 4 wheel drive to back our rig out of the hookup location, very muddy at that spot.". . . (12/6/13) - "Great stay. RV hook ups as stated. We were greeted and helped with our horses on arrival. Clean facilities. Would stay here again if in the area. Thanks for everything.". . . (3/12/14) - "This is a fantastic place to overnight! The folks here take a lot of pride in their place. The stalls are always clean and with good fresh water. Even when showing up late at night and early in the A.M. They always make sure someone is available upon arrival. Everyone is very accommodating, kind, and helpful. The gates are locked up at night, so I never had to worry about anything getting stolen or destroyed. Triple C is also a great place to board your horse. I was transferred to a different state for work and had to leave my horse in California for the time being. I decided to leave him at Triple C since I had had been so impressed with them after overnighting there. I ended up having to leave my horse there for a year before I could go get him. They took absolutely fantastic care of him. He was fat and happy when I went to pick him up. Thanks again to all of you at Triple C for the great experience and for taking care of my boy while I was away!"

Comments: (2/25/08) - "We came for one night and liked it so much that we abandoned our original destination and stayed 2 months. There are miles and miles of sandy desert roads. This is a driving horse paradise with wonderful, safe facilities for short or long-term stay.". . .(2/25/08) - "This was the most welcoming peaceful horse facility I stayed at during my entire trip. The ranch is in a beautiful setting; one where you can literally take your horse out of the stall, mount up and ride on miles and miles of desert trails. The owner of the property was welcoming and helpful and made me feel right at home. I would recommend this place very highly. The ranch is clean, well maintained and safe.". . . (5/16/09) - "I had an excellent stay on my way to a carriage show in Arizona. I was able to drive my horse on the farm roads as well. Very friendly place....they gave me a ride into town so that I didn't have to unhitch and picked me up in the morning from my motel.". . . (7/12/09) - "Through no fault of the owner, her phone was not working when we tried and tried to call. We decided to take the chance and, stop in. There was plenty of room for truck and trailer, nice mare motels set up, all with auto waterers. A great price and close to motels and other needs.". . . (11/2/09) - "Wonderful place to stay! The owner is very friendly and will make you feel right at home. This facility is very clean, safe, and easily accessible from I-10. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone I know.". . . (12/6/09) - "Safe stalls, very calm location, yet not far from freeway. Very pleased with facility and will certainly use it again.". . . (9/15/10) - "Treated us very well for a late afternoon arrival and three-hour later leaving. Price was very fair. Sheltered pens were just what our horses needed from the hot desert sun. Restaurant they recommended was really good and had great selection and very good prices.". . . (4/15/12) - "Excellent facility! Like-new mare motels with awesome footing, easy big rig parking, kind and attentive owner and foreman, close to food/hotels/highway. Thank you!". . . (12/31/12) - "GPS couldn't find the facility, but Pat met us at the Valero station just off I-10. This was the most expensive place we stayed in our entire trip but this was California.". . . (1/8/13) - "Pat is the best host ever! She met us at the Valero Gas station on Christmas Eve.". . . (12/24/12) and led us in. (We could have found it, it is well marked). Excellent facilties, full hookups, easy on and off freeway. Great Host. We had a stallion and two mares, plenty of room for all."

Comments: (5/22/05) - "We did a 24 hr. layover to allow our horse to rest. We camped at the ranch in our truck and trailer. Everything was very nice and we felt very good about our horse's safety and security. We would stay there again.". . .(2/25/08) - "We always stop here when we are traveling through the Sacramento area. This is a very safe, clean facility for travelers and their horses. We camp in our RV in close proximity to our horses.". . .(3/26/08) - "Wonderful, friendly people and a very clean, safe facility for our horses. This was our third time to stay at Shandoni.". . . (9/24/09) - "Not a fancy facility, but very clean, safe and quiet. Our horses had large pipe paddocks that were very safe. I felt very comfortable leaving them when we went back to the motel. The owner is a solid horseman and all his horses were impeccably cared for, a good sign. He was very accommodating. Our Pony Club friends in the area recommended Shandoni highly. We will stay at Shandoni again!". . . (11/28/09) - "Doreen and Jay are wonderful people who make your stay at their ranch very pleasant. Ask Doreen to show you some of her wonderful paintings. I now have two of her prints in my home. Once I was lucky enough to be there on the weekend when Doreen had her exhibit and sale in the barn. Also, be sure to try the breakfast burritos at the little store just up the road."

Comments: (0/20/03) - "I recently made a horse trade that required driving and meeting the other person at a halfway point. We called late in the afternoon and were able to make arrangements for that evening, even though we arrived several hours apart. Our host was wonderful, making sure we had everything for both horses, including a selection of hay, a place to clean up an injured horse, and suggestions on where to stay. We were out there 'til after midnight, and pulled out at 6 in the morning. I would definitely stay there again! Only drawback.. it was a little difficult to find late at night, and the hotel was not as close as I would have liked, but closer than some. A+!!". . . (1/21/04) - "First Class Accommodations. Easy to find off 99, large stalls, abundant shavings, round pen, two arenas, friendly, helpful hosts and within 2 miles of food and lodging. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.". . .(9/3/04) - "Wonderful people with a beautiful boarding facility. I am sorry that we will be leaving! Thankyou.". . .(1/5/07) - "The accommodations were excellent as well as the service. Thanks again for everything.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Easy access from CA 99. Large clean turn out areas for trailered horses to stretch their legs. Stall new, secure with rubber mats and fresh shavings. Auto waterers in each stall. Hostess was friendly, charming and helpful. We stayed on site in our truck camper with electricity provided. All in all one of the best stables we have stayed at. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation, too.". . .(2/24/08) - "They communicate well when contacted about staying overnight. The stalls are large and always clean. Feel very welcome there and they are so flexible on arrival and departure times so we can stay on our schedule. Great place!". . . (3/10/10) - "Awesome host and facilities! My daughters and I have stayed at Silverglen two times and both stays were exceptional. Clean, safe and friendly. Would highly recommend to all travelers!". . . (6/24/12) - "We have overnighted here 3 times in the last 2 years. It's been great every time!". . . (6/27/12) - "In May 2012, we were on our way back from AZ and had reservations to stay in Tehachapi. However, the wind was blowing so hard, we decided to drive on. We called to inquire availability. Our stay was great. Clean, safe facility, shavings in the stall, shade to enjoy while watching my horse. We stayed in our LQ-horse trailer and enjoyed a great shower before heading to town to enjoy dinner at recommended restaurant. All in all, a great stay, would stay again and have told friends about it.". . . (1/29/14) - "Top-Notch facility. Nice and clean and well organized. Magnificent covered arena. Through an electronic snafu, the hostess did not receive my email and phone message till the morning after our arrival but because of the website info and her initial email communications with me, installing my horse at 10:30pm without anyone from the ranch being present was a snap. Human lodging and food was about 5 miles away. You will not be disappointed in this facility. Very nice feel to it and peaceful.

Comments: (9/12/05) - "My wife and I enjoyed meeting Rusty and Linda Bates. They are very personable and made us feel extremely welcome. We arrived late at night and both of them were waiting for us on the road with flashlights to guide us to the barn. The facilities are first class with a barn and large corrals for the horses.". . . (9/28/05) - "Our stay was a welcome relief for both driver and horses. Pristine facilities for the pickiest of horse owners. I highly recommend as a stopover or even a visit. I hear there's some good riding close by.". . . (9/29/05) - "Absolutely pristine location right off the 395. Exceptionally friendly and well maintained. Highly recommended.". . .(6/4/07) - "Rusty and Linda are wonderful hosts. Don't hesitate to stay in the RV they have onsite. It's very well stocked and comfortable.". . .(8/20/07) - "The stalls/pens were very sturdy and safe. The hosts were most accommodating. We'd drive out of our way to stay there again!!"... (7/30/10) - "Facility is clean, safe and spacious. Rusty & Linda are terrific hosts and made us, our horses and greyhounds feel very welcome. We stayed twice in their RV and it was comfortable, well-stocked and close to our horses. The hay and water were fresh and our horses got to kick up their heels and roll in a huge arena. They directed us to a great Mexican restaurant in town and we truly enjoyed our brief stay there. We would recommend them unequivocally!". . . (4/26/12) - "What a 'knock your socks off' place to overnight, which we did, or go back to stay a bit. Right in the shadow of amazing mountains, silent, and welcoming. Linda & Rusty were amazingly friendly, took care of us from the first moment of contact until we left, the facilities are spotless and welcoming, the little RV is cozy, and my horse even loved their hay! Can only give them the highest marks, and when I had to leave, sure didn't want to. It's a beautiful place, and worth a stop.". . . (6/12/12) - "We have stayed with Rusty & Linda several times and we are always made to feel welcome. Great horse facilities with room to run around plus lots of shade in the hot summer and fresh water and hay. Even our dogs love it! The RV is small but perfect for a couple. Don't hesitate to stay here."

Comments: (6/11/12) - "I am very pleased with the stalls and care level offered at Windsong Ranch. The horses were all healthy and content. The atmosphere is very relaxing with lower desert beauty right outside the campsite. Melody and her family make you feel right at home. The ranch has someone on premesis almost 24/7 and they are attentive to your horse. For those not traveling with living quarters the lodgings are a bit further away but very good. Overall this is a great experience that I would recommend for your horse. If at all possible try to get out there during the Poppy bloom season. Just georgeous.". . . (6/12/12) - "I have stopped at Windsong with my horses several times and have always been thrilled with the service, cleanliness and convenient location. Whenever I am traveling through that area, she's a reliable stop to rest ourselves and our horses. There's also some pretty awsome riding!". . . (6/6/13) - "Melody is awesome! We've stayed here multiple times and always felt very welcome. She is willing to accommodate date changes and short notice which is super helpful. My horse loves it here and that's most important! The paddocks are huge and the facility is clean. We'll definitely stay here anytime we're in the area."

The hosts were very accessible and helped talk me into the facility even with the late evening arrival. Thank you so much for a safe comfortable haven during the start of my cross country trip.". . . Comments: (3/4/14) - "Amazing! I can't say enough good things about Larry and Donette and their staff, their facility and hospitality. If you're anywhere near the Stockton area this is the place to stay hands down. They went out of their way to be of assistance and are truly great people. My horses were extremely well kept while I stayed off site in town. I didn't have to worry or wonder. Donette is quite skilled in English and Western riding and a beautiful person inside and out. I highly recommend staying at their facility if you're on the road or just want to go take lessons. They have much to offer the horse community and do so everyday. Sincerely, Kara Felix Lake Stevens, WA.". . . (5/3/14) - "Thank you for a great overnight for my horse. He really enjoyed the 1/5 acre pasture. Thank you for providing a safe overnight.". . . (7/20/14) - "Date stayed: July 2014. Excellent place to overnight. We were in the middle of a trip between states and D'Alonzo was wonderful. We did not get in until after midnight. There was a breezeway and stall lights. The stall light to our particular stall was on, leading us to the right stall to place our horse in. There were fresh shavings, fresh water in the auto waterer and a nice comfortable barn. Plenty of room to pull in and turn around. Very easy to find and only 3 miles off the 5 Fwy. Reasonable rates ($30.00 per horse) and a choice between a 1/5 acre pasture or barnstall. The next morning we were greeted by some folks who had already cleaned our stall out fresh and the owner came out to check on us before we left. Very nice folks and a great place to stopover. Thanks D'Alonzo!!"

Comments: (1/2/09) - "To those of you looking for a place to overnight, this lady and her "hand" are amazing. Her home is directly connected to the barn where she can oversee everything yet leaves you the privacy if you wish to retreat to your rig. I checked medium on the food and lodging because it is simply not in the area. Close to highway, great directions. and just an overall great experience on our over 6,000 mile trip from WA to TX and back home. Thank You Wolfe Haven Farms!". . . (4/1/09) - "We give this place a 6 star rating. When we got there a light was on, a large paddock was available with water and feed already in place and pavement which was not availabe in Mojave or Barstow. GREAT HOSTS!!! A little off the highway but well worth the drive.". . . (4/6/09) - "Lynn was WONDERFUL and her hand, Troy was GREAT! Very personable people. She has everything from stalls outside with shelters, to stalls in the very nicely built and well insulated MD Barn, and a huge pasture up front. The property is very well laid out with ample room to turn your trailer around. Wolfe Haven is also a short drive (10 mins) to town which has 2 major grocery stores and a Kmart. . . . . Lynn put me, my husband and son up in the guest quarters and even cooked us dinner and was willing to make breakfast! She even had a place for our 2 Great Danes. Her dogs, Thor and Jake, get along with anything and anyone. I will definitely be staying with her again. I give Wolfe Haven 4 hooves up...and a couple paws, too!". . . (7/27/09) - "We had a last minute call...the same day. They responded promptly. Facility was extremely clean, the waterers sparkled. We pulled a large 52' trailer in and were able to park. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone.". . . (9/20/09) - "Pulled in after dark. Facility very clean and people very friendly. Had dinner waiting for us. Food was fabulous. Very big and very clean stall for overnight boarding. Stayed on site in spare bedroom inside barn. Very comfy and very clean. Would definitely recommend for overnight stay or if you are looking for a place to board your horse for an extended period.". . . 11/10/10 - "Due to mechanical problems of our RV, we arrived very late at Wolfe Haven. Lynne was waiting for us and she was very warm and inviting, which was appreciated after a long and difficult drive. The stalls were clean and hay was waiting for our horses. In the morning Lynne offered us breakfast and hot coffee. We took her offer of coffee, but were anxious to get on the road, so declined breakfast. The ranch is just beautiful, with breathtaking views. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the facilities and gotten to know Lynne better. She is a delightful woman. I would highly recommend Wolfe Haven.". . . (12/1/10) - "Most enjoyable stay. Arrived much later than planned (2am). I was greeted with a warm welcome and as much help as I required. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and great company. I would reccomend this facility to everyone traveling through the area.". . . (12/2/10) - "The horses did not have stalls because of other boarders, however there were two very nice pasture areas for them and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. One of my 10 had injured himself and she made arrangements for the vet to be there upon our arrival. The entire stay was very very pleasant and our host was warm and inviting, making our stay one that will be a very fond memory for myself, my crew and all my animals! I even had 5 large dogs and 6 cats..........all accomodated very nicely by this owner. All in all I would rate her very high in whatever animal care you need, be it horse, dog, cat, or human! I was so impressed that since my final destination is here in California I hope to stay in contact with this owner and hope we become good friends! In closing, I would highly recommend this horse, dog, cat, human hotel!". . . (1/18/11) - "This was a delightful overnight stay. Owner offered dinner and breakfast! Way above our expectations. Everything was clean and roomy. Beautiful location and facility.". . . (2/7/11) - "A 1st class stable and host. Great meals and bedroom provided. The best. Reserve early.". . . (4/30/11) - "Lynn was a wonderful hostess. She met us at the gate and provided meals and lodging for us and a clean, sheltered paddock for our horses. We had a flat tire during our travel and she was able to recommend a tire store that provided excellent customer service. Thank you Lynn!". . . (9/26/11) - "Wolfe Haven exceeded our expectations in every way; more than a stop-over, Lynn Wolfe's beautiful farm proved to be a gorgeous destination unto itself. Tucked into the rolling hills at the edge of the stunning Cummings Valley near Tehachapi, this place truly lives up to its name as a haven of peace for road-weary travelers: equine, human, and canine, too. Lynn's warm hospitality and immaculate facilities were the best welcome to California we could have imagined. Thank you, Lynn!". . . (12/29/11) - "Hostess was very accommodating to an impromptu late evening request...very clean, spacious, good directions and even met us on the road with a flashlight! Peaceful, we would go back anytime.". . . (5/21/12) - "Definitely have to agree with all comments made by other travelers!! Our stay 4/27/12 was great, even though the weather was not. A grass pasture turn-out for Rio, a great Italian dinner with wine and a place to park our rig made for a comfortable night's stay. We had planned to stay on our return 5/15, but we were anxious to arrive back home in N.Calif. However, if we're traveling that way again, you can believe we'll stay with Lynn, and I'm sharing this piece of horse heaven with all horse traveling friends.". . . (7/1/12) - "This is a delightful place to stay for my horse, my dog, myself and my husband who is not into horses. It was clean, views were awesome and Lynn was friendly and interesting. She cared for my horse and fed me dinner and breakfast which were both delicious . I wandered around the property, enjoying the space and rolling hills on this 20 acres ranch. It is a bit off the highway but easily worth it!". . . (12/16/12) - "Lovely pens for horses and mules, large pasture safe to allow your horse a run before putting up in the ample stalls for the night. AND no noise from trains!"

Comments: (2/10/14) - "Great place.". . . (5/13/14) - "Great place to stay! Nice big clean stalls with waterers. Very clean facility. Lots of room for large rigs, they were very accommodating with our late arrival. Right off the interstate and easy to find.". . . (8/28/14) - "I'm not exactly positive that someone is monitoring during the night, (I mean who really has a night watch person?) but we feel all the facilities are secure, clean and safe. We are snowbirds bringing horses back and forth each year. This is one of our favorites and Dawn is always reachable by cell. We call prior to arrival and she or someone just as capable is there to help. She makes us feel right at home, allows us to turn out our horses to roll and stretch in the arena before bedding them down. (In another place, the fairgrounds, we actually were told we couldn't let our horses roll in the arena after being in the trailer for 10 hours!) We love that Dawn always has plenty of clean shavings and water. She has let us park our Motorhome there (for overnight) but motels are close by."
