Comments: (Editor's Comments: Due to the large amount of feedback we have received on this facility, all of it positive, we've posted only the more recent comments. We thank everybody who has sent in so many nice comments.)
(9/9/07) - "This is an outstanding horse motel. We haul the entire western United States and feel that this is a great layover. Good for the horses, convenient off the interstate, and good for the RV.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Extremely clean barn and stalls with large turnout area. Hostess was charming, friendly and helpful. Easy access from I-5. Easy trailer parking. All in all among the best.". . .(10/11/07) - "Bev is great, the stalls are lovely and safe and everything is spotless. I highly recommend the place!". . .(12/8/07) - "We arrived with two horses, 4 dogs, and a cat driving a 50 ft RV and trailer and an injured husband. Bev was awsome, helpful, educated, kind, and an awsome host. We will definitely go back. Thanks Bev!". . .(1/15/08) - "I cannot recommend this facility enough! Everyone at A&B made EXTRAORDINARY efforts to assist us when our truck and trailer were disabled after being hit by another vehicle in Mt. Shasta. Bev and her husband are amazing!. . . We were so happy when our horse arrived at A&B. He was turned out in a large paddock with safe fencing and sparkling clean water. The barn was absolutely immaculate, his stall was deeply bedded with new shavings, . . . My husband and I stayed in the bunk house which was wonderful and right in the barn. The bunk used to be a tack room and is complete with very comfortable cots, TV with DVDs to watch, snacks, and a barn-safe heater that kept us very warm and cozy. . . . Everything is absolutely spotless, including the bathroom, shower, and toilet. However, the most important quality of A&B is that their genuine concern for your welfare and the welfare of your horse. This concern is evident in the safety and cleanliness of their facility as well as the extra effort made to make your stay in Redding enjoyable. Bev answered every phone call I made . . . My husband and I were overwhelmed by the compassion shown to us by Bev and her husband. We are so grateful and we recommend this facility and their hauling services without reservation." . . .(1/25/08) - ". . . She answered her phone right away and gave us the proper directions and was standing out on the road when we were in sight. Very comforting for a first timer with 3 show horses and 2 kids on their first real 'show trip'. The turn out for the horses was fabulous. On the way home we stayed with her again and used the stalls.....gorgeous.....I could have slept in them, and I could have picked my color as well! All freshly painted and sanitized. She goes beyond and above with a smile and a hug.". . .(3/19/08) - "The cleanest facility we have ever stayed. Friendliness extradonaire. We will always try to arrange our journey south to be able to stay there.". . .(3/26/08) - "This facility is exceptionally clean and secure. I will plan to stay here again. They have a spotlessly clean bathroom with a delicious, hot shower.". . . (5/8/08) - "Great place to stay for people & horses. Loved it.". . . .(5/18/08) - "Seldom have I felt so secure in leaving my horse for several days...This is my 2nd stay with Bev and it won't be the last--what a relief to find such a nice person and safe facilities--a home away from home for sure!". . .(12/16/08) -"I have stayed at a lot of stables, this is the best. Bev went out of her way to make sure my stay was pleasent. She helped me with the road conditions, checking every half hour. If there was a rating for horse motels and the people that run them Bev is a FIVE STAR motel. Sincerely, Linda Long.". . . (9/20/09) - "A&B is first rate! We were hauling a former "rescue" horse to her new owner, and were concerned for her as it was her first time alone. The owner greeted us, and made sure she was taken care of.Thank You! She is now at her new home, happy, and safe!". . . (9/21/09) - "This is a fantastic place. I'm a woman, traveling alone, and Bev met me and catered to myself and my horse, making sure everything was just right. I stayed in the Bunkhouse, and visited with Bev until almost bedtime. I watched as many others came and unloaded their horses, and even though this was the first time I had ever been there, I felt like I was one of the gang. Every person and their horse was greeted at the gate by Bev, and served by her as long as they needed. It was actually fun, and I will stop by from now on just to say "hi" even if I am not in need of the facilities. Linda from Three Rivers, CA.". . . (11/28/09) - "I am making this a regular stop on my yearly migration from Oregon to California in the fall and back to OR in the spring. My 3 horses are safe and comfortable and the owners make you feel welcome and pampered. This helps make a fun trip out of what could otherwise be a tiring trip for both horses and humans. Thanks Bev.". . . (1/3/10) - "Will stay again.". . . (3/22/11) - "Bev was wonderful, was at the barn when we rolled in late, stalls were immaculate. We would definitely stay again!"

(6/16/10) - "Kate was very accommodating and very helpful with our late night arrival. She was also responsive to telephone calls. Kate was very concerned with the comfort of our animal and we would stay with her again.". . . (7/20/10) - "Thanks Kate! This place was worth the travel.". . . (9/6/10) - "Everything was clean and safe and my horses were constantly moitored and cared for. I felt like all my needs for my horses were a priority and was made to feel very welcome. Thank you, Kate for a pleasant stay. If I am up that way, I will be sending my horses back with all cofidence.". . . (10/4/10) - "Easy to find spot! Mary's Pizza Shack is a funny name for a wonderful Italian Restaurant!! Yummy place to eat. Just across the parking lot was the movie theater where we saw Secretariat. All just 5 miles from the ranch. Enjoyed our stay in the trailer, nice and easy to find everything. Sue S.". . . (11/20/10) - "As I drove along Hwy. 5 and passed Redding, CA, Kate Loomis guided me via cell phone directly to her property and Loomis Horse Motel. Greeted with a hug for me and a safe, large outdoor arena (my choice over stall), our stay went from 1 day to 3 days. Feed and facilities were spotless, well maintained and all fencing was very horse safe. Cory, Kate's daughter, guided me on a wonderful afternoon trail ride out into the foothills, and the entire family made sure that my horse and I were well cared for each day. I highly encourage anyone traveling I-5 to schedule a stop at Loomis Horse Motel.". . . (1/11/11) - "Traveling from Veneta, or to Porterville, CA my daughter and I stopped by here after 8 hours of driving. My 2 horses were put in the lighted arena with plenty of room to move around after the long trip. We were treated like part of the family, it was awesome! We loved the comfy trailer, slept like a baby and had coffee in the morning. Went out to find my horse trailer had been cleaned out! WOW! Thank you, thank you. Played with horses a little. They were not concerned at all about being at a new place. Loaded up and off we go. Coming back thru in March or April to stay again. I would recommend Kate's Loomis Ranch to all my horsey friends. Thanks again, Edyie & Bria Carter.". . . (1/11/11) - "Going to and back from Endurance ride near Death Valley. Stayed at Loomis Ranch both times. We showed up on Christmas day, spent the night in the trailer. Kate has been awesome as well as her daughter Corey. Horses were well cared for. We put them in the arena on New Years Eve. During the night it snowed so Kate went out and moved them into nice warm stalls. Thanks you so much! Trailer was great with hot showers, almost like coming home.". . . (4/3/11) - "Frantic call to Kate with one of my horses distressed with colic. She got me in to her vet immediately. Her place was ready for my 2 cats, 2 dogs nicely bedded down in her kennels, and gave us the arena so the horses could move around. Her well water is the best and my coliced horse drank as soon as he got in the arena. Kate was very concerned about the well being of my animals. What could have been a tragedy ended up being a peaceful evening with all sleeping well and comfortable. It was so nice to stay in her trailer and be close to check on the horses every few hours. Would use her place again and recommend it for anyone traveling I-5 through Anderson. She even cleaned out my trailer too.". . . (7/26/11) - "We arrived here at 1:00 am from the Mini Horse Regional Show in Nevada. It was the first night we were actually able to relax on our way home to Oregon. We slept in until 11:00 and it was a very cozy trailer. Our mini horse colt enjoyed his stall and it was fun to watch him see the cows and sheep for the first time while running around the arena. We stayed until 3:30 and really enjoyed your ranch and our time here. Thanks so much for the fun time. Janelle & Kris.". . . (9/15/11) - "Hi Kate. Thanks for hosting Diva and me. We enjoyed your place and the movie. Thank Corey for cooking the quesadilla for me. The ride was fun, too.". . . (10/10/11) - "Thanks for letting us stay and see your ranch.". . . (10/13/11) - "Hi Kate, I'm home and wanted to thank you again for your hospitality and opening up that 5th wheel for me (and the dog) to sleep in.". . . (11/7/11) - "The Loomis' really were a lifesaver for us during our trip. We arrived very late Saturday night with a cranky, sore horse and a very broken truck. When I finally got my horse there a nice stall was waiting for him with water and feed, which he was very happy to see. The next day Cliff Loomis worked his magic and got our truck fixed up and road ready that day, which happened to be a Sunday, truly amazing. All during our stay Kate was watching out for my horse as he streched his very sore legs in their nice arena. He was well cared for and happy enough to get in the trailer without a fuss on Monday morning. We truly appreciate everything the Loomis' did for us, they definitely go above and beyond for their boarders. I would recommend anyone going through the area to stop at their place and rest assured you will be taken care of! Thank you again for everything! You guys are wonderful!"

Comments: (2/25/08) - "We came for one night and liked it so much that we abandoned our original destination and stayed 2 months. There are miles and miles of sandy desert roads. This is a driving horse paradise with wonderful, safe facilities for short or long-term stay.". . .(2/25/08) - "This was the most welcoming peaceful horse facility I stayed at during my entire trip. The ranch is in a beautiful setting; one where you can literally take your horse out of the stall, mount up and ride on miles and miles of desert trails. The owner of the property was welcoming and helpful and made me feel right at home. I would recommend this place very highly. The ranch is clean, well maintained and safe.". . . (5/16/09) - "I had an excellent stay on my way to a carriage show in Arizona. I was able to drive my horse on the farm roads as well. Very friendly place....they gave me a ride into town so that I didn't have to unhitch and picked me up in the morning from my motel.". . . (7/12/09) - "Through no fault of the owner, her phone was not working when we tried and tried to call. We decided to take the chance and, stop in. There was plenty of room for truck and trailer, nice mare motels set up, all with auto waterers. A great price and close to motels and other needs.". . . (11/2/09) - "Wonderful place to stay! The owner is very friendly and will make you feel right at home. This facility is very clean, safe, and easily accessible from I-10. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone I know.". . . (12/6/09) - "Safe stalls, very calm location, yet not far from freeway. Very pleased with facility and will certainly use it again.". . . (9/15/10) - "Treated us very well for a late afternoon arrival and three-hour later leaving. Price was very fair. Sheltered pens were just what our horses needed from the hot desert sun. Restaurant they recommended was really good and had great selection and very good prices."

James was very helpful in getting my mare set up safe and sound and there was adequate shade and room for her. Comments: (12/11/10) - "I am traveling with my horses all over the country for different horse events, and I have used quite a lot of horse motels and overnights in the past few years. Camarillo Spring Ranch is a beautiful place to stay a few days, not only to overnight. Jody and her husband are very nice people and are always there to help. We had some problems with our trailer and a new horse not so willing to cooperate on getting off the trailer Jody and her husband were there to help and not only that , they waited for us the next day to assist with the trailer problem if necessary, altho we told them not to bother ( as it happens - it was necessary!). The facility is super clean and beautiful, very close to hotels, motels and restaurants. Very secure for your horse, quiet, beautiful, and horse and rider friendly. There is a very nice dog park right at the entrance, so your canine companion will be in dog heaven as well. You can let him off leash to run awhile while you can sit on a bench and admire your surroundings- there is even place to grill- just so you know, if you want to have bite a before going to your motel. Do not hesitate to mark this place as your overnight location - and stay a while."

Comments: (2/28/05) - "Very nice place to stop. Lisa is very accommodating, and very friendly. My horse, dog and I enjoyed out visit.". . .(12/21/06) - "Lisa was fantastic! Her stalls are the biggest I've seen. Her backyard/drive area was tight with my 8-horse gooseneck, but it did fit. She took great care of the horses and went far beyond my expectations (filled hay bags, cleaned trailer!). I would definitely stay here again. My trailer broke down as I tried leaving and had to stay an extra day- it was no problem. Thanks Lisa!". . .(12/23/07) - "Fantastic place to stop over. I was so happy with the service and Lisa was so helpful. She stayed up late to receive us and stood at the end of the street to help us find her in the dark. I can't say enough about the great service we were given."

Comments: (5/22/05) - "We did a 24 hr. layover to allow our horse to rest. We camped at the ranch in our truck and trailer. We would stay there again.". . .(2/25/08) - "We always stop here when we are traveling through the Sacramento area. This is a very safe, clean facility for travelers and their horses. We camp in our RV in close proximity to our horses.". . .(3/26/08) - "Wonderful, friendly people and a very clean, safe facility for our horses. This was our third time to stay at Shandoni.". . . (9/24/09) - "Not a fancy facility, but very clean, safe and quiet. Our horses had large pipe paddocks that were very safe. I felt very comfortable leaving them when we went back to the motel. The owner is a solid horseman and all his horses were impeccably cared for, a good sign. He was very accommodating. Our Pony Club friends in the area recommended Shandoni highly. We will stay at Shandoni again!". . . (11/28/09) - "Doreen and Jay are wonderful people who make your stay at their ranch very pleasant. Ask Doreen to show you some of her wonderful paintings. I now have two of her prints in my home. Once I was lucky enough to be there on the weekend when Doreen had her exhibit and sale in the barn. Also, be sure to try the breakfast burritos at the little store just up the road."

Comments: (0/20/03) - "I recently made a horse trade that required driving and meeting the other person at a halfway point. We called late in the afternoon and were able to make arrangements for that evening, even though we arrived several hours apart. Our host was wonderful, making sure we had everything for both horses, including a selection of hay, a place to clean up an injured horse, and suggestions on where to stay. We were out there 'til after midnight, and pulled out at 6 in the morning. I would definitely stay there again! Only drawback.. it was a little difficult to find late at night, and the hotel was not as close as I would have liked, but closer than some. A+!!". . . (1/21/04) - "First Class Accommodations. Easy to find off 99, large stalls, abundant shavings, round pen, two arenas, friendly, helpful hosts and within 2 miles of food and lodging. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.". . .(9/3/04) - "Wonderful people with a beautiful boarding facility. I am sorry that we will be leaving! Thankyou.". . .(1/5/07) - "The accommodations were excellent as well as the service. Thanks again for everything.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Easy access from CA 99. Large clean turn out areas for trailered horses to stretch their legs. Stall new, secure with rubber mats and fresh shavings. Auto waterers in each stall. Hostess was friendly, charming and helpful. We stayed on site in our truck camper with electricity provided. All in all one of the best stables we have stayed at. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation, too.". . .(2/24/08) - "They communicate well when contacted about staying overnight. The stalls are large and always clean. Feel very welcome there and they are so flexible on arrival and departure times so we can stay on our schedule. Great place!". . . (3/10/10) - "Awesome host and facilities! (7/30/10) - "Facility is clean, safe and spacious. Rusty & Linda are terrific hosts and made us, our horses and greyhounds feel very welcome. We stayed twice in their RV and it was comfortable, well-stocked and close to our horses. The hay and water were fresh and our horses got to kick up their heels and roll in a huge arena. They directed us to a great Mexican restaurant in town and we truly enjoyed our brief stay there. We would recommend them unequivocally!"

Comments: (9/13/11) - "This is an owner/operator, hands on facility that truely gives your horse individual care and does not make you, the horse owner, feel like the money is more important to them than your horse. When you need to contact them you can right away. If they are not available you can watch the clock and count the "minutes" until they do return your call. My mare has injury issues & at times, when you least except it, "DEMANDS" your full attention whether it is convienent for you or not....and each and every time Barbi(owner/operator) gives my horse what she needs/wants. My overall satisfaction rating with my horse's stay is - "EXCELLENT!!"

Comments: (1/2/09) - "To those of you looking for a place to overnight, this lady and her "hand" are amazing. Her home is directly connected to the barn where she can oversee everything yet leaves you the privacy if you wish to retreat to your rig. I checked medium on the food and lodging because it is simply not in the area. Close to highway, great directions. and just an overall great experience on our over 6,000 mile trip from WA to TX and back home. Thank You Wolfe Haven Farms!". . . (4/1/09) - "We give this place a 6 star rating. When we got there a light was on, a large paddock was available with water and feed already in place and pavement which was not availabe in Mojave or Barstow. GREAT HOSTS!!! A little off the highway but well worth the drive.". . . (4/6/09) - "Lynn was WONDERFUL and her hand, Troy was GREAT! Very personable people. She has everything from stalls outside with shelters, to stalls in the very nicely built and well insulated MD Barn, and a huge pasture up front. The property is very well laid out with ample room to turn your trailer around. Wolfe Haven is also a short drive (10 mins) to town which has 2 major grocery stores and a Kmart. . . . . Lynn put me, my husband and son up in the guest quarters and even cooked us dinner and was willing to make breakfast! She even had a place for our 2 Great Danes. Her dogs, Thor and Jake, get along with anything and anyone. I will definitely be staying with her again. I give Wolfe Haven 4 hooves up...and a couple paws, too!". . . (7/27/09) - "We had a last minute call...the same day. They responded promptly. Facility was extremely clean, the waterers sparkled. We pulled a large 52' trailer in and were able to park. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone.". . . (9/20/09) - "Pulled in after dark. Facility very clean and people very friendly. Had dinner waiting for us. Food was fabulous. Very big and very clean stall for overnight boarding. Stayed on site in spare bedroom inside barn. Very comfy and very clean. Would definitely recommend for overnight stay or if you are looking for a place to board your horse for an extended period.". . . 11/10/10 - "Due to mechanical problems of our RV, we arrived very late at Wolfe Haven. Lynne was waiting for us and she was very warm and inviting, which was appreciated after a long and difficult drive. The stalls were clean and hay was waiting for our horses. In the morning Lynne offered us breakfast and hot coffee. We took her offer of coffee, but were anxious to get on the road, so declined breakfast. The ranch is just beautiful, with breathtaking views. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the facilities and gotten to know Lynne better. She is a delightful woman. I would highly recommend Wolfe Haven.". . . (12/1/10) - "Most enjoyable stay. Arrived much later than planned (2am). I was greeted with a warm welcome and as much help as I required. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and great company. I would reccomend this facility to everyone traveling through the area.". . . (12/2/10) - "The horses did not have stalls because of other boarders, however there were two very nice pasture areas for them and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. One of my 10 had injured himself and she made arrangements for the vet to be there upon our arrival. The entire stay was very very pleasant and our host was warm and inviting, making our stay one that will be a very fond memory for myself, my crew and all my animals! I even had 5 large dogs and 6 cats..........all accomodated very nicely by this owner. All in all I would rate her very high in whatever animal care you need, be it horse, dog, cat, or human! I was so impressed that since my final destination is here in California I hope to stay in contact with this owner and hope we become good friends! In closing, I would highly recommend this horse, dog, cat, human hotel!". . . (1/18/11) - "This was a delightful overnight stay. Owner offered dinner and breakfast! Way above our expectations. Everything was clean and roomy. Beautiful location and facility.". . . (2/7/11) - "A 1st class stable and host. Great meals and bedroom provided. The best. Reserve early.". . . (4/30/11) - "Lynn was a wonderful hostess. She met us at the gate and provided meals and lodging for us and a clean, sheltered paddock for our horses. We had a flat tire during our travel and she was able to recommend a tire store that provided excellent customer service. Thank you Lynn!". . . (9/26/11) - "Wolfe Haven exceeded our expectations in every way; more than a stop-over, Lynn Wolfe's beautiful farm proved to be a gorgeous destination unto itself. Tucked into the rolling hills at the edge of the stunning Cummings Valley near Tehachapi, this place truly lives up to its name as a haven of peace for road-weary travelers: equine, human, and canine, too. Lynn's warm hospitality and immaculate facilities were the best welcome to California we could have imagined. Thank you, Lynn!". . . (12/29/11) - "Hostess was very accommodating to an impromptu late evening request...very clean, spacious, good directions and even met us on the road with a flashlight! Peaceful, we would go back anytime."
