Comments: (9/18/06) - "Very kind and helpful host. Our stay was a pleasure. I didn't notice the proximity to "human" food and lodging, because we stayed in our RV. One of the stalls needed some repair, but my horse had no problem with it the way it was."

Comments: (6/6/07) - "This facility scores much, much higher than "POSITIVE" in all categories... quite frankly, the hosts treat their guests as well, if not better than, The Ritz Carlton organization. 1st Class Service at Coach prices. I'm trying to sign up for their Frequent Boarder program! AJ Roy San Diego, CA.". . .(6/29/07) - "Bev, the owner, was more than hospitable and the horsey digs were terrific. We stayed a total of four days and would definitely stay again when our travels take us to that part of California.". . .(8/4/07) - "Bev was a wonderful hostess. She took us into town to have dinner so we wouldn't have to unhook the camper. My horse was turned out then put up in a very large, clean, well bedded stall after being hosed off from the heat. This was the best accommodations we stayed at on our trip including the horse show facilities. We would definitely stay again. And, Bev, the peaches were great.". . .(9/9/07) - "This is an outstanding horse motel. We haul the entire western United States and feel that this is a great layover. Good for the horses, convenient off the interstate, and good for the RV.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Extremely clean barn and stalls with large turnout area. Hostess was charming, friendly and helpful. Easy access from I-5. Easy trailer parking. All in all among the best.". . .(10/11/07) - "Bev is great, the stalls are lovely and safe and everything is spotless. I highly recommend the place!". . .(12/8/07) - "We arrived with two horses, 4 dogs, and a cat driving a 50 ft RV and trailer and an injured husband. Bev was awsome, helpful, educated, kind, and an awsome host. We will definitely go back. Thanks Bev!". . .(1/15/08) - "I cannot recommend this facility enough! Everyone at A&B made EXTRAORDINARY efforts to assist us when our truck and trailer were disabled after being hit by another vehicle in Mt. Shasta. Bev and her husband are amazing!. . . We were so happy when our horse arrived at A&B. He was turned out in a large paddock with safe fencing and sparkling clean water. The barn was absolutely immaculate, his stall was deeply bedded with new shavings, . . . My husband and I stayed in the bunk house which was wonderful and right in the barn. The bunk used to be a tack room and is complete with very comfortable cots, TV with DVDs to watch, snacks, and a barn-safe heater that kept us very warm and cozy. . . . Everything is absolutely spotless, including the bathroom, shower, and toilet. However, the most important quality of A&B is that their genuine concern for your welfare and the welfare of your horse. This concern is evident in the safety and cleanliness of their facility as well as the extra effort made to make your stay in Redding enjoyable. Bev answered every phone call I made . . . My husband and I were overwhelmed by the compassion shown to us by Bev and her husband. We are so grateful and we recommend this facility and their hauling services without reservation." . . .(1/25/08) - ". . . She answered her phone right away and gave us the proper directions and was standing out on the road when we were in sight. Very comforting for a first timer with 3 show horses and 2 kids on their first real 'show trip'. The turn out for the horses was fabulous. On the way home we stayed with her again and used the stalls.....gorgeous.....I could have slept in them, and I could have picked my color as well! All freshly painted and sanitized. She goes beyond and above with a smile and a hug.". . .(3/19/08) - "The cleanest facility we have ever stayed. Friendliness extradonaire. We will always try to arrange our journey south to be able to stay there.". . .(3/26/08) - "This facility is exceptionally clean and secure. I will plan to stay here again. They have a spotlessly clean bathroom with a delicious, hot shower.". . . (5/8/08) - "Great place to stay for people & horses. Loved it.". . . .(5/18/08) - "Seldom have I felt so secure in leaving my horse for several days...This is my 2nd stay with Bev and it won't be the last--what a relief to find such a nice person and safe facilities--a home away from home for sure!"

Comments: "We were in a bind and traveling late, but were greeted by our friendly host (Vicki Donovan). We went for the boarding and got way more than we bargained for. Vicki showed genuine concern for our horse and offered her assistance at every turn. Specifically, we had some trouble trailering our horse - Vicki worked her magic and we were on our way with some helpful tips that made the rest of our trip (a very long one) problem free." . . .(8/11/02) - "The wife and I were hauling from WA. to Southern Cal. and had made reservations with Vickie. We pulled in late and had no problems finding the Ranch (EASY from I-5) I was interested in her Icelandics, and Vickie was more than happy to tell us about her little horses. On our way home we had truck problems in Sacramento, and had no plans to stay over. But with a late notice phone call, we were welcome. Thank You.". . .(11/3/02) - "Highly recommend this place for a stop over. Very friendly host. Stalls were clean and great place to stay with self contained unit.". . .(2/28/03) - "Lee met us and got the horse's settled in. Nice big stall's inside his barn. Felt very comfortable about leaving the horses under their care for the evening. We will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone passing through our place.". . .(6/12/03) - "I only talked to Vicki on the phone, but she was very nice and gave good directions. The ranch is easy to find and near food and motels. We met Lee at the stables, he's very nice also, made us feel welcome, and that our horse was safe. Whether your horse is a high price horse or a grade horse, you'll like their place. It was clean, with shavings, waiting for us when we got there. We stayed there going to Washington, then also on our way back. Easy to get in and out. We'll use them again.". . .(5/19/05) - "We are frequent travellers between San Diego and Central Oregon; in previous years, I have boarded my horse at the 3D Ranch in Redding 6 times. This year was our first stay at the new facility in Anderson. It is another first class operation; very clean and safe. I have always felt comfortable leaving my horse at 3D. An added benefit at the new place is that Laura feeds at 5 AM, so my horse (who won't eat while trailering) had finished breakfast when we picked her up at 7 AM. Highly recommended.". . .(7/8/05) - "I highly recommend 3D. It's a wonderful barn, close to lodging and food. Friendly people, great trailer access.". . .(1/15/06) - "Very nice place, safe box stalls, we came in after dark and were met by the manager, got my colt settled in, gave us directions to a nearby motel. I asked her about places to stay farther on our trip and she met us at 6 in the morning with a list of other horse motels. Highly recommended!". . .(12/29/06) - "Friendly host greeted us for late night arrival. Great stopover for folks headed to California from Canada. Would recommend.". . .(1/20/07) - "Nice facilities, very friendly and helpful hostess. willing to let my horse run free in the arena for awhile to roll, then put him in a very clean stall with a paddock. Would stay again.". . .(12/6/07) - "We called the night before Thanksgiving, and Lee was so polite and accommodating! He met us when we arrived, got our horses settled in and even ran power for our little space heater in our LQ. Beautiful facilities, fed for us in the am, just a pleasure to stay! Thank you!"

Comments: "These Folks where the nicest, down to earth people you'd ever want meet. They are so accommodating and go out of their way to help you with anything you need, NEVER making you feel you've inconvienced them in anyway. I'll always stop there in my travels to Southern California, they just make me think I'm a little closer to home.". . ."Greeted and assisted in unloading. Large clean safe pens, clean water, close sand arena available for turn out/exercise. Lighting adequate for dark early morning departure. Easy trailer access. Owner, Tim, very cordial.". . ."Tim Popplewell was very helpful and responsive to our emergency situation. He came with his trailer and picked up our horse and ourselves. He took care of our horse and took us to a motel. We were very happy with his facility and would recommend it to others.". . ."GREAT PENS - the gentleman met me, helped with the horses, let me turn out to exercise, etcetera! Super nice place. About 10 easy miles from great hotels, but well worth the distance to know your horses are happy!". . .(2/16/03) - " Tim was great!! We were hours late getting in, and got lost, but he was very understanding and helpful. He sent me pictures of his facility prior to my stay, and made arrangements for my stallion. Not much close by for people, but his website details what there is and where. We'll stay there again!". . .(8/11/04) - "We were moving two very green horses from Arizona to Northern California in the hottest part of summer and so were travelling by night. I left my young stallion and mare at this facility in the heat of the day while my friend and I went to get some sleep. We were exhuasted and not very pleasant when we arrived, and Tim helped us unload our frightened animals. He has a very calm and quiet way which was very impressive. When we came to load, his sons, Joe and Kevin, came out to help. Joe has the same quiet efficient way with horses as his Dad, and Kevin was a delight and very helpful. We were very impressed and, if they will have us, plan to use this facility whenever we are hauling between California and Arizona.". . .(11/3/04) - "Tim and Julie were absolutely wonderful! They met us upon arrival and were extremely helpful. My horses stayed for almost 2 weeks and were very well taken care of. Thank you!". . .(9/15/05) - "Our visit with Tim and Julie was wonderful. We made new friends and their family went way beyond the call of duty. Their children were wonderful helpers and their hospitality was overwhelming. Without question the place to stay with your horses when traveling. Thank again folks.". . .(10/28/05) - "My husband had to make this trip by himself (ENOUGH to worry me to begin with).....Was held up in picking up the horse we needed to deliver and was HOURS past expected arrival time ~~ Told me that Tim and Julie were GREAT!!!! even with an 11:00pm arrival time, they even offered to come and meet him and bring a trailer if it was needed AND my husband said the place was GREAT, CLEAN and we will ALWAYS stay here when a layover is needed in the future.". . .(4/30/06) - "We were very late coming in due to mechanical problems, we were sure sorry to wake them up. Facility very quiet, room for turn out and exercise.". . .(6/7/06) - "Facility owners were very nice, came right out when we pulled in and took care of my gelding. Their directions were easy to follow. We would definitely use their facility again.". . . (8/22/06) - "The whole family, including the kids, were very freindly & helpful with us and the horses. I felt very comfortable leaving my horses in their care. I would definitely call them again when we are passing through Bakersfield. Thanks again!!!". . .(10/9/06) - "Tim's daughter & son were very helpful upon our arrival. Thank you.". . .(2/25/08) - "We had no problems with anything. Our horses had safe, large outdoor paddocks and I camped in my camper nearby."

They even let us come in and use their computer to write something good about them, even though they said that it was not necessary. I'm sure that this facility would please any horse owner - not too large but clean and well cared for. Sincerely glad we stayed.". . .(3/8/07) - "Vicki was very friendly, and accommodating. This is a driving horse paradise with wonderful, safe facilities for short or long-term stay.". . .(2/25/08) - "This was the most welcoming peaceful horse facility I stayed at during my entire trip. The ranch is in a beautiful setting; one where you can literally take your horse out of the stall, mount up and ride on miles and miles of desert trails. The owner of the property was welcoming and helpful and made me feel right at home. I would recommend this place very highly. The ranch is clean, well maintained and safe."

James was very helpful in getting my mare set up safe and sound and there was adequate shade and room for her. Easy access off Hwy. 10 and not that hard to find in the daylight, tho it is out in the country, so get there before dark. Thx to Lisa and Leslie I rested well knowing my Gem was in safe hands for the night.". . .(1/1/07) - "These people are trustworthy and knowlegeable. Comments: (2/28/05) - "Very nice place to stop. Lisa is very accommodating, and very friendly. My horse, dog and I enjoyed out visit.". . .(12/21/06) - "Lisa was fantastic! Her stalls are the biggest I've seen. Her backyard/drive area was tight with my 8-horse gooseneck, but it did fit. She took great care of the horses and went far beyond my expectations (filled hay bags, cleaned trailer!). I would definitely stay here again. My trailer broke down as I tried leaving and had to stay an extra day- it was no problem. Thanks Lisa!". . .(12/23/07) - "Fantastic place to stop over. I was so happy with the service and Lisa was so helpful. She stayed up late to receive us and stood at the end of the street to help us find her in the dark. I can't say enough about the great service we were given."

We stopped off at Holly's Land on our way to a race. We all (horses and humans) were treated like old friends, even though we had just met! Our horses had the entire arena to run around in all night. We stayed in the house and were treated to a wonderful, unexpected meal cooked by Daniel and one of his stable boarders. What a treat!!"

Comments: (0/20/03) - "I recently made a horse trade that required driving and meeting the other person at a halfway point. We called late in the afternoon and were able to make arrangements for that evening, even though we arrived several hours apart. Our host was wonderful, making sure we had everything for both horses, including a selection of hay, a place to clean up an injured horse, and suggestions on where to stay. We were out there 'til after midnight, and pulled out at 6 in the morning. I would definitely stay there again! Only drawback.. it was a little difficult to find late at night, and the hotel was not as close as I would have liked, but closer than some. A+!!". . . (1/21/04) - "First Class Accommodations. Easy to find off 99, large stalls, abundant shavings, round pen, two arenas, friendly, helpful hosts and within 2 miles of food and lodging. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.". . .(9/3/04) - "Wonderful people with a beautiful boarding facility. I am sorry that we will be leaving! Thankyou.". . .(1/5/07) - "The accommodations were excellent as well as the service. Thanks again for everything.". . .(9/2/07) - "A first class facility. Easy access from CA 99. Large clean turn out areas for trailered horses to stretch their legs. Stall new, secure with rubber mats and fresh shavings. Auto waterers in each stall. Hostess was friendly, charming and helpful. We stayed on site in our truck camper with electricity provided. All in all one of the best stables we have stayed at. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation, too.". . .(2/24/08) - "They communicate well when contacted about staying overnight. The stalls are large and always clean. Feel very welcome there and they are so flexible on arrival and departure times so we can stay on our schedule. Great place!"

Comments: (11/25/04) - "Convienient stopover and large paddocks. Excellent stopover for our trip to Ridgecrest gymkhana.". . . . (5/23/06) - "On two different occasions, my partner, our two horses and I, in an effort to find respite from the wet, cold, drippy northern California weather, have found refuge at John and Joyce St. Ryan’s Red Rose Ranch. Their warmth, generosity and hospitality are unparalleled, and the facility offers spacious accommodations for the horses as well as round pens, hot walkers, bathing area, numerous arenas as well as a huge galloping track. Furthermore, miles and miles of trails climb into the lovely eastern Sierras just a few miles from the ranch. From personal experience, I know that John is a master trainer who, in the lineage of all good teachers, trainers and sages, takes his students where they are and, without judgment, helps them find effective strategies to move toward their goals. In addition to being a great teacher, John is also just plain delightful and Joyce is a dynamo of friendliness willing to help in any way possible. We feel extraordinarily lucky to have found Red Rose Ranch and look forward to visiting often in the future.". . .(1/11/07) - "We had a wonderful experience at Red Rose Ranch. John and Joyce are very friendly and accommodating. Our horses enjoyed a very large pasture stall - we like to say that they had their suite and we had ours in town - another nice referral from John and Joyce. The ranch has overall great facilities including a race track which was a unique treat for us. We enjoyed riding around the ranch as well as in the nearby desert and canyons. We were just checking it out for a future stayover on the way for another trip further up north in the future and we found a great get away all on its own. We will definitely be back."
